Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.

Hi Cheyenne & Chip,
Mom took me for a nice long walk on Saturday since the day turned out so nice. My snow is almost gone now, but what's left is crunchy in the morning and I don't like walking on it to go outside and do my business. It's supposed to cool off later in the week, which I don't like either. But it's February in Wisconsin and it has been a really mild winter so far. I just hope we don't get surprised later with lots of snow and cold causing spring to be delayed in arriving. Have a great week. Leaving you a vote. Shepherd hugs, Contessa

so did you enjoy your walk in the Parkway? It sounds like a nice place to go. Sorry to hear your mom was hurting this weekend, hope she's doing better now. It's nice that she has you two to take her mind off that every now and then. I'll bet you guys help her alot with that.
We had a nice weekend, nothing madatory to do but we got lots done anyway. Toodles and Blade got baths and clipped up. The puppies were let outside to run, that was funny! They kept stopping suddenly and cocked their heads everytime a bird made a noise or a plane went over. It's really fun watching them experience so many things that are new to them and old hat to me! I forget sometimes how much I had to learn when I was a pup! They are doing well though so I don't see them having to many issues. Mom is going to register them with the AKC so she's settled on "A.J., Nimue, Lancelot, and Pixie" as their names. Really long AKC Names too! Little Pixie is so small mom said she had to name her something little! Hee Hee. She's only 3.4 pounds the next closest to her is Nim at 6.5 pounds!
We did watch the Superbowl this weekend, actually mom listened more than watched because she started to scrapebook her project that she's been working on, so I got to lay at her feet on the big dog bed and just relax all evening! I loved it!

Happy Sunday. Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Hope you get to feeling better soon & the vet figures out what is wrong with you. Your symptons sound alot like mine when I was diagnosed with Addisons. You may want to opt to have some bloodwork done even if your vet doesn't suggest it. If mom hadn't asked the vet to do blood work on me, I most likely wouldn't be here to bark with you today. Better safe than sorry.
Friday evening mom took Money & Pooh to the vet for their annual vaccines. Everything checked out OK on them except that Pooh has gained 5 lbs. He weighed 89 lbs. So poor Pooh has to go on a diet since we don’t want him blowing out a knee due to the extra weight.
Mom & the vet were also discussing me & my Addisons. Our vet believes that my seizures were the result of the Addisons. He thinks the seizures will stop. So we are crossing our paws that he is right & I will eventually be able to stop taking the seizure meds. Mom also asked him for a ballpark figure on the cost of my monthly shot for the Addisons. The shot cost $106 at Purdue & they said it would probably cost even more at our local vet. But they don’t know our vet. Our vet doesn’t raise prices on meds or lab work. They charge what they have to pay. So my shot will be cost somewhere around $75 to $80 dollars a month.
I went to the groomer yesterday & mom was telling her all that I had been through lately. She couldn’t believe that all that had happened since they had seen me last. Mom did warn her that I might not be the model dog on the grooming table anymore as my energy levels have increased. She managed to make me look beautiful again & minimized the appearance of the bare spots from where Purdue had to shave me to do tests & insert the IV’s. When mom picked me up, I was still full of energy & not tired at all. I came home & played Abbie into the ground. Mom says Abbie looked exhausted but oh sooo happy that her play buddy is back.
So yesterday I did get into a little bit of trouble. We had this plastic container that mom keeps our Pupcorn in. We ran out of Pupcorn & the store mom wnet to yesterday didn’t have Pupcorn so she got something else. So she put the Pupcorn container in the sink so that she could wash it. Well you know who has legs long enough to go sink diving. Yep, that would be me who mom found with the Pupcorn container on the kitchen floor trying to stick his head inside to get every last crumb.
