Alabama Gang/Please vote us (#43042) DOTM in June!!

Alabama Gang/Please vote us (#43042) DOTM in June!! Mommy's daddy came to live with us & she started working weekends. One Saturday in March 2009 she pulled into the driveway, opened the car door and this black puppy without any fur on her head jumped im mommy's lap. Daddy has said "NO more dogs we have 4 no more!" Daddy was on the front porch. "Whose puppy" mommy asked. "I don't know. I was looking at your dad's old house and this green truck pulled up out front and the man got out put the puppy & a can of dog food on the sidewalk then drove away. She came over to us & followed me around so I brought her home I thought we could keep her until Monday then you could take her to the humane society. Mommy looked at daddy "do you know who your talking to?" Monday morning mommy took Prissy Maybell Jones to the vet. She had red mange. She's in remission has been for 8 years. Prissy is part pt bull & part chow chow. 4 months later we all moved to 30 acres. Which is a good thing since Prissy could climb the chain linked fence. Prissy is still in remission and doing great!

Alabama Gang/Please vote us (#43042) DOTM in June!! Mommy worked in the nursing home until 2006 then she got a job closer to home. Mommy worked 3p till 11p. One night while Mommy & another nurse was eating supper a woman who worked in the kitchen came & sit down at their table the woman introduced herself told mommy she knew the girl that gave her Ruff and told mommy she had a 2 year old basset hound named Bubba. She was working 2 jobs and never sent any time with Bubba except to feed him. She said Bubba was always alone. She wanted mommy to take him. Mommy said she'd talk to daddy. Daddy said..NO! Mommy begged and begged until daddy said...well bring him home and we'll see. Bubba was the funniest doggie any of us had ever seen. He loves everyone! Miss Lady and Poochie would chase each other then chase Ruff & Bubba. Ruff was so clumsy he'd fall over his own paws and Bubba would trip on his ears! Bubba was red with white on his paws and chest. Bubba was born in 2004.He soon will be 12 and he now has a lot of white on him. When we moved out next to the woods with no fence Bubba and Ruff loved hunting. But Bubba has slowed down a lot.Mommy has a little song she always sang to Bubba...Bubba Roo...Bubba Roo...I love you...my Bubba Roo

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 30 of my campaign and Memorial Day! Take time today to remember and honor all the fallen heroes. Today I will tell you about THE HISTORY OF MEMORIAL DAY: Originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags, Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. It was first widely observed on May 30, 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers, by proclamation of Gen. John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of former Union sailors and soldiers. During that first national celebration, former Union Gen. and sitting Ohio Congressman James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, after which 5,000 participants helped to decorate the graves of the more than 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers who were buried there. This event was inspired by local observances of the day that had taken place in several towns throughout America in the three years after the Civil War. In 1873, New York was the first state to designate Memorial Day as a legal holiday. By the late 1800s, many more cities and communities observed Memorial Day, and several states had declared it a legal holiday. After World War I, it became an occasion for honoring those who died in all of America’s wars and was then more widely established as a national holiday throughout the United States. WHEN IS MEMORIAL DAY? In 1971, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act and established that Memorial Day was to be celebrated on the last Monday of May. Several southern states, however, officially celebrate an additional, separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead, sometimes referred to as a Confederate Memorial Day: January 19 in Texas; third Monday in Jan. in Arkansas; fourth Monday in Apr. in Alabama and Mississippi; April 26 in Florida and Georgia; May 10 in North and South Carolina; last Monday in May in Virginia; and June 3 in Louisiana and Tennessee. Memorial Day is celebrated at Arlington National Cemetery each year with a ceremony in which a small American flag is placed on each grave. Traditionally, the President or Vice President lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. About 5,000 people attend the ceremony annually. “We do not know one promise these men made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men and citizens. For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.” - James A. Garfield, May 30, 1868 Arlington National Cemetery. In 1915, inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields,” Moina Michael replied with her own poem: “We cherish too, the Poppy red, That grows on fields where valor led, It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies.” She then conceived of an idea to wear red poppies on Memorial day in honor of those who died serving the nation during war. She was the first to wear one, and sold poppies to her friends and co-workers with the money going to benefit servicemen in need. Later a Madam Guerin from France was visiting the United States and learned of this new custom started by Ms. Michael. When she returned to France she made artificial red poppies to raise money for war orphaned children and widowed women. This tradition spread to other countries. In 1921, the Franco-American Children’s League sold poppies nationally to benefit war orphans of France and Belgium. The League disbanded a year later and Madam Guerin approached the VFW for help. Shortly before Memorial Day in 1922 the VFW became the first veterans’ organization to nationally sell poppies. Two years later their “Buddy” Poppy program was selling artificial poppies made by disabled veterans. In 1948 the US Post Office honored Ms. Michael for her role in founding the National Poppy movement by issuing a red 3 cent postage stamp with her likeness on it. NATIONAL MOMENT OF REMEMBRANCE: The “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to ‘Taps.” Stay tuned...I will surprise you with something tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun & safe Memorial Day! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 29 of my campaign. Good Grief…the month is almost over! Today it was about 83ºF and cloudy when we did our morning laps. It felt a little hot out there again so we didn’t play or do any running. I was a very good girl yesterday and so far today! YAY! As you all know, it is Sunday and we are going to the park! YAY! Today I will finish telling you more about FOOD AGRESSION: WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: Here are some of the techniques you can use: 1. Hand feeding: Start your dog’s meal by giving him food by hand, and use your hands to put the food in the bowl, which will give it your scent. The goal is to get your dog used to eating while your hands are around his face, and to have no aggressive reaction if you stick your hands in or near the bowl while he’s eating. 2. Treat tossing: Drop your dog’s favorite treats into the bowl while she’s eating so she’ll learn that people approaching the bowl is a good thing and not a threat. You can also put treats into the bowl when you walk near it and she’s not eating. This reinforces the connection in your dog’s mind that people near her bowl is good. 3. “Trade-Up”: When your dog is eating their regular food, approach them with something better, like meat or a special treat. The goal here is to get your dog to stop eating their food to take the treat from you. This teaches your dog several things. One is that no one is going to steal his food if he looks away from it. The other is that removing his attention from his food when people come around leads to a reward. WHAT’S GOING ON? In rehabilitating a food aggressive dog, two things are happening. One is that you’re desensitizing your dog so that she will no longer become protective when anybody approaches her while she’s eating. The other is that you’re counterconditioning your dog by teaching her to associate people approaching her bowl with good things. There are many other techniques you can use to reduce food aggression or to prevent it from happening in the first place. The key, as always, is to be calm, assertive, and consistent. The term “food aggression” can be misleading because people can easily interpret it as dominance, and it really is better to think of it as resource guarding. As humans, we need to establish our place as Pack Leader, and teach our dogs that there’s no reason to guard their food from us. Source: https://www.cesarsway.com/dog-behavior/food-aggressive/food-aggression-and-what-to-do-about-it. Mom was pretty successful with all the methods I have told you about. She also did other things like letting Sheba eat out of my bowl first and then letting me finish. Mom also handled my food with her fingers and then “ate” out of my bowl before letting me eat. I used to have to eat by myself but Mom gradually moved my bowl closer and closer to Sheba and now we eat side-by-side at the raised diner. Mom makes us sit and wait until she puts our food in our bowls. Then she says: “Sheba go eat.” After Sheba has been eating her food for a little while, she says: “Brandi, go eat.” Mom also gives Sheba her treats first before I get mine. It all works well at establishing my order in the pack, which I have to say, is pretty far down! Stay tuned…I will talk about the meaning of Memorial Day tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Sunday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 28 of my campaign. The month is almost over! Today it was about 81ºF and cloudy when we did our morning laps. It felt a little hot out there so we didn’t play or do any running. Mom is going to stay inside again today in the A/C and do things in here. YAY! We like it when she is here with us! I was a very good girl yesterday and so far today! YAY! As you all know, I came with a few problems when Mom adopted me and brought me home. I will tell you about some of them. Today I will tell you more about FOOD AGRESSION: WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: 1. The first step is to assess your dog’s overall behavior. Is she only showing possessiveness over food, or does the behavior extend to other things, like favorite toys, resting spots, or even people in the pack? 2. If the behavior isn’t limited to food, then your dog is showing general resource guarding, so you’ll need to use the techniques listed below as appropriate in all cases where your dog is showing aggression using the target object instead of food. 3. Also assess your dog’s overall confidence and behavior. If he is naturally a dominant dog, then you will need to assert yourself as the Pack Leader in a calm and assertive way. On the other hand, if he is timid or fearful, you will need to build up his confidence and teach him that his food is safe with humans around. 4. Finally, determine whether your dog’s food aggression is mild, moderate, or severe. For severe cases, start off by consulting a professional until you can get the dog down to a moderate level. Once you’ve completed these steps, you’re ready to start changing the behavior. Here are some of the techniques to use: BE CONSISTENT: If the source of your dog’s aggression is fear or anxiety over when the next meal is coming, then be sure that you are feeding your dog at the same times every single day. Dogs have a very good internal clock, and with consistency, they quickly learn how to tell when it’s time to get up, time to go for a walk, or time for the people to come home. Mealtime should be no different. Be regular in feeding to take away the anxiety. MUST WORK FOR FOOD: Before you even begin to prepare your dog’s food, make her sit or lie down and stay, preferably just outside of the room you feed her in. Train her to stay even after you’ve set the bowl down and, once the bowl is down, stand close to it as you release her from the stay and she begins eating, at which point you can then move away. Always feed your dog after the walk, never before. This fulfills his instinct to hunt for food, so he’ll feel like he’s earned it when you come home. Also, exercising a dog after he eats can be dangerous, even leading to life-threatening conditions like bloat. PACK LEADERS EAT FIRST: Remember, when a wild pack has a successful hunt, the alpha dogs eat first, before everyone else, and it should be no different in a human/dog pack. Never feed your dog before or while the humans are eating. Humans eat first and then, when they’re finished, the dogs eat. This will reinforce your status as the Pack Leader. “WIN” THE BOWL: Food aggression can actually be made worse if you back away from the bowl, because that’s what your dog wants. For every time that you do walk away when the dog is showing food aggression, the dog “wins.” The reward is the food and this just reinforces the aggression. Of course, you don’t want to come in aggressively yourself, especially with moderate to severe food aggression, because that is a good way to get bitten. However, you can recondition the dog until she learns that she wins when she lets you come near her while eating. Stay tuned…more about FOOD AGGRESSION tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Saturday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 27 of my campaign. Can you believe that the month is almost over already?! Where did it go? I was a bad girl yesterday afternoon and got into one of the kitty litter boxes. Guess I was looking for a snack? Mom got mad at me and I got scolded and put in time-out. I missed out on my afternoon snacks, too! Plus Sheba & Mom went for a ride without me! Sheba wouldn’t play with me last night either. She was mad at me, too! I was so sad. Mom had a good talk with me last night and hopes I will be better today. Today it was about 81ºF, sunny and hot when we did our morning laps. It felt hot out there so we didn’t play or do any running. Mom is going to stay inside again today in the A/C and do things in here. YAY! We like it when she is here with us! As you all know, I came with a few problems when Mom adopted me and brought me home. I will tell you about some of them. Today I will tell you about FOOD AGRESSION: When a dog shows aggression to protect his food, it can be a serious issue. Not only is there the danger of other dogs or humans in the house being bitten, but over time it can lead to the dog becoming possessive over everything. What is food aggression? Food aggression is a form of resource guarding in which a dog becomes very defensive when eating, using threats to force others away. It can be directed towards other animals, humans, or both. The behavior can also extend to treats. There are three degrees of food aggression: 1. Mild: the dog growls and may show its teeth. 2. Moderate: the dog snaps or lunges when approached 3. Severe: the dog bites. While it’s easy to assume that all cases of food aggression are a show of dominance, this isn’t necessarily the case. In a dog pack, the alpha dogs always eat first after a successful hunt, and then the other dogs get what’s left according to their pack position. For an alpha dog, showing food aggression is a form of dominance, but for dogs with a lower pack position, it can be a sign of anxiety or fearfulness. Remember, in the wild, dogs never know where or when their next meal will be, so it’s very instinctual for them to gobble up whatever food there is whenever they have it — and to protect it from anything that approaches. How to recognize food aggression: When a dog is eating, his body will stiffen and he may keep his head down. He is using his body language to “hover” over the meal and protect it. Other signs are that the whites of your dog’s eyes may be visible, their ears are held back, their tail is lowered, or their hackles may rise. A dog may show any or all of these signs. Finally, there are the abovementioned signs of the severity of the problem: growling, lunging, or biting. Stay tuned…more about FOOD AGGRESSION tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Friday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 26 of my campaign. Can you believe that the month is almost over already?! Where did it go? Today it was about 84ºF, sunny and hot when we did our morning laps. It felt hot out there so we didn’t play or do any running. Mom is going to stay inside today in the A/C and do things in here. YAY! We like it when she is here with us! Today I will tell you more about the CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVER: LIVING CONDITIONS: Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are not recommended for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least an average-sized yard. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers often enjoy sleeping outdoors if it is cooler outside, as they prefer cool climates. EXERCISE: The Chesapeake Bay Retriever needs a good deal of vigorous activity, including swimming if possible. If they do not get enough exercise they may become badly behaved from boredom and bottled up energy. They need to be taken on a daily brisk, long walk or jog where the dog is made to heel. They should never be allowed to walk out in front of the person holding the lead, as in a dog's mind, the leader leads the way and that leader needs to be the human. GROOMING: The dense, harsh, short-haired coat is oily with a distinct smell and is easy to groom. Brush with a firm bristle brush to remove the dead hairs. While the Chesapeake needs the occasional bath to prevent any noticeable odor, they should not be bathed so often that the oily texture is stripped out. The oily coat helps protect the dog from icy waters. This breed is an average shedder. ORIGIN: In the winter of 1807, an English ship with two Newfoundlands on board wrecked off the coast of Maryland. Everyone was saved, and the two dogs were given to a family of dog lovers. They were later mated with local retrievers including English Otter Hounds, Flat-Coated Retrievers and Curly-Coated Retrievers. Careful breeding over the years has created an outstanding retriever with incredible enthusiasm and endurance. The dogs were used to hunt waterfowl in the rough and icy waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever has been known to retrieve hundreds of birds in a single day in frigid waters. This lively, enthusiastic hunter will come out of a river or marsh with only a few drops of water remaining on its oily coat, and these are quickly eliminated with a shake. Water rolls off the dog like a duck. Some of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever's talents include: tracking, hunting, retrieving, guarding, watchdog, Schutzhund, field spots and competitive obedience. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever was recognized by the AKC in 1878. GROUP: Gun Dog, AKC Sporting Group. RECOGNITION: ACA = American Canine Association Inc., ACR = American Canine Registry, AKC = American Kennel Club, ANKC = Australian National Kennel Club, APRI = American Pet Registry, Inc., CKC = Canadian Kennel Club, CKC = Continental Kennel Club, DRA = Dog Registry of America, Inc., FCI = Fédération Cynologique Internationale, KCGB = Kennel Club of Great Britain, NAPR = North American Purebred Registry, Inc., NZKC = New Zealand Kennel Club, NKC = National Kennel Club, UKC = United Kennel Club. Mom found this info on www.dogbreedinfo.com. Hope you enjoyed learning about the Chesapeake Bay Retriever! Sheba is a pretty pawsome mix, isn’t she?! Stay tuned…more dog info tomorrow! ♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! It is day 25 of my campaign. Today it was about 82ºF, sunny and hot when we did our morning laps. Mom has to finish mowing today, so it looks like we will stay inside in the A/C and nap! The next couple of days, I will tell you about the breeds that my big sister, Sheba, is. How could I have forgotten to talk about her? BOL! She is part Golden Retriever and part Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Today I will tell you about the CHESAPEAKE BAY RETRIEVER: DESCRIPTION: The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a powerful, muscular dog. The head is broad with a medium stop. The muzzle is about the same length as the skull, tapering but not to a point. The wide-set eyes are yellowish to amber in color. The small ears are high set, hanging loosely. The teeth meet in a scissors or level bite. The lips are thin. The tail is medium in length, heavy at the base. Dewclaws on the back legs are usually removed and on the front legs may or may not be removed. The feet have webbed toes to aid in swimming. The oily, short coat is dense with a wave. The oils in the coat not only repel the water like a duck’s feathers do, but help the dog dry quickly, enabling the dog to swim in colder waters. Coat colors include brown, red, sedge or tan in the shade of dead grass. Sometimes there is a small white spot on the breast, belly, toes or back of the feet. HEIGHT, WEIGHT: Height: Males 23 - 26 inches (58 - 66 cm) Females 21 - 24 inches (53 - 61 cm), Weight: Males 65 - 80 pounds (29 - 36 kg) Females 55 - 70 pounds (25 - 32 kg). LIFE EXPECTANCY: About 10-12 years. LITTER SIZE: About 7 to 10 puppies. HEALTH PROBLEMS: Prone to eye problems and hip dysplasia. TEMPERAMENT: These are intelligent, brave and obedient dogs. They are trainable, willing and able to please, although they may be a little slow to learn. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are affectionate, loving, friendly and good with children. They have a passion for water, swimming and retrieving. This breed will get along with cats that are already living in your house, but may chase other cats. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is not recommended for an inexperienced new dog owner. The handler needs to be confident, exerting a natural authority over the dog. A firm, consistent, but kind approach is the most successful way to handle them. If possible, attend obedience classes with this breed. Proper canine to human communication is essential. The Chesapeake can be fairly dominant and will become willful and may develop dominance problems if it senses the owners are passive, meek or timid. Be sure to properly train and socialized them. Take your puppy out with you as much as possible and introduce it to other dogs so that it has a chance to feel relaxed with them. The Chesapeake tends to be more dominant than other retrievers. Without the proper leadership they can become territorial, aggressive, willful, reserved with strangers and may not get along with other dogs. Chessies are strong canines that require firm training and good management. Chesapeakes are usually slow to mature. With the right owners they are a joy to own. Stay tuned…I will tell you MORE about the Chesapeake Bay Retriever tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Wednesday! BBS. ♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Today is day 23 of campaign. 8 more days to go! Hope you enjoyed reading about the Labrador Retriever. Sorry I am writing late, but Mom went somewhere with our neighbor this afternoon. And…she had the nerve to leave us at home! Not nice!! Yesterday it was really nice out, it was 77ºF and sunny with low humidity and a really nice breeze. It was perfect out! A perfect day for the park! YAY! It was a lot of fun. I met some kids and they were nice. Today it was about 77ºF and sunny with a nice breeze and low humidity when we did our morning laps. It was nice out! The next couple of days, I will tell you about the breeds that my big sister, Sheba, is. How could I have forgotten to talk about her? BOL! She is part Golden Retriever and part Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Today I will tell you about the GOLDEN RETRIEVER: DESCRIPTION: The Golden Retriever is a sturdy, medium-large sized dog. The skull is broad and the muzzle is straight, tapering slightly with a well-defined stop. The nose is black or a brownish black. The teeth meet in a scissors bite. The medium to large eyes are dark brown. The relatively short ears hang down close to the cheeks. When pulled forward the tip of the ear should just cover the eye. The tail is thick at the base with feathering along the underside. Dewclaws may be removed. The water-resistant coat is dense with a firm, straight or wavy outer coat. There is an untrimmed feathering on the underbelly, back of the legs, front of the neck and underside of the tail. Coat color comes in cream to a rich golden. TEMPERAMENT: These are lovable, well-mannered, intelligent dogs with a great charm. They are easily trained, and always patient and gentle with children. Charming, devoted and self-assured, they are a popular family dog. Energetic and loving, Golden Retrievers enjoy pleasing their masters, so obedience training can be very rewarding. They excel in competitions. Friendly with everyone, including other dogs, the Golden Retriever has very little, if any, guarding instincts. While unlikely to attack, Goldens make good watchdogs, loudly signaling a stranger's approach. This breed needs to be around people who display leadership to be happy. The Golden Retriever may become destructive and/or high-strung, over-exuberant and distractible if he is lacking in daily mental and physical exercise. Be sure to remain this dog’s firm, but calm, confident, consistent pack leader to avoid behavioral issues. Some of the Golden's talents are hunting, tracking, retrieving, narcotics detection, agility, competitive obedience and performing tricks. These dogs also love to swim. HEIGHT, WEIGHT: Height: Males 22 - 24 inches (56 - 61cm) Females 20 - 22 inches (51 - 56 cm);Weight: Dogs 60 - 80 pounds (27 - 36 kg) Females 55 - 70 pounds (25 – 32 kg). LITTER SIZE: About 5 to 10 puppies. LIFE EXPECTANCY: About 10-12 years. Stay tuned…more about the Golden Retriever tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! ♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Today is day 22 of campaign. 9 more days to go! Hope you are enjoying reading about the Labrador Retriever. Yesterday it was really nice out, but Mom had work to do in the house, so we were inside most of the day. We did get all our walks in and got a ride down the road and back, so that was good! Today it was 77ºF and sunny with low humidity and a really nice breeze. It was perfect out! In a little while we are going to the park! YAY! Can’t wait! It will be a perfect day for the park! WOOHOO!! MORE ABOUT THE LABRADOR RETRIEVER: TEMPERAMENT: One of the most popular breeds in the USA, the Labrador Retriever is loyal, loving, affectionate and patient, making a great family dog. Highly intelligent, good-natured, very willing and eager to please, it is among the top choices for service dog work. Labs love to play, especially in water, never wanting to pass up the opportunity for a good swim. These lively dogs have an excellent, reliable temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human leadership and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. Some may be reserved with strangers unless very well socialized, preferably while they are still puppies. Adult Labs are very strong; train them while they are puppies to heel on the leash, and not to bolt out doorways and gateways before the humans. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They can become destructive if the humans are not 100% pack leader and/or if they do not receive enough mental and physical exercise, and left too much to their own devices. Show lines are generally heavier and easier going than field lines. Field lines tend to be very energetic and will easily become high strung without enough exercise. Labs bred from English lines (English Labs) are more calm and laid back than Labradors bred from American lines. English Labs mature quicker than the American type. HEIGHT, WEIGHT: Height: Males 22 - 24 inches (56 - 61cm) Females 21 - 23 inches (53 - 58 cm); Weight: Males 60 - 75 pounds (27 - 34 kg) Females 55 - 70 pounds (25 - 32 kg). ♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Today is day 21 of campaign. 10 more days to go! Hope you enjoyed reading about the German Shepherd dog. Yesterday it was wet out when we did our morning laps, but we went anyway. It started raining when we tried to do our afternoon laps, but we waited until it stopped. It rained off and on all day! Good for Moms new plants and flowers, but boring for us! Mom worked inside and we were bored! Looks like she will work more inside today. BORING! But at least the sun is shining and it is nice for our walks. Maybe we’ll get some playtime later when she is done. MORE ME: I will now tell you about the other part of me, which is Labrador Retriever. ORIGIN: Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. The Lab is native to Newfoundland, where it worked side by side with fishermen catching fish that came loose from the lines and trained to jump into the icy waters to help pull in the nets. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800s by English ships coming from Labrador. The breed was crossed with setters, spaniels and other types of retrievers to improve its instincts as a hunter. The Labrador is highly trainable and is not only popular as a family companion but also excels in: hunting, tracking, retrieving, watchdog, police work, narcotics detection, guide for the blind, service dog for the disabled, search and rescue, sledding, carting, agility, field trial competitor and competitive obedience. DESCRIPTION: There are two types of Labradors, the English Labrador and the American Labrador. The English bred Lab comes from English bred stock. Its general appearance is different than the American bred Lab. The English bred Labs are heavier, thicker and blockier. The American bred Lab comes from American bred stock and is tall and lanky. The double coat is smooth and does not have any waves. Coat colors come in solid black, yellow or chocolate. There is also said to be a rare silver or gray color that is referred to by the AKC as a shade of chocolate. This color is controversial and some claim it is a Weimaraner cross, while others say it is a true mutation. The head of the Labrador is broad with a moderate stop. The nose is thick, black on black and yellow dogs and brown on chocolate dogs. The nose color often fades and is not considered a fault in the show ring. The teeth should meet in a scissors or level bite. The muzzle is fairly wide. The neck is proportionately wide and powerful. The body is slightly longer than tall. The short, hard coat is easy to care for and water-resistant. The medium-sized eyes are set well apart. Eye color should be brown in yellow and black dogs and hazel or brown in chocolate dogs. Some Labs can also have green or greenish-yellow eyes. In silver dogs the eye color is usually gray. The eye rims are black in yellow and black dogs and brown in chocolate dogs. The ears are medium in size, hanging down and pendant in shape. The otter tail is thick at the base, gradually tapering towards the tip. It is completely covered with short hair, with no feathering. The feet are strong and compact with webbed feet which aid the dog in swimming. Stay tuned…more about the Labrador Retriever tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Saturday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Hope the info is helpful at the adoption this weekend! Today is day 20 of campaign. I am having lots of fun with my campaign! Hope you are, too! Yesterday it was pretty wet when we did our morning laps, but we went anyway. Mom had more planting and weeding to do. I was sad when she told me I had to stay inside! She told me that I don’t listen and she needed to get her work done. She told me that if I stayed right by her when she worked, I could be out with them. But Mom…that is so BORING! It rained last night and was wet out when we did our morning laps, but we went anyway. It started raining when we tried to do our afternoon laps, but we waited until it stopped. It will rain off and on all day! Good for Moms new plants and flowers, but boring for us! MORE ABOUT GERMAN SHEHERD DOGS: HEALTH: Indiscriminate breeding has led to hereditary diseases such as hip and elbow dysplasia, blood disorders, digestive problems, bloat, epilepsy, chronic eczema, keratitis (inflammation of the cornea), dwarfism and flea allergies. Also prone to splenic tumors (tumors on the spleen), DM (degenerative myelitis), EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency), and perianal fistulas and Von Willebrand's disease. HEIGHT & WEIGHT: Height: Males 24 - 26 inches (60 - 65 cm) Females 22 - 24 inches (55 - 60 cm), Weight: 77 - 85 pounds (35 - 40 kg). LIFE EXPECTANCY: Around 13 years. LITTER SIZE: About 6 to 10 puppies. GROOMING: This breed sheds bits of hair constantly and is a seasonally heavy shedder. They should be brushed daily or you will have hair all over your home. Bathe only when necessary; over bathing can cause skin irritation from oil depletion. Check ears and trim claws regularly. LIVING CONDITIONS: The German Shepherd will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. They are relatively inactive indoors and do best with at least a large yard. EXERCISE: German Shepherd Dogs love strenuous activity, preferably combined with training of some kind, for these dogs are very intelligent and crave a good challenge. They need to be taken on a daily, brisk, long walk, jog or run alongside you when you bicycle. While out on the walk the dog must be made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, as in a dog's mind the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human. Most shepherds love to play ball or Frisbee. Ten to fifteen minutes of fetching along with daily pack walks will tire your dog out quite nicely as well as give him a sense of purpose. Whether it is ball chasing, Frisbee catching, obedience training, participation in a canine playgroup or just taking long walks/jogs, you must be willing to provide some form of daily, constructive exercise. The daily exercise must always include daily walks/jogs to satisfy the dog’s migration instinct. If under-exercised and/or mentally challenged, this breed can become restless and destructive. Does best with a job to do. OTHER NAMES: Alsatian, Deutscher Schaferhund, GSD, German Shepherd. GROUP: Herding, AKC Herding. RECOGNITION: ACA = American Canine Association Inc., ACR = American Canine Registry, AKC = American Kennel Club, ANKC = Australian National Kennel Club, APRI = American Pet Registry, Inc., CKC = Canadian Kennel Club, CKC = Continental Kennel Club, DRA = Dog Registry of America, Inc., FCI = Fédération Cynologique Internationale, GSDCA = German Shepherd Dog Club of America, KCGB = Kennel Club of Great Britain, NAPR = North American Purebred Registry, Inc., NKC = National Kennel Club, NZKC = New Zealand Kennel Club, UKC = United Kennel Club. I hope you have enjoyed reading the info about the German Shepherd Dog. Mom found this info at www.dogbreedinfo.com. That site has info on all dog breeds. Stay tuned…I will talk about the Labrador Retriever tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Friday! BBS. Alabama Gang/Please vote us (#43042) DOTM in June!!

Alabama Gang/Please vote us (#43042) DOTM in June!! Thank you & thank you for sharing about him on FB. Skipper was a challenge. He had never been petted. His owner fed him & that was about it. He'd growl every time we tried to pet him. But a few days before he passed he walked over to the chair I was in...I had my hand down & started to lift it up & my husband said "Don't move be real still." Skipper started rubbing by hand with his little head. I will never forget that! When he was dying I held him & cried. We loved Skipper! I believe Skipper passed from me to Poochie, who was waiting to escort him to Rainbow bridge. Diane I want you to know something...I love you...I always have, if I said anything hateful to you I'm so sorry. When Poochie passed I had so much anger in me. Thank you again! Love ya!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!!

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Mom says that you and your Mom just don't know me! BOL! Want to spend a week with me? Mom will send me there! BOL! Today is day 16 of campaign. The month is about half over. Time flies when you are having fun! Yesterday it was about 70ºF and sunny when we did our morning laps. It felt nice out! We got to go to the park! YAY! That was so much fun! I chased squirrels and sometimes Sheba helped me. But she likes fetching a silly stick instead! BOL! We both were so pooped out when we got home that we just laid down on the floor and napped until dinner. Today it was only 68ºF and mostly cloudy when we did our morning laps. It was nice out. Mom has to do more planting today, so it looks like I will be inside supervising. BORING! MORE ABOUT MY FUR FAMILY: Today I will tell you about Smokey, Scooter’s brother and littermate. His original Papa called him Mo Mo, so Mom does, too. Sometimes Mom calls him Mo Bear because he looks like a little bear cub! BOL! He is about 7 years old. He weighed about 18 pounds when he was at the Vet in December. He is a Manx or a Manx/Mix. He is long-haired. Mom has to keep him groomed daily, too. His hair can be a mess and he looks like he is having a bad hair day, just like his brother! BOL! He is solid charcoal gray. He has short legs and really big paws! He has a stubby tail. He has big eyes. He is gentle, super sweet and very kind! He also seems to want to get to know and get along with all the kitties in the house. When Zoey is up here, he follows her and wants to get to know her. But she is afraid of him because he is so big compared to her! Banjo, Zoey’s brother, is afraid of him, too, because of his size. Mo Mo loves to play. Sometimes during the day he races around the house batting a toy mouse around. He loves the laser mouse. He chases the red “bug!” BOL! He likes to play with Benny, too. Sometimes they wrestle. Mo Mo is a talker. He always has a lot to say! He walks around the house “talking.” He will go up to Benny and say things to him. When he wants Benny to play, he will say something right in his face! BOL! Mom has heard Mo Mo actually say real words! He can say “OH?” He will repeat that several times. Mom never heard a cat say that before. But…Benny has said, “Mom!” Mo Mo also says “No….No…No!” Mom thinks that he says that when he doesn’t want one of the others to do something. He likes to lay on the cat scratcher that Mom got for them. It is shaped like an “S.” Mom says it looks like a lounge chair. He thinks it is quite comfy! He doesn’t like it if Benny or Scooter wants to lay on it. Even though there are 3 of them, they sometimes want the same one! Sometimes he climbs into a basket in Mom’s office when she is on her computer. Mo Mo loves to sit on top of Mom while she is talking to Bill or watching the news. He kneads her belly or ribs for a while. Then he lays down with his head on her chest, lets out a big sigh and then purrs until he falls asleep. He is such a cuddle bug! Most nights Mom falls asleep watching the news with Mo Mo on top of her. Bill said that kitties have a special dust that puts you to sleep! BOL! When Mom first adopted Mo Mo and Scooter, Mo Mo seemed to be the underdog. Or should I say…undercat? He seemed to be left out of everything. So, Mom felt sorry for him and started giving him more attention than the others. He really liked that and became really close to Mom. He really loves his Mom! Mom loves him, too! Mom is sooo happy that she adopted him! She is glad that she gave a safe and happy home to two boys that needed one desperately! Stay tuned…more tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Monday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

He is about 7 years old. He weighed about 14 pounds when he was at the Vet in December. He is a long, tall kitty! He is a Manx or a Manx/Mix. He is long-haired. Mom has to keep him groomed daily. His hair can be a mess and he looks like he is having a bad hair day! BOL! He is charcoal gray with a long white bandana under his neck. His toes are white and he has some white on his back legs, more on one than the other. He has very long legs and can get me if I walk to close! He has big eyes. His tail is super long! He is gentle, super sweet and very kind! He seems to want to get to know and get along with all the kitties in the house. When Zoey is up here, he follows her and wants to get to know her. But she is afraid of him because he is so big compared to her! He seems to be the dominant one of him and his brother, Smokey. He walks with air of confidence. He loves to play. Sometimes during the day he races around the house with Benny. They end up jumping over furniture and zooming thru the house! It is so funny! Sometimes he sits by Benny and lets him groom his head. He likes to go in the Half-Bath and open the bottom drawer where Mom keeps all the Band-Aids! BOL! He likes to sit at the door to the Laundry Room and cry to go in. He has the sweetest meow you ever heard! He follows Mom into the bathroom every time she has to go! BOL! He follows Mom around the house a lot! He sits next to her when she is on the computer and makes a little sound letting her know he is there and wants to be petted. He loves being petted. He loves to cuddle with Mom at night while she is watching TV. Mom says he is a cuddle bug. Every night after Mom grooms them and tells them “Good Night, I love you,” he puts his head on Mom’s head. He is probably telling Mom that he loves her, too! Mom is sooo happy that she adopted him! Stay tuned…Tell ya about Smokey (Mo Mo) tomorrow. Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! He didn't eat much yesterday but he eats a good bit so we just thought he wasn't hungry but today he hasn't eaten at all & he's very weak. He doesn't appear to be in pain. But his breathing is very shallow. We only had Skipper 4 months but he is loved! My prayer tonight is that he knows that!WE may not be on much the next day or two but will continue to vote DOTM & DOTD! Love you all! Mommy Becky

♥ Brandi ♥ THANK YOU for voting me May DOTM!! Hi, Bella! Today is day 14 of campaign. Yesterday, I was a good girl again! YAY! Mom is still pretty sore from her fall the other day so it was good that she didn’t have to deal with me being a brat. It was about 78ºF and sunny when we did our morning laps. There was a nice breeze, too. It felt nice out! Mom had to finish mowing so we had to stay inside supervising and napping again. BORING! Today it was 78ºF and sunny when we did our morning laps. It felt warmer than yesterday but still nice. Mom has to go into town today to get a couple of things and then she has to go out and do more work on her flower beds. More weeding and more planting. I might have to stay inside and watch from the door. MORE ABOUT MY FUR FAMILY: The next few days I will tell you about Scooter and Smokey, who are littermates that Mom adopted at the end of last year. They are either Manx or a Manx/mix. Their Papa was dying of cancer and had a short time to live. He was hoping to find a home for his two handsome boys before he died. He wanted them to be adopted together, as they had been together all their lives. One day Mom was at the Water Dept. office paying her bill and noticed photos of two kitties on the desk. So…she asked about them. The lady who works there told her that they needed homes quick! Well…Mom being the Mom she is, got the phone number of the neighbor, Tony, who had been taking care of them for the man who was dying. She went over to see them and that was it! She told Tony that she would take them both! He was so happy! Unfortunately, their Papa passed away just days before Mom adopted both boys. She wishes that he would have known that they got a good home together before he died, but she is sure he knows and is smiling! Scooter and Smokey (Mo Mo) were afraid of strangers and hid when Mom first went there to see them. Tony got Scooter to come out from under a couch with a wand that had a toy on it. Tony played with him for a while and then was able to get him and put him into a crate. He couldn’t find Mo Mo anywhere. They searched all over but couldn’t find him. Tony said he would catch him later and bring him over to our house. Funny thing, Mo Mo came out right after Mom left and Tony showed up at our house almost right behind Mom! He brought over all the toys, bowls, food and whatever belonged to the boys. He stayed awhile to see where they would be living and called every day for days to make sure they were alright. He even asked if he could come by and see them again. Mom told him that he sure could! The boys were a bit scared for a while after getting here. They mourned and missed their Papa for a while. Mom set them up in the Guest Room so they would have a place that they could go and feel safe. She put all their toys and stuff in there so they would know that was their room. Mom even put up a baby gate in the door to keep me out of there! It was supposed to be temporary and then they would go downstairs with the other kitties, but for some reason, they are still up here! BOL! They are so spoiled and love having a Mom soooo much!! They are very sweet and loving boys! Benny, one of my feline brothers, even spends most of his time up here now. He wants to eat with the boys! BOL! He sometimes sleeps in the Guest Room with them at night. The 3 boys get along so good and play so well. Mom is so happy that she saw those pictures and was the one who adopted them! The other kitties are not real happy about them yet. Banjo is so afraid of them because they are so much bigger than him. He cries like a baby when Mom brings him up here! Zoey has been up here and is a little afraid of them. Sammie isn’t too happy about them but when she is up here, she hisses at them and then walks away with authority, showing them SHE is in charge! Maybe one day they will all be happy together! I used to chase them and bother them. They don’t like that! But now I have learned to leave them alone and that they are really nice boys. Mom says that they “tolerate” me! BOL! Stay tuned…Tell ya about Scooter tomorrow.

Hi, Bella! Today is day 11 of campaign and I hope you are still enjoying reading my stories. Yesterday, I wasn’t a very good day off and on. First, I didn’t listen in the morning when we were doing our laps. In the afternoon when Mom went outside to work, she put my eCollar on and that helped me stay nearby. But then I was bored and wanted to go back inside. Last night Mom gave us a really good treat that was stuffed with chicken. It is MMMM GOOD! Mom was talking to Bill and I was laying on my mat near the coffee table, eating mine. MoMo (Smokey) walked by and I growled at him! Mom told me that was bad! She came over to me and I growled at her! That did not fly! She made me go to time-out and scolded me good! So I was in deep doo-doo for the rest of the night! Mom worries about my tendency towards aggression. It seems to real its ugly head at times. Today it was about 80ºF and partly sunny when we did our morning laps. It will be cloudy off and on today and there is a possibility of rain. I did good this morning outside on our walk. YAY! I seem to be acting much better today, which makes Mom happy. Today Mom has to go out and do more planting, but I know I would prefer to stay inside where it is cooler. MORE ABOUT ME: Let me tell you about another one of my kitty siblings. Today we will talk about Benny. Mom calls him Benny, Ben Ben and Benny Boop. Mom kind of named him after the comedian, Jack Benny. He can be so comical! He is a sweet, handsome 6 year old Domestic Long-hair. He will be 7 in July. Benny is the tuxedo color, black and white. He has the fluffiest tail! His hair is softer than cotton! He is super sweet and loving. He loves to watch TV. He loves cartoons and movies that are animated. He has his very own DVD collection! His favorite is “Nut Job.” He knows what it is the moment the DVD starts. He sometimes goes up on the Entertainment Center while it is starting up. He watches the squirrel walk on the line and the birds fly away. When the squirrel disappears off the TV screen, he looks behind the TV for it! Mom laughs! Mom adopted him from her former Vet. Benny was dumped on the Vet’s Dad’s property at the age of about 6 months old. He needed a home so Mom was more than happy to adopt him. She was looking for a companion for Sammie, who was 3 years old at the time, so it worked out great. When Benny came to live here, he had tons of fun playing with Sammie. They used to provide lots of entertainment for Mom and Goldie’s Dad. Goldie and Benny became best friends. Benny liked to be anywhere she was. He liked to knead her neck, as there was lots of hair there. Benny just loved Goldie to pieces! He was crushed and mourned for a long time when Goldie crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. He laid down next to her the night she died. He knew! Mom worried about him and thought he would never get over it. He even started turning gray! At first Benny didn’t care for Sheba when Mom adopted her. She was NOT Goldie. But now they get along pretty good, but he is not the same with her as he was with Goldie. Benny has been such a good kitty and Mom is so glad she adopted him and got to be his Mom! Stay tuned…More tomorrow! Please vote for me daily for May DOTM! Thank you for your support! Hope you have a fun Wednesday! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet and sassy Sheprador Kisses…

Lokje**Vote Alabama Gang #43042 June DOTM** Hi Bella, Hope you're good tonight! Walking around Chicago with me on our trips there is always fun. People inevitably think that I am a wolf and either give us a *very* wide berth, or approach us with a request to pet me. One family from Germany even requested that I pose for pictures with them. Everywhere we go people admire me, and we often catch people taking pictures of me. We’ve even caught professional photographers taking pictures of me when we go to events like the local hot air balloon festival. Mom and Dad don’t mind a bit, because they think I am gorgeous! Lokje**Vote Alabama Gang #43042 June DOTM** Hi Bella, Malamutes have long shown up in history and literature, and accompanied Admiral Byrd on his expeditions to the South Pole. They are cousins to other Arctic breeds such as the Siberian Husky, the Samoyed, and the American Eskimo dog. Although Huskies and Malamutes look almost identical, the Malamute is larger (I am very large for a female at over 100 lbs.), stronger and more suited to hauling heavy loads. One way to definitively tell them apart is their eye color. While Huskies may have blue or brown eyes, or one of each color, Malamutes eyes are brown. Any other color is a fault, indicating that the animal wasn’t bred true. Malamute Howls, Lokje and the Zoo Crew

Lokje**Vote Alabama Gang #43042 June DOTM** Hi Bella! Thanks for your continuing support! This has been a long day for my secretary, so please forgive a short blog tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll introduce my siblings, all 13 of them. More if you count the fish, but I don't. Fewer if you discount the cats, which I'd like to do but can't. BOL!! Lokje**Vote Alabama Gang #43042 June DOTM** Good afternoon, Bella! Happy Wednesday to all! It is cold and gloomy outside today. Not my kind of weather because I don't care for cold rain. I don't care for rain at all, come to think of it. I much prefer snow. We did get some of that earlier today. The weather person says that we will get more snow on Friday. I guess we should be used to it!~~~Thanks for stopping by every day with your votes. Mom says that I'm not really getting many votes every day and it is iffy that I will get my DOTM, but that's OK. If I don't, I don't. It is nice just to be able to visit with my friends every day! I hope you are all having a good day! Howls, Lokje and the Zoo Crew

♥ Sheba ♥ loves Harley ♥ RIP Harley 03-20-16 ♥ Please vote Alabama Gang #43042 for June DOTM! Hi, Pretty Bella! Today is day 24 of my DOTM campaign. Thank support you for your support! I appreciate it soooo much! Can you believe that this month is almost over?! Where did it go?! Yesterday \ it was 61ºF and mostly cloudy when we did our morning laps. It was pretty nice out. After our laps, we refilled all the bird feeders. Those birds eat way too much! In the afternoon Mom had to mow so we didn’t get to blog. Mom also talked to Harley’s Mom a lot and she has a big surprise! Guess what?! She adopted a new furbaby!! She is an adorable Lab/Golden mix. She picked her up this morning and took her with her to see Paige and how well she does with other dogs. She is supposed to be good with people and animals. Harley’s Mom said she is a pretty calm and laid back girl. She posted a couple of photos on FB. Mom just talked with Harley’s Mom and she said that the new girl is doing great! YAY! She also told us that she has so much to do today and tomorrow, so she won’t be on DC until at least Saturday. She hopes you all will understand. Today it was about 70ºF and mostly cloudy when we did our morning laps. It was pretty nice out. It has been raining this afternoon and will the rest of the day. Looks like no more walks! Darn! We may get some severe weather today, too. We hope it will go around us, as it does most of the time. Today Mom will make me a Banana cake as a belated Birthday cake. It will be MMMM GOOD! Have a fun Thursday! Please don't forget to vote daily for me, Sheba #254588 for March DOTM! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet Golden Kisses...

♥ Sheba ♥ loves Harley ♥ RIP Harley 03-20-16 ♥ Please vote Alabama Gang #43042 for June DOTM! Hi, Bella! Today is day 4 of my DOTM campaign. Thank you for your support! Yesterday, it was only 42ºF and cold. It rained and rained all day until after dinner. There was thunder, too. So…we didn’t get outside. Mom tried to put us out in between the thunder, but we won’t go out! YUCK! She put us out when the rained slowed down in the midafternoon. It was the time when the school buses go down the road and one stops in front to let the kids out at their grandparents house across the road. Bad timing, Mom! I started growling and barking at the bus and all the cars stopped behind it. Some were by our driveway, so what was I supposed to think?! Well…Brandi started joining me. Mom told us to get in the garage, but we wouldn’t! We stood out in the rain and waited until all the cars left. It started raining hard and we got soaked! Especially me! Mom wasn’t too happy with us. We haven’t been listening too well the last couple of days. So…after we got dried off a little, we had to both go in Time Out! That wasn’t fun! When Mom let us out, I was so happy to see her! It isn’t fun being stuck in a room with Brandi! But…last night we behaved better. Mom was glad! She needed the break and the peace and quiet! Bill had a talk with us when he called. He wasn’t happy to hear that we aren’t listening to Mom. So…today we are on our best behavior! YAY! Guess we need Bill to talk to us and remind us sometimes! Today it is a little warmer. It was 52ºF and mostly sunny when we did our morning laps. It was really wet out, but we tried to do our laps. We only went as far as the ground was decent and then came back up behind the house and repeated that path. Hopefully it will be a little drier this afternoon with the sun out a bit. Got to run. Have a fun Friday!

Hi, pretty girl, Bell! Today is day 3 of my DOTM campaign. I am still excited about it! Thank you for your support! Yesterday, it was only 56ºF and sunny when we did our morning laps. There was a cool wind out of the NW making it feel a bit colder. The ground wasn’t too wet and that was good! We got all 3 of our walks in! YAY! In the afternoon, Mom hung a new piece of metal artwork in her bedroom and rehung two other pictures that were hung too high. Now it all looks nice! I was in there with her supervising to make sure it all gets done right! BOL! In the late afternoon, Banjo was a very bad boy! He got mad that Mom was trying to get him to know and make friends with MoMo and Scooter. He is such a baby and cries and hisses when he comes up here! He is so afraid of those two boys! Well…he decided that Mom made him stay by MoMo too long! He screamed really loud, jumped up and scratched Mom right in the face! She now has two big scratches between her right eye and ear. She is lucky he didn’t get her eye! She wasn’t happy with him at all! Guess he is too much of a baby/fraidy cat to come upstairs. Brandi was bad, too. Last night when she put us out before going to bed, Brandi ran to the back of the house where it is very dark! Our light fixture needs to be replaced. Mom told her that it is too dangerous to run out there in the dark! So…Mom didn’t have a very nice night last night. Hopefully today will be better. It has been raining and cold. It is only about 42ºF and raining. There is thunder, too. So…we haven’t been outside. Mom tried to put us out in between the thunder, but we won’t go out! It looks like it will be raining and storming all day, into the night. YUCK! Oh well…we can’t control the weather. Mom will just have to work inside. Have a fun Thursday! Please don't forget to vote daily for me, Sheba #254588 for March DOTM! BBS. Left you a vote and lots of sweet Golden Kisses...
