How We Met?
Our old Beagle/Chow mix, Maggie, had died the fall before, and we really wanted a puppy. We looked in Uncle Henry's, and saw that someone was selling 4 border collie puppies, and we already wanted a border collie, so we decided to call. The woman had 2 females and 2 males, and Ruby was the only one who wasn't already being looked at. So, we went to the womans house. Ruby was the little dopey one (she still is really goofy ♥) and the two males were already taken, and the other female was being looked at, and the woman said that the other female was a bit of a brat. The woman told us that Ruby loved water, and that she would always play with the water in the bowl. We decided on Ruby, and she had a little bit of red on her, so we thought that she would be a tri-color, but now she just has red highlights in the summer. We brought Ruby home, and what do you know, she pawed at the water in the bowl, making a mess. But it was so cute we let her do it. Ruby has been a wonderful dog, so beautiful and smart. LOL, for a while, the only command Ruby knew was "sit". So when we let her loose, and she started to run around out of control, and we couldn't catch her, we'd yell, "Ruby, SIT!" and she would sit on her bum and let us get her.I love Ruby, and she sure does live up to the border collie breed - except that the first year we got her, she liked to dig (and the books we checked out from the library said that border collies never dig) and she barks a lot, or huffs her breath (a lot of books say that border collies never bark). So that's the end of Ruby's story :)

Who's barking?
