How We Met?
Cinder came from a pheasant hunting ranch in SD, and was very timid. She didn't work out as a hunting dog, so one of the hunters offered to take her. En route back to Michigan from SD, he decided he couldn't keep her, and he mentioned her to us, as we had just lost our beloved 10yo dog 3 weeks earlier. We went over and met her, and took her home that evening! She weighed only 52 lbs - you could see her ribs and feel her spine when petting her. She also had worms - Yech! She was not friendly with other dogs at first either, and didn't even know what to do with toys or rawhides when presented to her. After getting her healthy and a good weight (~62), we hired a trainer who came to our house for personalized sessions. We soon found out that Cinder is a very quick learner and loves to please. As she learned more and was praised and loved, she became much more confident also. She has changed so much since she came to live with us, we are so very proud of her. She's a very special member of our family.
