Hi everyone! My name is Sparkle, (186863) I'm a retired racing Greyhound from Clearwater, Florida, and I'm running for DOTM July. I would very much like to be your Top Dog of the Month, as it is the beginning of summer and Mom's birthday is in July! It is July 26th!
Mom adopted me from a Greyhound rescue that's held every Saturday in PetSmart. They go to racetracks and rescue Greyhounds and find greyt new homes for them. When mom saw me, she couldn't figure out the reason why no one adopted me right on the spot. She asked about me, and found out that my racing name was RPM-Sparky and I won 13 races in first place. Ever since then I was called Sparkle, based on my racing name, and mom adopted me right then and there. She never regretted it! I now know that I have a forever home.
I have made so many wonderful friends here on DogChannel. Mommy has too! I am looking forward to meeting many new friends during my DOTM run.
My theme is Help Save the Greys & Summer Fun. I wanted to do something special this month, something that helps a cause. As some of you know, Greyhounds race. Sometimes, when Greyhounds don't win or they do "bad" their kennel owners hurt them, or even worse, euthanize them. And when they are going at their top speed, when they make a turn, it results in falling, while breaking a toe or leg. This month I will be posting Greyhound poems, facts, quotes, and more. Also, for each vote I get, mom will donate a nickel to the Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions. They have a donation box that goes to help rescue and save Greyhounds. I am hoping to gain 1,000 votes, which will be $50.00 donated! I will also be posting summer fun activities and tips. (Half month activities, next half tips) My profile pic will also be changed every day.
I am really excited for my July DOTM run, I hope you will support me with a daily click of my vote bone. Remember, every vote goes to a greyt cause. Thank you!
