Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm sorry that I didn't make it over yesterday. I had every intention of blogging everyone but decided at 2am that I had simply run out of time! Especially with mama having to get up at 6am. hehe I just looked at her and rolled over and went back to sleep. Ah, the life of a dog! I hope you had a nice warm and green and sunny day yesterday. We were hoping for green too but the last few mornings we have awoken to heavy snowstorms and there was more today! Okay, so it's not strange to have snow in March but we've been having semi warm weather lately and were keeping our fingers crossed that spring was just around the corner. I guess we didn't have the luck of the Irish with us and apparently there must be quite a few more corners till spring is really here. Mama asked me if I could make summer come. So, I thought on it and replied, "No problem! It might take me a couple of months though." "Why so slow?" she has the temerity to ask? Well, it's not like I've done it before. That's a major commitment! Talking of major, mama finally finished a horse movie on which she's been working on and off since January. It's hard to find time but at least it's done now. I would love for you to take a peek at it. It's called Pippin: Valiant Protector of Honest Creatures If you type that into the search engine of YouTube it will be the first movie to come up. I hope you enjoy it! It's a humourous mix of drama and action. And lots of footage of beautiful horses! Talking of food, oh wait, we weren't talking of food but I WAS thinking about food. Mama was giving us dogs some chicken and she was holding a piece in her hand and asking Kermit to "speak." It took a couple of seconds and then he let out his little yorkie yap. Mama handed him his piece of chicken but WAIT! Where was it? It was in her hand one moment and gone the next! She didn't even notice but while her attention was held by Kermit I gently but deftly nabbed the chicken. Wow, what a perfect pickpocket I'd be! She didn't even feel it! hehe Wishing you all the best and may the luck o' the Irish be with you. Leaving you a lucky vote! PS Please vote for Kootenai 161648 on the HC. He and his mama are trying for hotm for the 4th time! I would really love for him to win this time and appreciate your support. And if you're already voting then thank you!!!

How are you doing? I'm doing fine and mama's hand is healing up nicely. She will have a scar to show off though. She's got to invent some story to go with it. Oh wait, she has one! Not much can beat her trip to my vet! I still get a kick out of that. I've been really busy lately. Last week we went to the coast and had a wonderful time. It was so much fun to get away for a bit and enjoy the pleasures of eating, sleeping, eating, hiking, eating, and... eating! It rained the entire time but we were not to be put off. We went down and walked in the pouring rain and gale winds and came back cold and soaked each time. I wasn't too thrilled initially but as soon as my paws hit the sand I forgot about the foul weather and ran around exuding the pure joy that I felt. It did clear up a bit one day and we went on a 4 hour (12 miles or so) hike along the coast. It was beautiful! Kermit came with us too but he was beat by the time we got home. I didn't realize that I was tired and on the last hour stretch which happened to be down on the beach I ran circles around everyone and back and forth the entire length of sand at top speed without a break. Makes me tired just thinking about it now! But I'd love to do it again. All in all it was so much fun. When we left home we had spring weather. Now that we're back it's winter and snowy again. In fact we even have some fresh snow. Fun to run if you're tall like me but Kermit keeps getting snowballed and snow coned. hehe A few days ago three of us cornered a cat (bad dogs) and he scratched Kermit on the white of his eyeball. A good sized gouge was there but it's healing up. Hence the cone. And when it gets filled up with snow it's a "snow cone!" It's great to be back. How is it there? Leaving a vote for you and I hope you're enjoying your weekend. PS I posted a few photos. There are so many!

How are you doing? Today was mama's birthday and she had a wonderful day. Even the weather was extra beautiful! It was in the 60s here and we can't even imagine cold icy weather right now though we know it could just be around the corner. We're keeping our paws crossed! Guess what I did on one of my long bike rides last week! Okay, I'll tell you. I caught a vole! It was hiding on the side of the road but I sniffed it out. I was curious and patted it with my paw, then I picked it up gently in my mouth but it felt weird so I dropped it. I was going to play pat a cake with it but mama told me to leave it and come. I considered her "request" (I always think of her "commands" as requests or suggestions) and decided to leave the vole alone. Good choice as mama was headed right for me with this unequivocal look on her face. Mama told me that she was quite impressed by my thoughtful reaction. She said that every other hunting dog she's known would have killed the vole instantly and then thought later. I'm sorry that I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. As you know, I was busy helping Pippin with his hotm campaign. Now that he's king of the forest I may get a little more blogging time to myself! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are all feeling well. Here's a vote for you and best wishes for a fun week. Stay warm!

Thank you to everyone for leaving votes for Tiny yesterday so that she could reach 15,000. There were so many silent votes that I don't even know who voted! And thanks to Zoey for being the 15,000th voter. How are you all doing? We're so busy with mini facts for Pippin's hotm run that I've not had much chance to do my own blogging. Today was sunny and warm. We think it may even have been in the 40s. What a nice change from all our freezing weather lately. Most of the snow melted last night because of all the rain. Last week we had the most beautiful sunset ever! We rarely get pretty ones because we don't have clouds and often the mountains block the last glimmer of the day. But on our Friday walk it was simply spectacular. The hoar frost had been building up for days and everything had a magical glow. We took tons of photos, a few of which I uploaded on Tiny's page. Photos can never do it justice but at least give a glimpse of what we experienced. Leaving a vote for you and hoping that you're all doing fine and staying warm and dry. P.S. Yes, it's hard not chasing Acorn but I manage.

Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas with lots of family and friends with whom to share this happy holiday! I'm sure you've finished helping your family decorate and that everything looks so beautiful. It's my favourite time of year, apart from my birthday. Everything smells so good and we get extra treats and presents! Last year they made the mistake of decorating the tree with little birdies that had real feathers. This year they won't make the same mistake. Of course, that might be because I didn't leave a single one undemolished! hehe Well, it's not like I haven't told them before how much I love feathers! It will be Acorn's first Christmas. I wonder if she cares? Well, being a squirrel I'm sure she'll be happy with a few extra peanuts and blueberries. The other morning I slept in and mama came to wake me up. I could smell Acorn on her and I just looked at her accusingly. I'm not allowed to play with her but while I was snoozing away what was mama up to? My nose doesn't lie! I'm not allowed to chase her, eat her, or even lick my lips when watching her. What a waste of a perfectly good squirrel! Perhaps I'll get my own? Oh, wait! I do have Kermit! Okay, I'm happy. Well, talking of happy, I hope you have a very happy Christmas. Wishing you all the best this festive weekend! And leaving you a vote under your tree.
