How We Met?
We used to have a female Jack Russel Terrier, Essie, but we recently lost her. She got very sick, and there was nothing we could do to help her, she was too far gone. She died at only 7 years old, about half of her breeds life expectancy. After Essie died, my family wanted another dog, but we wanted a large breed male dog, that would become part of our large family (I have 5 siblings), and keep us and our property safe.
About 2 months after Essie's passing, we began looking for another dog. We were considering an American Bulldog, but didn't like there tendency to want to pick fights. A friend of ours had a big dog that she called a Catahoula. Curious, we started researching, and decided to get one of them. We started looking, and found some 3mth puppies for sale. We went to the breeders house, chose the puppy we wanted and took him home. My family knew ahead of time when we got a dog, we were going to name him 'Zeke', no matter his breed. And so, we've had him ever since, and don't ever plan to part with him.
