IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY "SWEET HOPIE GIRL" You came to me on 12/11/2000 a scared shy pup in the back of a crate. I gave you and your sister Faith a "FOREVER HOME" three days later. You both grew up into beautiful ladies. You brought so much joy into my life since that day. Yes, you gave your Mommie some heartaches but I would do it all over again to have you back. You never "WANTED" for anything. I took care of you the best I could. The only thing we couldn't hurdle together was your brain tumor and for that I am profoundly sorry.....I want to Thank You for making me smile and your many wet kisses everyday. You were the first thing I saw in the morning (only because you insisted on resting your head on my pillow) and the last thing I saw at night. My days were so much brighter with you in it. You were the glue that held us all together. I was the lucky one to have you in my life for 8 short years.....I want to Thank You for making me laugh so hard that my belly hurt. For playing hide and seek and always knowing where to find me. For how special you made me feel when no one else could. How you were always glad to see me when I came home and the look of love and admiration in your beautiful eyes.....I want to Thank You for licking my tears drops away when I cried and letting me hold you as you slept. For keeping my safe at night knowing you would give your life for me and I for you.....I want to Thank You for allowing all the children of "Puppy Tales" to read to you each month even if it was the same story over and over again. For giving them kisses and making them feel special. For touching so many human lives and having so many "furry friends" that they too will miss and feel your loss.....I want to Thank You for listening to me rant and rave at times and giving me that look that said "Everything will be ok Mom because I'm here and I love you." For all the unconditional love and devotion that you gave so freely.....For all these things and the many other things that you have done, your sister Faith and I want to thank you one last time, THANK YOU. It is Day 17 and let's get this show on the road............. ~~~** Here's the topic I promised you.....**~~~ ~~ The BEST Dog Movies You May Not Be Watching ~~ I am SO EXCITED to tell you about the next movie on my list. It's one of my absolute favorite dog films and the name of this movie is " A Dog Named Christmas ". A Dog Named Christmas is a Hallmark Hall of Fame tv movie that stars Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) as the father of a developmentally challenged young man that has a wonderfully strong desire to care for animals in need. This young man sets out to convince his family and the whole rural community to participate in a local shelter's inaugural "Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program". It is a very heartwarming story that I can't see any dog person not liking. It is a difficult movie to find for purchase and your best bet is Amazon or the Hallmark Channel Movies Website. I don't know if anyplace else has it for sale or if it is available to rent, but if you can get your hands on a copy of this movie, PLEASE do so and watch it. It's the first live action movie ever produced by Walt Disney. It stars Fred MacMurray, Annette Funicello and Tommy Kirk as Wilby Daniels, a boy who, thanks to sn ancient spell, changes into a sheepdog and back again. It always seems to happen at the most inapproriate times resulting in extremely funny situations. The spell can only be broken by an act of bravery! Try watching this original version if you have never seen it and if you have seen it before watch it again. It's a winner! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ** Hugs, Chewie and Maya **

Truly gut wrenching sad at times! That out of the way................ ~~~** Here's the topic I promised you.....**~~~ ~~ The BEST Dog Movies You May Not Be Watching ~~ **" Marley and Me" is todays choice. I know, I know, you didn't watch it because you didn't want to cry your eyes out, which is why, after crying her way thru the book, Mommy waited for dvd and bought it so she could bawl and squall in the privacy of her own home! IT'S A 2 DEW CLAWS UP GUYS! Mommy had read the book while bawling her eyes out and laughing her butt off (she obviously found BOTH of them back!) Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson star as John and Jenny Grogan but the real stars of this movie are the 22 DIFFERENT DOGS that play Marley throughout the various stages of his mischief filled life! For those of us who try to be good, yet trouble seems to find us (that would be me) this is a movie that proves that all doggies are worthy of love !!! Based on the book and true story by John Grogan. Please do NOT pass this one up. Just get an extra box of Kleenex and settle in. Oh yeah, be sure to watch it together so you and your pawrents can give each other some extra hugs and kisses! ~~~~~~ ~~~~Thank you all for the votes you are giving me. Soon after the Lowry family leaves the big city for small town life they are "adopted" by a very clever, yet lovable,stray Golden Retriever......Pilot. Soon they discover Pilot is pregnant! They grow very close to the puppies but know they must give them away after they are weaned. Pilot, however, is determined to get her puppies back....it's an adventure that shows them what it really means to be a family. At least one really sad scene that most likely will bring tears to your eyes. Mommy and I enjoyed the movie and we think you will, too. We sure do appreciate all the loyal and good friends we have made here on DC. We are also so very happy that we are adding to our group of friends every day! Hugs, Chewie and Maya
