Hi Daisy and Haley
I took mom the Columbia Park for mother's day. It's a major park here on the Columbia River. There were kayak races and some other activities over mother's day weekend. Mom really enjoys any kinds of events at the river. So do I - I always get to come along! :)
I've had a busy week - all in one day! Mom decided to give me the "spa treatment" a few days ago. So first she gave me a bath. THEN she took me for a LONG walk so I would dry off really well. THEN she brought me in a clipped my fur. THEN she took me back out and clipped my nails! So now she says I look like a new dog! Haha! She wants to get a couple pictures of me with my new 'do so she can post them on my page. But she keeps forgetting! :(
I have also been very busy "assisting" her with all her yardwork. I'm the official guard dog. :)
My old pal Daisy passed away last week, too, on Monday. It's okay - she was almost 17. She had a good long time here, and was failing fast. She went quietly in her sleep about 8 pm Monday night. She and I weren't really close, since she was "old" when I came here. She was a pretty good companion though, and we got along really well. It will take me awhile to get used to her not being here any more. That's kind of why mom has been paying extra attention to me, so I won't feel lonely. *sigh* I'm not really lonely though outside, just alone.... I stay inside a lot though, so it will be okay.
We have a very nice day here so far, partly cloudy, a little breeze and 65*. Bad news is it's supposed to get all overcast later, just in time to block out the solar eclipse! Wouldn't you know it? Our first chance to see a solar eclipse in this area since I don't know when, and we'll probably miss it! Grrr.... :)

Hey Daisy and Haley!
Long time no woof! :( Mom has been keeping busy with CC a little and has been resting her back since she hurt it working in the yard a couple weeks ago. Long story I won't bore you with! :)
Remember I told you I got a new chair as a guilt-gift from mom after she found the giant tick on me? She put a picture of me in my chair on my page. She did that a few days ago actually. She has REALLY gotten behind on my blogs though! Bad mom! I think I should sit on her until she gets caught up. What do you think? BOL!
Well, it seems mom wasted all her time in the yard. She got a sore back for nothing! She had some things started, mostly tomatoes and peppers, and they were up a couple inches, and then bam! We've had below freezing nights the last few nights and everything is wilted! She can NOT believe it! And get this. It was only 68* Thursday, it's supposed to be near 80* or in the low 80's today and tomorrow, and low 90's by Monday! Schizo weather, I tell ya!
Well, she doesn't need to be digging in the dirt out there anyway, I keep telling her. From what I understand they sell perfectly good tomatoes at something called a "store". SHE says they don't taste as good. Pfftt! Who cares? It's a t-o-m-a-t-o, for crying out loud. Oohh, she cooked us up a mess of chicken wings Thursday, too. Now THOSE are worth waiting for! Yum! (Don't worry, she takes all the bones out).
Mom's kids sent her a beautiful dozen roses and a box of chocolates from ProFlowers yesterday. She has the roses sitting on her computer desk (so we can't eat them. Is she no fun or what? Haha!) But she's being very self-controlled and is saving the chocolates until tomorrow. I can't believe it! She's a bona fide chocoholic! How can she stand it? I know I wouldn't be able to stand it if it was a box of chicken and turkey chunks! :)

Hi Daisy and Haley!
Tick attack! Remember when I went to the desert for my birthday? Well, that was a couple weeks ago, and guess what mom found on me Sunday - a HUGE tick! This thing was big enough to wear a leash and collar! Mom was wondering if I wanted to keep it as a pet of my own. It was GIANT! Anyway, she took it off and saved it in a jar. She cleaned me all up and I'm good as new. And she went over me with a fine tooth comb - literally. No more ticks! They bought me a new flea and tick collar and hopefully that won't happen again. I've NEVER had a tick before! *shudder* It was very traumatic. M & D felt so bad. So ....
Today mom bought herself a "new" antique platform rocking chair, and gave me her old armchair! Woohoo! I am so stoked. I LOVE that chair! Great big overstuffed thing. Also an antique. They talked about having it recovered, but decided not to. So it's MINE! All mine! I guess this makes up for the distasteful "tick incident". BOL!

Oh, yippee! I'm so glad I got the right page! Mom had accidentally deleted the message Zoie left for Ziggy before she wrote down your name, so she was going on memory. I guess this one time, she got lucky! Arf arf!
A record high here yesterday - 91*! The previous record was 86* back in 1977! I hope it's a long time before we set a new record! :) We did have a T'storm last night, which made a mess of all the "clean-up" mom's been doing out in the yard. :(
"Only" supposed to be 86* today. Then back down to the 70's by the weekend. We can always hope. I'm sure keeping my paws crossed. In the meantime, mom's heading out into the yard in a little bit to finish that "clean-up" she keeps talking about. Not to mention the mess from that darn old storm last night! It could all take til the end of the week. Hope you're having a good one! Woof!

PS - Personally I think she should just leave it alone today, since there is another T'storm in the forecast and that will just make another mess! Hahaa! ~~D~~
