Molly!! (your 5th pic HAS 2 B your profile pic)

It seems only a short time ago the flowers were in their brightest blooms, the water inviting and all the time in the world to enjoy the long summer days. Now the delicate decorations of the warmer months are but a few, cold air nips your nose and ears in the morning, and studying inside takes up most of the day. But there is one great thing about Autumn...the breathtaking colors. I am very sorry I have been gone so long. I never like to be away from DC, and it was horrible not being with you for such a long time! I thought of you many times, wishing I could read your wonderful blogs & see your sweet faces. You will never know how much I missed you! It's so great to be back and I'm happy I can finally tell you we are actually DONE moving. I know that last you heard from me was that we were moving to Idaho, but that wasn't going to work. Mom's dad has a job in AK he can't leave, we'd never see him. So we found a nice, pretty, little (a little too little) house in Anchor Point, which is about a 4 hr drive from Anchorage, AK's biggest city. The opposite from Anchorage, Anchor Point is a tiny, tiny place with a PO, school, & ST. All the big stores are a long drive away and there isn't a Target or Petco closer than Anchorage! :( We are too far from the city & it's hard for mom's dad to come see us. His lodge is going really well but he misses us so much! Hopefully when our lease is over (8 mo.) we can afford to move closer to Anchorage, but we are glad that we found something this nice that's affordable. I wish I had gotten back to you a long time ago but we didn't get Internet right away and I'm only one of several mom has to help get caught up on blogs. I've had a lot of adventures since we've moved, but here are the scariest ones: First of all the front door doesn't close all the way unless you push it hard. Mom thought she had closed it...but she didn't. Later she went into the entryway to get something and saw the door wide-open. She panicked and looked everywhere for me. She ran down the street calling me. I had never been loose in a town before and I wasn't wearing an ID tag (was coming in mail). About hr later she heard licking in the entryway, I was just all cozy in my bed looking like, 'what? I've been here the whole time...' My 2nd scary event was just the other day. Mom & her mom were taking Yukon & me across the street. Mom's mom was infront a ways & she crossed. But when mom got there a car came around the corner. Us dogs were watching mom's mom & pulling to catch up. Mom was pulling back with all her might but somehow my flexi got loose of her hold. I was running strait at the car. But then there I was unharmed at her mom's side. It doesn't make sense that it didn't hit me. It was like I miraculously just went right through it. Her mom saw it too & says the same thing, it looked as if the car and me faded together. Wish I could make this longer, I'll BBS. Love ya'll ~Peaka~lotsa NEW photos

Hola mola! It's been a while! First off I want to apologize for my absence. I want you to know I have missed barking with you so much. I always have a ball coming on DC and it was sad to be away for so long. Believe it or not we aren't moved in anywhere yet. Crazy, huh?!! Well we almost did get moved in but just at the end it didn't work out. The exciting news is we are moving to Idaho! We'll be taking a road trip! Dad is buying a huge buss and that's what we'll be using to get there. Mom is excited but of course you can imagine how sick of MOVING we are...we've been moving since May!! Well, mom, her brother, and their mom stayed at mom's mom's mom's (wow, I mean mom's grandma) house for over a month! They looked at everything for rent and sale but didn't find what we're looking for. There's hardly anything out there right now. The one we did find (that didn't work out because the tenant in it right now is going to move out too late for us) that we could afford only had 2 bedrooms anyway. Ideally we're looking for a 4-bedroom house. But mom's sure that'll never happen. UGH. So while mom was away her Dad took care of Yukon and me. We missed mom soooooo much!! Dad's parents came all the way from Norway (yeah, NORWAY) to visit and help him finish the lodge he's building back in Port Alsworth, so mom came back from Anchorage and is in Port Alsworth with us now! We are so glad to be with her again. Mom got a new camera and it takes PAWesome photos. She took a ton of Yukon and me, (of course) he,he. We tried uploading them today but the “Upload Image” button won't show up, even if we make room for more pictures by deleting the old ones. Are you having this problem too? Oh and btw, mom changed the spelling of my name! We like it a lot better this way... Gobbled your bone, Peaka

Happy Spring Molly!!

...Although it sure ISN'T spring yet here! haha. Okay so almost our whole winter, no snow. Then is was really looking like spring was here for sure and then what do ya know?!! SNOW!! We got over 6 inches of snow yesterday, it's been snowing all night and three days in a row! All the snow on our roof slid off and piled up in a gigantic heap in front of the door and mom's little brother (who's the smallest of the pack, lol) had to squeeze outside and shovel the mountain of snow away so everyone else could get out too! And Yukon and I were waiting for our morning potty break! wow, just when ya think...he,he. Wow, it sure was GRREAT to hear from ya, sis! Guess what Molly! We are moving!! We are moving out of this house (actually it's a hangar set-up-as a house) and moving into a house that we lived in for 8 years and moved out of last year. We will be there for about 3 months (we're going to try to finish up the school year here, or as much as possible) and then when things aren't *as* busy in mom's dad's business, we will go to Anchorage and mom, her mother, and mom's brother will stay at our grandparents' house while we look for a short-term place to rent. Then from there we'll be searching for the place we're going to LIVE when mom's dad is done with his seasonal job here in Port Alsworth and then he'll be with us in the new house. Wow, we're going to be moving a lot! Well mom has of course been as busy as a fire man going through stuff, throwing LOADS of junk away and donating tons of stuff. Wow, it we don't watch it she might pack US up too! Bol. Our Easter was wonderful and I hope yours was as well and filled with all the things that are most special to you! ~They're as cute as a puppy in a rug... ~So don't be a slug, and give them a hug! ~*~VOTE BRUTUS & BUCKEYE 44198 DOTM APRIL!~*~ Lab hugs, a vote, and big wet licks from your friend, Princess Pike (pro. Hi! My name is Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod and yes, I was named after the character in the Highland movies and TV series. I am a West Highland White Terrier, which is a breed that originated in Scotland and can be traced back to the time of King James I of England. I am running the month of March for the position of Dog of the Month (DOTM) and would appreciate it if you could stop by my page 18686 and vote for me daily or as often as you can. The dog with the most votes at the end of the month wins the contest. Now for a little bit about me: I am Sgt. At Arms and Park Manager of the Westie Club. Treasurer of the Terrier Club. A-Team Tug-O-War Master, a member of the Peace Team, DC Friendship Club, BPM and the DC Sports Club. I made DOTD on July 4,2008 and again on July 23, 2009. My nickname is SweetPea although dad sometimes calls me donkey like in the movie Shrek. My favorite games are tug-o-war and fetch, although I also like to play keep away. I am mom's constant companion and have learned to detect when mom's blood sugar is running low and alert her to the situation so that she can eat something right away. My theme this month is Irish Poetry with authentic poems. Today's song is The Girl I Love by John Boyle O' Reilly The girl I love is comely, straight, and tall, Down her white neck her auburn tresses fall; Her dress is neat, her carriage light and free - Here's a health to that charming maid, who'er she be! The rose's blush but fades beside her cheek, Her eyes are blue, her forehead pale and meek, Her lips like cherries on a summer tree - Here's a health to the charming maid, who'er she be! When I go to the field no youth can lighter bound, And I freely pay when the cheerful jug does round; The barrel is full, but its heart we soon shall see - Come, here's to that charming maid, who'er she be! Had I the wealth that props the Saxon's reign, Or the diamond crown that decks the King of Spain, I'd yield them all if she kindly smiled on me Here's a health to the maid I love, who'er she be! Five pounds of gold for each lock of her hair I'd pay, And five times five for my love one hour each day; Her voice is more sweet than the thrush on its own green tree - Then, my dear, may I drink a fond deep health to thee! I have enjoyed visiting your page and hope that we can become friends after the contest is over. I left a vote for you today. Duncan

Hey MOLLY! :)

Did you have a good Christmas? Yukon and I wished that we could have blogged our friends just before but mom's been super busy. We had a great celebration here. Yukon and I wore our new red jingle bell santa bandannas. And mom put my Santa hat on! She was surprised I didn't try to get it off. I just kept on ripping up the wrapping paper on my presents...he,he!! I got a flashy banda-bling and a pretty collar and leash set. he,he. Mom wanted to get us new charms for our collars but she doesn't know where to buy them online. We didn't get to go into town for shopping (except mom got us our presents over the Internet he,he!!) so there weren't many presents under the tree. Dad gave everyone shopping money to pick out things for when we do go to Anchorage though. We're really looking forward to New Years! It's mom's favorite celebration. Oh, guess what?! Mom's 13th birthday is tomorrow. She's excited for that. We are very busy right now and so behind on blogs since we were off for the holidays. We'll be going into town and everything too and so I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog you before then. It's so crazy because there is NO SNOW here in Port Alsworth!! I heard it's snowing in Texas and Missouri...but here in our city in ALASKA???!!! Wow...listen to this...there is fresh green grass growing here right now! And a bunch of birds coming from the south! Crazy, isn't it?! There's usually snow up until April and this year there isn't even snow in December! he,he. When mom took Yukon for a run a few days ago, she saw there was blood all over where his due-claw is. Sure enough, it's cracked right at the base of it. Mom's real worried because we can't clip it. It's impossible to hold him down if he's in pain (it hurts really bad to cut the quick!!) and he would never hold still (after getting his quick cut) to put the blood-stopper on and if we didn't put the blood-stopper on then it would bleed too much. Mom doesn't know what to do. She's hoping he can fly into the vet but that's expensive and we don't own a plane so we'll see. I will blog you as soon as I can and inform you with what we do. Breeders are supposed to take the due-claws off their puppies but Yukon's didn't. Mine did though. Well, take care my sweet friend. I can't wait until things settle down a lot. Then there will be more DC time and more play time. Here's a big biscuit bone to add to your collection! :) Btw, do you like my new profile pic? Mom took it of me on the pond. Our computer hasn't been working so that's why I haven't had a chance to blog you. Right now it's working...but SO sloooooooow. grrrr. I want to give you a huge hug of thanks for praying for Yukon and I. We couldn't ask for better furiends. We love you so much and we know you're prayers helped! I'm so happy Yukon is all better. Last week my head was completely swelled up and I had a terrible stomach ache. Mom gave me lots of massages and I slept by the fire place. I was really chilled so mom tried to make my potty brakes as quick as possible. I was all normal and better in two days, thank goodness. The day after I got all better I cut my paw on something when I was playing outside. It was flowing blood so mom rushed me home. The bleeding stopped and mom is putting tea tree oil and bag balm on it daily. My pads are really dry and cracked so mom soaked them in warm water. It was of course awkward holding my foot one at a time in a bucket of water! he,he. I didn't like that at all. Well, my foot bled just a tiny bit yesterday. Mom is really glad we have clean snow right now because if it was mud or dirt it would be really hard to keep my paw clean. Anyway, Yukon and I had lots of fun sledding with mom yesterday. And today we had Trigger and Kijik our doggy friends over! We had tons of fun playing with our new penguin toy. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I hope you have a very blessed holiday. I'm so tail waggin' happy that mom gets a four-day-weekend off school!! yay! That means she can play with us instead! (right mom??) he,he. I give thanks for all my wonderful friends here at DC! ♥ Your thankful pal, ~Pike (pronounced 'pee-keh')~
