The magnificent porcelain bowl.

I woke up when mommy was still in bed. I was craving a nice long drink of cool fresh water. Luckily mommy left the door open. I trotted through the living room, the house was completely still. Instead of drinking out of my normal small water dish I decided I was going to dine fancy this morning. As I stepped in the small room, the cool tile felt wonderful and inviting under my paws, especially on a hot summer day as this. There it was the magnificent porcelain water bowl. Refreshed and renewed with every push of its magic lever. Thankfully, the humans left the lid open. I checked my surroundings once more. The humans didn’t like it when I used there magic water bowl. Not a soul in sight. I then quickly lapped up some of the water, it felt so good and refreshing as it slid down my throat. When I was finally done I left to lay back down and rest some more before mommy woke up.  The facts:  Ever wonder why your dog prefers a drink out of the toilet instead of his own bowl? Well, contrary to popular belief its not just cause dogs are dogs, and like to do disgusting things. There is actually several logical reasons why a dog would prefer water out of the porcelain bowl. For one have you ever drank water out of a can? Doesn’t taste very good does it? Toilets are made of a materiel (porcelain) that doesn’t alter the taste of the water the way metal or plastic can. (Not that the toilet manufactories take that in consideration I‘m sure). The water in the toilet also stays cooler because of its porcelain container, and because its larger surface area leads to greater evaporation. The water in the toilet also hasn’t been sitting around in a little bowl for who knows how long J, because it is refreshed and renewed every time we humans use it. So, believe it or not, the toilet water actually tastes better than that of in the dogs bowl (at least to a dog‘s preference). Don’t believe me? Ask your dog! ;) Also it may have to do with the dog’s instinct in the wild to choose running water over a still puddle. Another thought is that the bathroom its self is rather inviting to a dog. The tile floors an cool surfaces make the bathroom a perfect place to lounge on a warm summer day. With a free drink! Still experts recommend not letting your dog drink out of the toilet because of chemicals we use to clean it. Easy solution: Keep the lid the down.  Hope you enjoyed my first blog!! Please tell me what you think! Have a dog gone rest of your day!!!  *Dog's smile with thier tails, from this we learn to always smile*
