What's this?
This breed is one of four types of dogs known as the Belgian sheepdogs (the others are the Belgian Sheepdog, the Belgian Tervuren and the Belgian Malinois). They are light-footed herding dogs, elegant in outline, sensitive, responsive and extremely intelligent; they excel in obedience work.; The Laekenois is distinguished by its rough, wiry coat, which may be fawn, reddish-brown or gray. Males average 25 inches at the shoulder; females are slightly smaller. These dogs make wonderful pets, but there are few breeders and dogs to be found. To live happily with a Laekenois, provide it with regular grooming and exercise, early training and firm discipline.
