Hi Baby!

We're behind on DC blogs again since all yesterday we were working with our pics and looking for a new editing site now that one that we always used is closing. :( Our Valentines pics are up on DC today, and more should be coming! Today Peanut was licking a yogurt container to get the last of it, and he had his whole head in it licking...so mom took plenty of pics and a video, BOL! Hi Baby!

We just wanted to say thanks again for wishing Muffin a Happy Birthday yesterday! She had so much fun. We want to upload the pictures today, but we'll see how that goes. Just got all our older pics organized and it's already getting messy again. BOL! Wish you were here to pawty with us yesterday :) Today is finally cloudy with a chance of rain later on. We're hoping it cools us off more (been in the 70s) but if they're right, we should be back in the high 80s by the weekend, yuck. Well today is a stay inside kind of day and that's just what we plan on doing. Left a vote! *hugs* Muffin, Brandon and Peanut

Hi Baby!

We're back from our short break from being online!! We sure needed it. Well, we have a lot of catching up to do today. Mommy hasn't been feeling the greatest, and we have things planned all week again there aren't probably going to be any trips to the lake this week :( Hopefully more soon though! Summer is going just too fast. Left a vote! *hugs* Muffin, Brandon and Peanut

Hi Baby!

Finally it's almost the weekend, BOL! Sorry we didn't get online yesterday. This week has been super busy - every day we had something going on that took up most of the day. Well, yesterday was the farm with Brandon. There is a river on the property so we thought Brandon might have gotten to go swimming, since we went down to the river last time with him (it was around 30 degrees though), but he still couldn't, this time there were lots of new plants there that would need to be mowed down (we didn't walk through them because there was poison ivy on the trail before it was mowed, so there was probably some in the taller weeds as well), and the mosquitoes there (and here) have been terrible this year. There are just swarms everywhere...including in the house! Brandon has been snapping at them and Muffin will too, so that's how we find out there's one inside - and yesterday we found at least 10 inside. At least there's less inside now! Bug spray helps, hehe! And tomorrow we might not get on DC again, we have friends coming over that live a couple hours away and they usually spend most of the day. We should be getting on until the 12th and 13th when we might not be able to again..although we'll be trying, especially because the 13th is Muffin's birthday!! 6 years old already. Her and Brandon will be seniors next year...wow! Hard to believe! Left a vote. *hugs* Muffin, Brandon and Peanut

Thanks for your support, Baby!

All stories I find will always have a happy ending, don't worry. (-: Hi friends! Not much to bark about today. I got a bath yesterday. (Don't want to talk about that!) Mom is going to help me with my blogs so she can take me on a walk before it gets too hot. Today I'm leaving you guys a couple Q&A about Greyhounds. Oh, Alabama Gang left me vote 1,900! Thanks guys for helping me get this far!! (-: ♥ Help Save the Greys ♥ Do Greyhounds shed a lot? It seems to vary a lot from dog to dog. Some will shed an appreciable amount, others hardly at all. "Appreciable" means that when you use a curry comb, you can get loose hair off the dog. There is some thought (and anectodal evidence) that lighter colored Greyhounds shed more than dark ones do! However, bear in mind that even a so-called "heavily shedding" Greyhound would shed a lot less than say, a Dalmatian or a German Shepherd Dog. I've heard they aren't good with children. Is this true? Many breed description books will list the Greyhound as being too "highstrung" to tolerate children. This is false. Most Greyhounds have a very calm disposition, and many of them are good with children, especially if they are raised around well-mannered children. In general, any dog, of any breed, that has not been raised around children or has an unknown background, must be watched carefully. In any case, all interaction between dogs and children, no matter how trustworthy either are, should be supervised by an adult. Don't they need a lot of exercise? They need less exercise than you would think. Greyhounds are primarily a sprinting breed, rather than an endurance one. They are happy with several good runs a week -- and will lie on your couch all the rest of the time! ☀ Summer Fun ☀ Agility. In, out, over and through this sport is all about working as a team. As they run up ramps, snake through tunnels and race across balance beams, you’ll need to be guiding them every step of the way, which means that you both get lots of exercise in the process. Thank you all for your support and votes! You guys are greyt! Love, Sparkle* (186863)

Hi Baby!

Working at the fire department sounds fun on the 4th of July, hehe! HAPPY 4th of JULY!!! Today is America's 235th B'day :) And is it ever going to be a busy day for us. Mommy said as soon as our blogs are done, we need to get some things done around the house plus we wanted to experiment with our camera, hehe. After that we leave to go to Gma's house for the fireworks (she lives by the park and we can avoid the crowds and have the best view of the fireworks, so it's great). If any of us go, it'd just be Peanut, since that town is really loud on the 4th (our city is usually "quiet" compared to there, which we don't understand at all) and Gma's 2 poodles and Scooby the Pekingese don't like big dogs, and Peanut loves the fireworks...then we would be heading home to do our fireworks. Too many big booms for poor Muffy today!! Left a vote and hope you have a pawsome 4th of July :) *hugs* Muffin, Brandon and Peanut P.S. Thank you all so much for our 4th of July Avatar Contest win and everyone who voted!

♡ Baby and Family (-:

Happy 4th of July! There was fireworks last night, and I was shaking because I was so scared. They were close too, so it hurt my ears a lot. Thankfully it started raining, so people stopped firing the fireworks. Mom is going to a big BBQ party tonight. She promised to bring me back something yummy. This story was submitted to a greyhound website on July 4th, so I felt it would be right to share it with you guys. ♥ Help Save the Greys ♥ My family went on holiday, so they took me to the kennels for mine. It was very basic, no heating and the food was sparse too. I was supposed to be there for two weeks, and was desperate to go home, but the weeks turned into months, and life was grim. It became obvious they were not going to come back for me, not now or ever. My heart was sad and my spirits low, how could they do this to me? I had given them ten years of my life and this is how they repaid me. Yes, trust is a deadly disease, and now I am paying the price for trusting them. I was moved to death row where all the strays wait until they are executed after seven days. Some dogs are homed, but my age was against me, no one wanted a thin old dog. Terrified of my fate, I lay in my kennel waiting for the vet to put me to sleep, all the time hoping my family would come back for me. It was early one Sunday morning when the staff at the dog pound opened my kennel door. I thought this is it, I must meet my fate with dignity, my suffering was now over, and at least I would not be locked in a cold kennel anymore. I was taken to the office where a man was waiting for me. He stroked my head and said, “Hello Fay, you are coming home with me.” I was very wary, as I sat on the back seat of the car; I only hoped that who ever this man was, he was going to take me to a better place. After a long drive, we arrived at a place called Hilton House. There were so many old dogs, and two of them had come from the same place that I had. They all wagged their tails at me, and immediately I felt safe. My nails were so long I could hardly walk, so a trip to the vets was necessary. I was given antibiotics and a good check over. When I got back home, I was given a good feed. I was starving, so I ate my meal very quickly, and then I was taken for a walk with a couple of the other dogs. I have now settled in, and I am very happy. I know this will be my forever home, because my new mum and dad rescue greyhounds and old dogs. I have been given a second chance, so I am very blessed, and I love my new family to bits. Love Fay xxx ☀ Summer Fun ☀ Go for a ride. Dogs just love being in the car. If you're running a quick errand like putting letter in the post box, picking up dry cleaning at a drive thru window, or picking up your child from summer camp, let your dog come along for the ride. But never leave him in the car alone even for a few minutes. Thank you all for your support and votes! You guys are greyt! Love, Sparkle*
