How We Met?

Jessie was abused from a nieghbor by being tied up for her life outside, so she kept running away to our house (which had her secret boy friend) so we kept taking her back, but one day when we took her back, they moved with out her, so we kept her.

Stopping by to say Hi

We were browsing through the Dog Profiles to see who has been on DC a long time because we're new and we came across your profile. We're sorry that you had such a bad first owner but we're glad you kept going next door and ended up with your current owner! We had a dog who lived behind us like you. His name was Sarge and he was a Rottweiler. He kept jumping the fence to get into our yard and his owner kept finding new ways to keep him in the yard. He put up a higher fence, chained him up, etc. but Sarge always found a way out and when he couldn't jump, he walked around the block to our house! My mom would rescue him when it was cold and snowing and he was tied outside in back of the garage all day and night because he was being punished for "barking". The owner would always come and take him home. One time Sarge ran in our back door and hid in my mom's bedroom. She had to drag him out of our house and he tried to jump the gate to get away when he saw his owner. My mom felt so bad when she returned him. She wanted to "steal" him and find him a better home but she knew she'd get in trouble. Sarge was lonely and sad. All he wanted was to play with Quinn, the lab my mom had before us and to be loved by my mom. Sarge ended up being picked up by the dog catcher on our porch when my mom wasn't home. The owner never went to claim him even though my mom went to his house to let him know. My mom went to the pound and visited Sarge and told the dog catcher his story. Two ladies were there at the time and because they saw how happy he was to see my mom and how gentle, loving and well behaved he was, they rescued him and he ended up being adopted by the vet who was fostering him! His name was changed and he even got a "brother" to play with out of the deal! So, I'm happy that the two of you ended up with happy endings to very bad beginnings! Dusty had bad beginnings too but he doesn't like to talk about them. All we know is that he was abused and xrays show that he had a broken front leg and a broken hip at some time AND he hates men that wear work boots! I see that you are a senior dog now so is Dusty. He is 15 yo. I hope all the years in between have been very good ones for you. Here's a vote for you! Hope we can be friends... Stop in and visit us sometime!

Come visit me, Dusty is now an Angel. He passed Nov 2012, Now there's 3! Chico (black & tan) died suddenly April 2013
