How We Met?

My furless brother Pat went fishing May 29, 2009 and heard a dog barking non-stop so went to check it out. What he found was shocking...It was me! I was tied to a tree, all tangled up in its leash and weeds at the rivers edge. So of course Pat helped me and went looking to see if anyone was out in a boat or something although they knew the answer was going to be no. So he took me to a friends house and called Momma at work. Momma took one look at me and started crying. It was obvious that I was left there for a reason....I would never be going back home. I was so skinny and you could see my back bone sticking up and the back all sunken in by his hips. After I ate 4 bowls full of food, I kind of filled in a little back there. Momma said to Pat "We are keeping him", "Put the dog in the car, we are heading to the vets." Once at the vets momma asked if they would scan me to see if I was chipped. The vet techs said that they were sure there wouldn't be one because it was obvious I was not wanted. Well that started momma crying again and asked what we could do. The vet came out and said if I wanted, he would run blood and stool tests, give me shots and check me over... just in case they decided to keep me (like that wouldn't happen...how could they resist me!) Of course Momma said yes! All test came back negative, no worms, Lyme or heart worms. The Vet clipped my nails, checked me over, weighed me (32 lbs) and said I was about 5 1/2 months old...almost 6 months old. He said I was born around the end of December so Pat choose December 30th as my birthday. The Vet said I look like Black Lab and Springer Spaniel mix. Momma says..."I am sure is a cutie!" Now the next step was convincing Vic (dad) to let us keep me.....and that took about 2 minutes once I climbed in his lap and gave him a big ole kiss!!! Cailey isn't too sure what she thinks of me. She is not used to being around other dogs but I am sure we'll become buddies in time. So that is my story! I am the luckiest pup ever to have such a fantastic family to live with....I now have a furever home.

Hey Furfriends,

Looks like I'm back to blogging. :) Well nothing much going on today. Yesterday mom went shopping and was looking at new collars and leashes, but came home empty-handed because she says she will get them later on. Mom brought us some meat scrap home; yum, bacon, beef, & turkey. :) It's all gone now though. Thank you all my friends who voted/supported T.K. in her DOTM run, for those of you who asked she will try to run again, we will talk to her friend, Shadow, about it later in the year, she's thinking maybe Jan. '11. Don't worry that's a LONG time away so we will let you know. :) I am in the process of getting signed up for a DOTM this year, but I will let you know when the time comes. So it looks like this is going to be a busy year for us! We've already had two DOTD's, one unplanned, and two more coming later this year, Bailey Girl & me. Hmm...wonder what else 2010 has in store for us. Can't wait to find out!! It's nice to be back blogging again. I am working on getting 4,000 votes by March 5th, so if you would like to help that would be wonderful. :) I missed you all. :) Your Goldie Pal, Sadie Maye *Vote Shadow(#108407) FEB. DOTM*

We're Back!!!

Guess what! We're back. : ) Camping was a blast! When we were driving to the campground it rained, but when we finally got there it stopped raining and then we rested up from the ride and went through this Halloween blow-up decoration trail. Then on Saturday we went for a few walks, took mommy's cousin's through the trail once more. Then we went back to the campsite and made my costume, a cowgirl. (We didn't have a chance to take any pictures yet though) Then mommy put my, Duke, and T.K.'s costume along, as well as her cousin's unicorn costume on and Jakoby was an adorable scarecrow. : ) Then mommy took us trick-or-treating around the campground. Duke was sitting in the stroller, with T.K. and I tied to it, and mommy's cousin walked to go and trick-or-treat, while mommy held Jakoby and pushed the stroller. Everyone said that we were so cute! There was only two other dogs' dressed up throughout the entire campground! There was a Shih Tzu named Lola dressed up as a princess and a Lab as an Incredibles. The we got back to the site and mommy helped hand out candy. After trick-or-treating was all finished mommy put us in the camper to rest up while she went to the costume judging. Then mommy got back and we played on the mat with little Koby and then mommy took Jakoby and her cousin up to the dance, but let us stay a the site so we could rest. Then she came back and we rested up. We were so tired after this weekend! We met lots of new doggy friends, a Yorkie, a Maltie-Poo, a Great Dane, 3 Goldens, a Lab, a Shih Tzu (Lola), a Spitz, a Chihuahua, a German Shepherd, a Border Collie/Shepherd cross, and many more! It was so much fun! On Sunday we drove home and rested the day away. Mommy had work to do and we just napped the rest of the day. Hope you all had a nice weekend. We will try to get pictures up this week, if we have time to take some. Love, Sadie Maye
