Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Day 10....This last day brings us to Quinn. Quinn Luca is my baby boy. He's just a little bit smaller than the others weighing a bit over 7 pds.-----Quinn is the barker. He loves to bark outside at the squirrels, goats, pony, cows, the neighbors cats, even the leaves when the wind blows.------ Quinn is the only pup that doesn't get carsick....lucky boy!!------Quinn loves to play with his yellow Kong squeaky tennis ball. Mom throws it for him and he brings it right back and drops it at her feet. If it rolls away before mom gets it, she says "Get the ball, Quinn" and he quickly brings it to her. He's so much fun to play with and mom loves to watch him play. She laughs when he jumps and tries to catch the ball. Many times, Lola and Littles steal Quinn's ball. He follows and barks at them. Usually they drop it and he gets it back.-------Quinn is one smart pup. When Mom lets the others out, he stays back. Once he hears the door close, he comes out. Mom laughs and lets him have his Mom/Quinn time. It makes him so happy!!-------Quinn loves to jump up and lay on the bed. He's stays very still so Mom won't see him and tell him to get down.-----------Quinn loves apples, carrots and celery.-------If you're not careful, Quinn will find the one piece of paper or tissue you drop. He'll shred it to bits.---------Quinn and Littles sleep together and Quinn is definitely the bed hog. He sleeps right in the middle. Quinn is solid black but looks the most like me. Mom says he has my eyes.-------Quinn (like me and the other pups) hates thunder.------Quinn is a loving boy with a wonderful attitude. He never growls or snaps and he loves to be held.---------We just love our little Quinn Quinn!!---------------------------I hope you enjoyed learning about our family. We loved sharing with you all. Our Mom is very proud of our happy little family. No matter what stunts the pups pull or how much damage they may have caused ( they chewed up the cordless phone charger, Mom's cell phone charger, the wifi charger, the replacement chargers, three pair of Nike flip-flops, two pairs of the kids shoes and a couple of toys) Mom wouldn't change one thing. ----I think we have Mom wrapped around our paws!! She loves us with every beat of her heart!! -----------We love you all!! Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie, Cooper, Littles, Lola, Cassie, Quinn, and Mom

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Day 9 brings us to Cassie.....sweet, sweet Cassie!! -----As you all know, the pups were born solid black. Cassie is the only pup to have changed color. She's a beautiful gray.------ Cassie was the pup who would roll out of bed and get stuck in the middle of the night. She would whine and wake Mom up. There were lots of nights like that!!------ She loved to sleep on her back and cuddle with Lola and Quinn. --------Cassie is a Mama's girl!! She's the one who gets to sleep on the bed with Mom.-------- Cassie loves to play!! She'll play with anything but she LOVES her old red ball. Yep, she won't play with the new balls, it's got to be her old one. As soon as Cassie wakes up, she takes her nose and pushes the lid off the toy box. She pulls out almost all the toys. Silly girl!!-------- Cassie is super fast....she's faster than all the other dogs but she makes such wide turns. -------Cassie is Remington's favorite pup. He sits on the floor and hugs and pets her. She's a good girl and sits with him. She only runs away if he gets a little rough. (Don't worry....Mom watches him like a hawk. There's no way he has a chance to hurt these babies).------Cassie loves apples. She'll eat carrots but they're not her favorite. Cassie gets carsick so she only rides to the vet's office. When she went for her checkup and shots in January, she was very nervous. She climbed up onto Mom's shoulders and sat. The vet came in and said "Well Cassie, I don't think you can climb up any further". and just laughed at the pup.------Cassie's such a great dog but she did scare Mom once. Last year, after her surgery, Cassie took off running around the yard with Lola chasing her. She ran straight into the highway before Mom could stop them. A truck was so close to hitting them but he had his window down and heard Mom screaming. He stopped and the girls came running back to Mom. Boy was Mom glad her pups were o.k.------Cassie is another heart-breaker, just like Littles. She has those big, beautiful eyes that keep you from being upset with her. It's like the eyes are saying "I'm so sorry". Yeah, she's definitely a Mama's girl!! --------Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!!

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Day 8... Today I'm gonna tell you all about my little lady Lola.----Mom and the vet both said there was just something special about Lola. Mom just didn't know what it was until Lola got a little older. Lola is a good girl but she was the only pup to give Mom lots of trouble. You see, sometimes when Mom let the pups out to potty, Lola wouldn't want to come back in. That would have been fine but Miss Lola would run where she shouldn't. One night, Mom let us all out at 11 p.m.-----that night Lola decided to pull her stunt and Mom couldn't catch her. Finally Mom was able to coax her with bread and grab her. Yeah, it took an hour to get her. Mom wasn't too happy about that. Other-times it would take 5, 15 , 20, or 30 mins. Mom was trying to be patient but her patience was quickly wearing out. She found out that Lola didn't like it if your voice went too high, so she would call her softly. She would come in quicker if she got really tired from playing. She was doing better but Mom said she still got a wild hair every once in a while. The final straw was one morning when Lola decided to pull her stunt again. She ran all over the front yard and into the highway. Luckily, no cars were coming. Mom said "O.k. young lady, that's it". Now, when we go out to potty, Lola's put on the tie-out cable. At first, she didn't like it but now she waits for Mom to put it on her. Mom hates that it has to be this way but she would rather do that than lose Lola. By the way----Now Lola goes out to potty on her own during the day, and she's free to play ball. She comes when Mom says "lets go in". She's really learning how to behave.--------Inside, Lola loves to jump on the bed, even though she knows she's not really supposed to.-------- She chose the crate as her own personal space.---------Lola loves Kong squeaky tennis balls!! She would carry one in her mouth all day long if Mom would let her. She also loves squeaky soft toys and nylabones.-------- Lola loves food!! She especially loves apples and carrots. --------She's mom's black-haired beauty. When her hair grows out, it's fluffy and curls like Cooper's.-------- Mom calls her Lola Bear but also calls her Miss. Pee-Pot because she sometimes tinkles where she shouldn't. ------- No matter how many stunts Lola has pulled, Mom loves her and couldn't imagine her not being a part of our family.----------------Hope you have a great weekend. Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Day 7.....My little puppies were just the cutest, but what was Mom going to do with them. Would she find them good homes?? How would I react??----No worries, Mom just couldn't give away my sweet babies. She said it would be like gives away her heart. She promised me she would take excellent care of all six of us!! We're one big happy family!!--------So today I will tell you about my first-born pup.----The first pup born was a boy whom Mom's brother said should be called Lil' Coop. His offical name is Cooper Britt Jr. However, it was confusing for Cooper because Mom calls him Coop half the time ,so Li' Coop became Littles.------Littles is a complete cuddle-bug. Whenever he see's Mom sitting, up he jumps into her lap. ------He has these warm, sweet eyes that can melt your heart.------- Right now, he's a fuzzy, wuzzy boy. Mom wants to keep his hair longer in case its a cold winter. Plus, his hair is so soft and shiny. ------Littles likes to chase the ball but he refuses to bring it back to Mom. He also like to steal Quinn's ball. When inside, Littles loves to play with squeaky soft toys and he also loves to chew nylabones.------Just like me, Littles loves celery, carrots and apples. He's the piggy of the pups and tries to gobble every bite.----Oh, Littles gets carsick so he can't go on any joy-rides. That's why Mom grooms him at home. ------Littles was supposed to go live with Mom's brother but after the pups were born, Mom's brother never mentioned it. I think he knew Mom just couldn't separate our family. Plus, they're gone all day and Littles would have been left alone way too long. The kids are here every Monday - Friday so they get to play with him all day. Yeah, it's much better this way!! -------More tomorrow-----Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi....Day 6------ Well, I was happy to have another dog around. Cooper was sweet and playful. He was growing like a weed!! Mom had all his vet visits and shots taken care of. Mom asked at what age he could be neutered and the vet said six months. Well, if you've read all my family blogs, you know Mom has lost a lot. She was so nervous about any kind of surgery and she was dragging her heels. Well, she dragged them a little too long because this little lady was expecting litter of puppies. Mom couldn't believe a 7 month old pup was fertile....guess she learned something new!!-----Mom stayed worried all the time. She's a huge reader and she did a lot of research on Yorkie births. A big percentage end up having emergency c-sections. Oh no....what if I had to have one?? Would I be o.k.?? Would it happen when my vet was closed?? Would I know what to do with puppies?? Would I be a good Mom?? Mom had so many questions in her mind. She did a lot of praying!! She didn't want anything to happen to me or my pups.----Mom noticed how I was shadowing her. I wanted to be held by her all the time. This was new because I like my space. Mom loved this little change. One day, as Mom was holding me, she placed her hand on my fat tummy. She was shocked to feel a puppy moving inside me. Instantly, Mom forgot all those nagging questions and just felt happiness!! She spent a lot of time feeling those pups wiggle. -----As the countdown began to my delivery date, Mom started checking my temp. On a Friday night, she checked it again. It was up and Mom knew the time was getting close. The next morning, Mom gave us potty time and brought us back in. She had three errands to make. Mom came back home about two hours later and immediately came to check on me. ---------SURPRISE!!!!!! There was a teeny-tiny little black pup in the middle of the bedroom floor, with Mommy Grace right beside it!!! Mom was shocked but greatly relieved that I didn't have any delivery problems. Let's just say Mom was estatic----she's was laughing and crying and just soooo happy. Well, I was still feeling pain and walked to my bed. Mom said "Hey little mama, this pup can't follow you", and she brought my little pup to me and I nursed the sweet little boy.---- More pains and a second little pup was her. Mom noticed that when she talked softly to me and petted me, I seemed to relax. She never left my side.---More pain and pushing and a third pup popped out. I had trouble breaking the amniotic sac so Mom gently rubbed it off the little one's face. This was a special moment for Mom!!------Mom wondered if that was all but I started grunting again.....each pup was a little bigger than the last and this pup was the biggest. It was the only one I yelped with. Finally, out he came. More trouble with the sac, so Mom stepped in again.------Wow, four beautiful solid black pups.------Now, it was time for me to show my true colors. Mom had nothing to worry about. I was going to be the best Mommy. I stayed with my pups constantly, nursing and cleaning. Cooper tried to help clean them too!! I never growled or snapped when anyone touched those little cuties. Everyone was so surprised at how good a mother I was. I don't know why though, I tried to be a good mom and nurse Cooper, lol!! ------More tomorrow about these beautiful little ones!!-------Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...I'm back!! Yesterday I told you all about me and that something happened 7 weeks after Wilson died. What was it?? Was it good or bad?? To answer that question, I simply have one word---Cooper!! Yes, Cooper came to live with us on a Thursday afternoon. Now, I feel that I must be honest with all my friends and say that I was not happy at all to see this tiny brown fluff-ball. I went and hid in the bedroom. Mom took Cooper to the vet the next day for a wellness check and told the vet how I was acting. The vet said to just give it a little time and I would be fine. Well, it didn't take that long because the next day, when Mom was making breakfast, we were too quiet. She walked into the living room and found me lying in my doggie bed trying to nurse baby Cooper. Mom laughed and grabbed her camera. Yes, she took pictures of that private moment.-------Mom loves any and all dogs, but she has a particular fondness for poodles. After having Chance and Wilson (both poodles) , she just has to have a poodle in the house. Cooper was 7 weeks old when he came. He's filled our home with lots of silliness and love. He's Mom's special buddy and he loves to cuddle. He always wants to be the center of attention. Cooper loves toys but really loves squeaky balls and is super fast. Before he was a year old, Cooper learned to fetch. Mom loves any little accomplishment!! He would drop the ball close to Mom. Mom would keep telling him to bring it to her. One day she said it and Cooper looked at her, then at the ball. He took his nose and rolled it to mom's feet!! Eventually, mom would say "no, give it to me" and Cooper would pick it up and put in her hand. Yay!! Good boy, Cooper!! ---------------Things about Cooper-------- Cooper is a chocolate poodle ( around 8 pds) but his color is fading.-----Cooper is Mom's chocolate snuggle bunny.----He's a whiny baby when he has to go to the groomers or the vet----- he loves kids------he's learned to sit, lay down, play dead, shake hands and give high 5's------just tonight he's learned to jump into your arms while standing (thanks to mom's brother)-------Cooper's a little jealous of the pups-----when mom's sick, he doesn't leave her side. -----He follows Mom everywhere, even in the bathroom when she takes a shower.-------And according to Mom, he's the best chocolate poodle in the world ( Chance was the best cream colored and Wilson the best black).------We love Cooper and are so glad to have him in our family....------- Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...Day four brings no sadness but happiness to our home. Wilson had been with Mom for 8 months when Mom's brother told her about a little Yorkie that needed a new home. The owner didn't have time for her. The little dog was crated all day while the owner was working. Not much of a life for a dog. Mom told her brother to contact his friend and tell her she would give the dog a good home. Mom had to wait a week while the owner was out of town. One afternoon, Mom's brother came driving up earlier than usual. He had gotten off work early, drove to Newnan and picked up-------can you guess who????------ME!!!!!!! Gracie Nichole!!!!!!!! Mom came out the door and I just ran right up to her like I had known her all my life!! My old owner (Cristina) had sent all my belonging with me.....my crate, blankets, lots of clothes, tons of food and treats, toys, even my hair clippers. That was so nice of her.----Mom had never had a girl dog before and she was so excited. ( Mom likes to dress us girls up and put bows in our hair )------ Mom soon found out why I was given away. I was 14 months old and not house-broken. I could also be a little stand-offish. Sometimes I hid and I was terrified of loud noises. Mom said I wasn't socialized as a puppy and it wasn't my fault. It was a little tough those first few months but Mom worked with me. I still have an occasional accident but Mom doesn't get angry.----I fell in love with my new family, especially my new big brother Wilson. I learned to play with toys by watching him. He was a great brother!! I had lived with my new family 15 months when Wilson died. I really missed my buddy and I was definitely depressed. It took 6 weeks for me to socialize with my family again. Mom was so happy when I became myself again. She knew I was grieving, just like she was. She let me take all the time I needed. Just a week later, something happened----I'll tell you about that tomorrow!!---------------------Things about me-------Mom says I'm her little G-Bug, Gracie-Nic, and lately she's been calling me Nic-Nack-Patty-Wack......Sillly Mom.---- As I said, mom loves to dress me up. She loves to take pictures of me, but often, I don't cooperate with her.------- I love to search for bugs whenever I'm outside. I don't really like to cuddle but I love when Mom pets me. I give her lots of sweet kisses.-------- Don't ever step on my paws because I will snap you. I don't want to hurt anyone, I just get scared and automatically snap. I've snapped Mom a couple of times and boy did she yelp!! Sorry mom but you better stay away from these paws!!-------- I'm a good girl when riding but I know that means a trip to the groomers or the vet.....not my favorite places.--------I love carrots, celery, lettuce, cabbage, cheese and my favorite APPLES!!!------I like to play with stuffed squeaky toys and chew on nylabones.-------I'm just a happy girl who loves her forever home!!-----------Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!!

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...Gracie here... Today is about Angel Wilson.-----As you know, Mom had to put Chance to sleep August 6, 2009. A friend found out what had happened and told Mom about a poodle who needed a home. Even though she was grieving and felt like she was betraying Chance, Mom felt that she had to help this dog. Nine days after Chance died, Mom, Grandma, Mom's sister-in-law , and Morgan rode to Alabama to pick up Wilson. Wilson was black and fuzzy. He was a little skittish around Mom at first. It was a long ride back home but he loved riding. He would jump for Morgan to Grandma looking out the windows. When Mom let him inside the house, he made himself at home. Mom's heart was still broken and she just didn't have that strong connection with Wilson. Mom noticed that Wilson had a bad case of fleas. He was covered in them, so Mom bought flea medication and applied it. She had to watch the nursery that night and when she got home, Wilson was sick. He had vomited the whole time she was gone. The next day, he wouldn't move much and you could tell he was sick. Mom took him to the vet. The vet asked if he was up to date on his shots. Mom told her that the owner said he was. The vet felt otherwise. Mom called and the lady said "no, he hasn't had any." The vet said she thought he had a bad case of worms even though the test came back negative. She treated him for worms and he recovered. Almost losing Wilson sparked a bond between them that couldn't be broken. Wilson was the most compassionate dog ever. He he heard you crying, he jumped on you and licked. He tried his best to console you. Mom let Wilson ride with her all the time. More slobbery windows but it didn't matter. Wilson was here 22 months when Mom was petting him and felt the lump on his throat. Fear gripped her and she just knew it was cancer. She took Wilson to the vet. After examining him, the vet put Wilson on antibiotics for two weeks. She was hoping it was an infection and that it could be cleared up. She said he had the worst tonsils she had ever seen. ---two weeks later, no change. The vet aspirated the lump and it was Lymphoma. He started predisone immediately. The vet said he had about a month. Mom was determined to make Wilson's last days the best ever. That went for walks all throughout the day (he loved walking in the pasture and watching the cows). He was cuddled and loved and given all the table scraps he wanted.Mom let him have almost all of the bed. Nothing but the best for her baby!! She stayed up almost all night, every night checking on him. How could she sleep when something might happen. He was fine for three weeks, then he took a turn for the worst. Each day, he was a little weaker and that Saturday, the diarrhea and vomiting started. He could barely walk. On Monday morning, Mom made the decision that it was time. She laid in bed with Wilson and cuddled him. Soon, they were both asleep. Later, Mom was getting ready to leave for the vet. Barely able to walk, Wilson followed Mom around. He just wanted to be with Mom. It truely broke Mom's heart. Mom told Wilson how much she loved him all the way to the vet. The vet gave them some time to say goodbye and then adminstered the drug. Mom hugged him and told him she loved him one last time as he took his last breath. She brought him home and buried him. Mom was heart-broken again but this time she had a little someone to help heal that heart.-------find out more tomorrow-------Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...Gracie here. Day two and we have Mom's Angel Chance. Mom's brother bought Chance for Mom after Chandler died. It was about a six week wait. On a Sunday afternoon they drove to Alabama to pick up the beautiful cream colored fluffball. He was such a sweet boy on the drive home. He only had one accident in the house and that was the day I brought him home. He was completely house-broken at 8 weeks. He was such a sweet, happy boy. When he was two, he fell while jumping from the sofa to Mom's brother, He hit his head on the hardwood floor and immediately went into a seizure. After that, Chance's personality changed. He would growl and sometimes snap. The vet said a part of his brain didn't recover from the injury. It was difficult change but Mom refused to love him any less. It wasn't his fault this happened. He had seizures every so often and he could feel when he was about to have one. He would immediately find Mom and somehow they just both knew. She would hold him and talk softly to him until it passed. When Chance was six years old, he started having multiple seizures everyday. Not wanting to put him on medication, Mom researched and decided to try organic natural dog food. After a month Mom noticed the number of seizures Chance was having had been reduced. She kept up with the new food. Within three months, he wasn't having any seizures at all. Mom was so excited to tell the vet. She was to take Chance for his checkup and shots the next day. She went to church that Wednesday night. It was about 10:30 that night and Mom's mom (my Grandma) let Chance out to potty. We live in the country and have a big front yard. Chance went to tinkle on Mom's tire when a huge black dog and small white dog jumped out and attacked him. Grandma heard the crunch and ran and got Mom. Mom ran and picked up her sweet boy. He was trembling with fear. He was bleeding and his leg was snapped. Mom's brother came and they rushed Chance to an emergency clinic. It took 45 minutes to get there and while on the way, Chance said nothing. He was in shock. At one point, Mom said to Chance---"I'd give anything to hear you growl right now." Chance immediately let out a soft growl. Mom was shocked and so was her brother. At 3:30 that morning, Mom said goodbye to Chance and brought him home to bury. There was nothing the vet could do.-------Another bad thing about this whole situation was that Mom and her family know who's dogs did this. It was Mom's Uncle's dogs. They live next door to us and Grandma and Grandpa saw the dogs. They saw them run home. What did Mom's Uncle and Aunt say???? They said "Oh no...it couldn't have been Bobo, he wouldn't do that" They never even said they were sorry that Chance had died. -------Sorry to write all this sad stuff but the happier stuff is coming. I promise.-----Hope you had a great day. Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...Gracie here. Mom and I realize that all our DC friends don't really know a lot about our family. So, to let you all know us a little better, Mom's going to share about each of us over the next few days. Today she's going to share about Chandler. Chandler was Mom's very first dog. Chandler had been tied to a vet's door in Roswell, Ga. A friend had taken him in but couldn't keep him any longer. On a Sunday night, that friend met Mom at church and gave Chandler to Mom. He was a beautiful white and black fluffy boy. He was afraid of men but soon overcame that with lots of love from Mom's dad and brother. He was said to be half shih tzu and poodle. He was soooo smart. Mom taught him to sit,lay down, roll over, shake hands and when she said "POW" he would play dead. I know, any dog can do all that. However, those were not his best tricks. His absolute best trick was that he could drive around the yard. Mom's nephew had a little yellow caterpiller battery operated ride on. Mom would place him on it and position his paws on the buttons and away he would go. He LOVED to ride it. People driving down the highway would stare at him in amazement. He would ride until the battery died. He also loved to ride in the car and always made a mess of the windows. He was a total sweet heart. After seven years, Mom noticed his breath was really bad. Thinking he might need a dental procedure, he was taken to the vet. The vet kept him overnight and ran tests. It was discovered that he had kidney failure and wouldn't last long. Mom took him home and loved him every moment she had left with him.. Chandler lasted two weeks and died in mom's arms. He took his last breath looking at her as tears ran out of his eyes. Such a heartbreaking moment for mom but her heart had been opened up to doggie love and there was no turning back. --------------Have a wonderful weekend. Leaving a vote and lots of little yorkie love, Gracie

Our cat, Dame Daisy, was raised with Angel Shadow Wolf and Angel Pongo, and then when she was 10, Gaby was adopted, so she actually seems to think she is a dog or at least our supervisor! She also has a leash for walks! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend, and we're pawing you a vote! Love, The Stephens City Girls - Gaby, Hope, Arial & Angel

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!!

Gracie Nichole---Vote for T.J....September DOTM!! Hi...Gracie here. Today was a pretty good day around here. Except for the painful stye on Mom's eye. Yuck...it really hurts. She hasn't had a stye since she was 9 years old and now boom...2 this month. What's that all about?? Quinn played his hiding game again this morning....that sneaky little squirt!! Tonight Mom decided to walk around the yard. Since I don't really exercise, she said I'm going to be her exercise buddy!! Yay for Gracie/ Mom time!! I'm also the only dog that will walk on a leash. I get really excited when Mom gets the leash. I was walking strong but after the third lap, I got a little slower. Mom just laughed and said that we are both out of shape. Not for long Mom, not for long!! Hope you had a great Thursday. Leaving a vote and lots of love, Gracie

Littles & Quinn

Littles & Quinn Hi...Quinn here tonight. Today Samantha took her reading scantron test. She did really well. Mom k-mailed the teacher that Samantha had finished and the teacher asked if she did the math portion. Mom said yes, she finished it yesterday. Well, the test was not showing that she finished. So mom had to log back in and have Samantha finish. What a pain, since it was finished yesterday. Oh well, it's all done now and thats great because that math was a killer. How does a 7 year old know about multiplication and division when they haven't been taught it yet.... crazy!! --------wanna know something about me........when mom lets all the others out in the mornings, I hide so I don't have to go out. Mom laughs and calls it our mom/Quinn time. I love my special time with her !! Hope you had a great day....Leaving a vote and lots of love, Quinn
