Hi Ms. Lucy!
My name is Clancy. I’m a Lhasa from Omaha, NE. I’d like to welcome you to Dog Channel. I know it’s an imposition to ask something of you so quickly after you joined, but I need all the help I can get. I’m on a mission to help a friend and I’m hoping you can help. I'm starting a letter writing campaign on behalf of Ibby the stolen Shih Tzu from West Virginia. Ibby brother is Pongo (105429). He has made me aware of a devastating situation with Ibby. Long story short, Ibby was stolen last year. Ibby’s humans found her on a shelter web-site and was told she could have the dog back through the adoption process. Then the woman at the shelter gave Ibby to someone else. Pongo's Gammy is devastated. I have put together a short letter that you can copy and paste into Word. I implore as many of you as possible to participate in this campaign as there has been an injustice. Copy and Paste into Word and then format the letter properly, print and mail. Pass this letter on to all your friends as we need as much support as possible. We must get Ibby home!! Clancy. Ok this is the letter - December 8, 2008 Mr. Steve Teufel Berkeley County Commission Project 400 W. Stephen Street Suite 201 Martinsburg, WV 25401 Mr. Teufel: I am writing you regarding a situation that has been going on at North Mountain Dog Rescue in Martinsburg. I have been made aware of this situation through emails from an Internet friend on www.dogchannel.com . I feel strongly enough about this situation to write a letter in support of Mrs. Kidwell and her stolen dog, Isabella. Mrs. Kidwell had her dog Isabella stolen out of her backyard the Sunday after Christmas last year. Mrs. Kidwell happened to find her dog on the website www.nmsd_rescue@yahoo. com. Mrs. Kidwell responded to Ms. Nichols immediately and told her that the dog was hers. Mrs. Kidwell was told by Ms. Nichols that she could have her back through the adoption process only to discover that Ms. Nichols had allowed another woman to take Isabella. I feel it is entirely unjust that Ms. Nichols has given Isabella to someone else. As a dog owner myself, this situation would devastate me. I can only imagine how Mrs. Kidwell feels at the loss of her dog, first from being stolen, then losing her all over again at the hands of Ms. Nichols What I am asking for Mr. Teufel, is for you to become personally involved in researching this case. Mrs. Kidwell is elderly and having great difficulty with the loss of her dog. From what I learned of this situation, it seems as if Ms. Nichols has perhaps mishandled this situation. Is it too much to ask to allow Mrs. Kidwell to have her dog back? What purpose is served by giving the dog to someone else? Why would Ms. Nichols allow the Kidwells to begin the adoption process and then allow someone else to adopt the dog? Why would the Kidwells go to so much trouble to gain back their dog if this dog was not already theirs? I feel deeply that this situation bears your attention. Please find it in your heart
