We lost our poor boy to BLOAT on May 17, 2013 and my heart is still so heavy. Baxter was such a good dog and brought my husband and I years of joy and laughter! RIP sweet boy...you will always be a treasured member of our family!

Hi! My name is Baxter. I am a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever from Middleburg, FL

Nicknames: Baxey; Handsome;Wonder Dog!
Birth Day, Month and Year: 2/7/2003
Age: 11
Weight: 51-100 lbs.
Gender: M
Education: I've never had "formal" training, but I try to be very well mannered and very obedient. I love the Frisbee and have mastered most basic tricks and commands! Mom says I'm a GREAT dog! :)
My pet peeves: PLEASE DON'T VACUUM! I hate that thing! Please don't touch my face unless I grant you permission!
My hobbies: Frisbee; Swimming; Going to the Dog Park and chewing on a good bone!
My favorite hang out spot? The front yard with my girlfriend, Boots, who is a cute Rhodesian Ridgeback!
My favorite grub: Scrambled eggs mixed into my dry dogfood. It's especially good with a little grated cheese on top!
My favorite treat: Those smelly old cow hooves rock!
My favorite tricks: Jumping for the frisbee; shaking hands and I can sit, stay, roll-over....anything for attention! The Canine 10 Commandments: My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that when you buy or adopt me. Give me time to understand what you want of me. Place your trust in me - it's crucial for my well-being. Don't be angry at me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I have only you. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it's speaking to me. Be aware, however you treat me, I'll never forget. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand, but that I choose not to bite you. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, or I've been out in the sun or in the cold too long, or my heart is getting old and weak. Take care of me when I get old. You too, will grow old someday. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I can't bear to watch it", or say "Let it happen in my absence" or "I am tired of you". Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember I Love You, and
What I love about my owner: They are lots of fun and they spoil me and my sister, Bailey, with all the great things money can't buy...plenty a-love & affection! They take us to the dog park and on cool adventures as often as possible and we get treats and good dog food and we even have our own beds! The best part about my owners....they don't know I'm "just a dog"! They treat me like I'm a "real boy!"
Motto "Always try to make it look like the cat did it."
