How We Met?

Jazz raced for 3 years before retairing. She had raced 34 races, and came in first 3 times. And second place 3 times. Her mom was Medinah and her father was Taziluz. She had two sisters, Phyliss and Lorelai, and a brother named Vizier. I wanted a greyhound for 3 years and finally came home to her. Best day ever(:

Hi Jazz

Hope everyone is doing ok. We're ok here. Busy weekend last weekend, what with it being Memorial Day and all. But it was nice. Mom held a cookout on Monday and Big Sis's boyfriend and his daughter came over for it. Everyone had a good time. Big Sis's boyfriend offered to do the cooking, since he likes to cook and is really good at it. Mom said everything tasted really good. She was really impressed since he didn't use any seasonings, like she does, and she said it tasted better than when she grills. One of the burgers kinda feel on the ground when he was taking it off the grill, so I got to eat it. It really was good - once it was cool enough to eat. I also got to play some with his daughter, and that was fun. She also kept giving me things to snack on, like chips, which I really liked, but Mom wasn't too happy about because I'm "supposed" to be on a diet. Big Sis's boyfriend has a couple of job interviews tomorrow (the last job he got, a couple months ago, didn't work out). Hopefully he'll get one of them, or find something soon. Big Sis's hoping to get to go to Busch Gardens again soon since they didn't get to go last weekend. This weekend is looking nice in terms of weather, so she's hoping maybe to go this weekend. Mom might go this time, too.

Hi Jazz

Okay, Here Goes! My first day of my DOTM run! First, thanks to everyone for your friendship and for any and all votes during this run. I appreciate each and every one of you. Now, For the topic I promised you..... ~~ The BEST Dog Movies You May Not Be Watching ~~ The first of my recommended movies is Walt Disney's Iron Will. It's based on an incredible true-life story and stars Mackenzie Astin as a young man thrust into adulthood when he races his team of sled dogs in a grueling and treacherous cross-country marathon, hoping to win the $10,000 grand prize that can save his family from financial ruin. It's Entertaining, Inspirational and Captivating. This is a movie you won't want to miss! It also stars Kevin Spacey, David Ogden Spears (MASH) and Brian Cox. Check it out, you will be glad you did! Don't forget to vote for our friends with Birthdays/Anniversaries and the DOTD each and every day this month! I love you all and look forward to making even more friends this month! Good Evening, Jazzy!

Whew! WHAT a busy month May has been for us. I'm planning on blogging much more this June, but I wanted to start off early and let you all know how we have been doing today! First off, I have a LOT of new photos so come by soon and check them out :) Secondly, I have some bad news. Mom had to sell our cows, Annie (the calf) and Claire (the mother), because it was all too much work and commitment. We have so many animals.. over 100 chickens, a duck, a goose, a steer (Claire's twin brother, whom we're keeping), two alpacas, two cats, a budgie and we dogs. So instead of wasting a perfectly good milking cow (Claire) and a possibly good future milking cow (Annie), we sold them to a dairy farm down the road. Mom's dad, whom she still lives with, is friends with the farmers so we know that the two went to a very good home. Mom of course misses them both (especially little Annie) VERY much, but we had passed our limit on how many pets we can have. Another exciting thing is that we got 66 chicks on Tuesday!! All but five are going to be for meat, so they aren't pets that will hold the family down. For those who know the breeds of chickens, we got Jersey Giants, Dark Cornish and Brown Leghorn. YET another thing that has us on our toes, is that we have a hen that has been brooding a clutch of eggs. Well the first baby hatched either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning (we found the chick on Wed. morning)! Mom and I have been keeping a close eye on the other eggs. This afternoon, another chick was trying to hatch. And while you're not supposed to intervene, Mom helped #2 get out of the shell because it was taking so very long. Turns out, it might have a deformed leg (hard to tell right now, but she's pretty sure) so Mom wonders if it would have been capable of breaking through the shell by itself. Now we've got a #3 peeping in it's shell. I love helping Mom take care of chicks! Well this blog is getting SUPER long, so I'll have to get going now. Anyway, I'm ecstatic to be back on DC, and maybe I'll be blogging every day now? We'll see! Pawing a vote for you .. have a wonderful night dear friend :) Border Collie Kisses, Ruby Tuesday Rose ♥ xoxo

Hello Jazz, my old-friend!

Great to hear from you again! I'm actually just starting to be active once again on DC as well. That's horrible that your Mom has been struggling with a brain-disorder.. we'll keep her in our prayers. Glad to hear that you and the other animals are alright though! Here's a vote for you. Have a wonderful day sweet friend :) Much Love ♥ xoxo Ruby ♥

If you haven't heard, I am running for DOTM in June! I am so excited but VERY NERVOUS! I was hoping to run unopposed so I would at least have some chance of winning! BOL!! In a one dog race, I would come in second! BOL! All I can do is my best. I try to be a good friend and do the right thing no matter what. I will cast a vote for Durango every day just like I will vote for myself. I hope I win, but if Durango emerges victorious, then it is not meant to be and I will offer my sincere congratulations to him! I am asking my friends to support me and help me in my quest for the honor of being DOTM for June. If they help by posting to "Vote Chewie DOTM in June" on the profile page, that is WONDERFUL and I will be forever grateful. If they help by adding it to their blogs, again I thank them, and if they vote for me I want each of them to know I appreciate each and every vote given! Except for DOTD shortly after we joined DC, I have never won any contest I have entered. I truly am appreciative of all the friends I have made and the new ones I am meeting on an almost daily basis on DC! If I don't win, at least I will come away with some new friends, I hope! Thanks to each and every friend I have. I love you all! PuppyDog Kisses and Tail Wags, Chewie Good Luck to Durango as well!

Hi Jazz!

Hope you're having a nice weekend! Sorry we have been a bit inactive again lately. We haven't had tons of time for DC. Well, yesterday we had company over, and they even played with us a little :) We got outside and Muffin and Brandon played in the water. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 90s, so Brandon is hoping to go swimming then. Left a vote. *hugs* Muffin, Brandon and Peanut

Hi Jazz, I (Max) have a double ear infection. It is very inflamed. I'm now taking a prednisone taper along with ear medication. Mommy is concerned that she will have some trouble putting the drops into my ears because even the vet had lots of trouble cleaning out my ears. I was yelping in pain and it took two techs and the vet along with Mommy giving me tons of treats to allow the vet to clean my ears. She wasn't even able to do a thorough cleaning but she said that once the prednisone reduces the inflammation it might be easier to do. Mommy will be trying to give the drops tomorrow morning. For now she is doing the prednisone hoping that it helps somewhat with the pain. I'm 50 lbs already! I'm almost the same weight as Snickers (55 lbs). Happy Memorial Day weekend! Here is a vote for you. Love, Snickers & Max
