Well I did it again......
I was whining at the door. I kept coming over and laying my head on the arm of Mommy's chair, then Daddy's. Daddy told Mommy to take us out and see if we would do something for her cause all we want to do is sniff around or run around when he takes us out (that's HIS story) I said WE because if I go out, Maya wants to go out. If Maya goes out, I want to go out. It's like we are Siamese Twins at potty time. hehehe but ONLY till we get out that door though then we GO WILD, RUN LIKE THE WIND, EXPLORE LIKE LEWIS AND CLARK, TRACK ALL THE CRITTERS THAT HAVE WANDERED THRU, okay I do all that Maya just tracks critters and pretty much comes when she's called....what a boring little booger!
Well, Mommy took the 2 of us out. I immediately went to the right, Maya went to the left and we each disappeared on opposite sides of the house! Yikes! Mommy called me, didn't see any sign of me. She headed my direction and called for Maya. What a little brown noser...she came wiggle buttin around the house to Mommy's side and wagged her tail. "I'm so good". Well I couldn't let that make me look even worse so I poked my head around the corner and my body language spoke volumes. "Here I am Mommy" "I didn't realize you were calling me" "wiggle wiggle" I mean, I love Maya and all but she can really suck up to Mommy and Daddy when she wants to and they fall for it."Mommy's little angel" "Daddy's little squirtso" Yuck!
What happened next was I went pee...aren't I good? So then Maya goes pee (copycat)....Yay! mission accomplished! Mommy says " lets go back inside" but I didn't want to. I took off down the side yard to the field behind the house! Naturally, Maya went to the front door with Mommy and she went in the house while Mommy came back after me. Well I knew by that time I had already blown it and was in trouble so I might as well have a little fun before I give it up! I bounded around in the weeds and Mommy caught a glimpse of my head here and there as I hopped through the brush! What a BLAST! Then Daddy came around the corner of the house...uh oh, a couple more hops, a run past Mommy twice, up past Daddy's grapevines and stopped by the pet cemetery to catch my breath and assess the situation. Daddy didn't look too happy as he came down the little hill to help Mommy walk back to the house so I kind of took my time so I didn't look TOO SUBMISSIVE yet I was coming back to the house like they wanted.
It took quite a few "big sad I love you eyes" and little bitty" I love you, please pet my cute little head, whines" before they forget what I did and I became a "golden boy" again. Can I work it or what? Maya may do the little well behaved puppydog routine, and do it well, but I know how to do what I want, have a ball, run them ragged and then get them back wrapped around my paw like a MASTER! I ask you, who's got the better plan?

Hi Ozzie
I sOur Easter was pretty nice. We went to Grandma and Aunt Mindi's. This time, I didn't run through the apartment like the last time. Of course there was no little girl to play with and my cousin Jeremy (her Daddy) wasn't there for me to play with either!
Maya was her usual quiet well behaved little self EXCEPT a couple of times, when their cat Tuffy started to come over by Mommy Maya did her ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff I'm gonna attack you act and he stopped. I NEVER growled or even looked cross at the Cat and by golly, he wopped me with those declawed front paws!....more than once!! I was just sittin there not even aware he was there and kapow! he bopped me. What is THAT?! I guess they just passed it down the line, Maya yells at Tuffy, Tuffy clobbers Chewie, Chewie goes after....wait a minute, there isn't anybody left for Chewie to go after! So not fair! Nice guys do finish last ya know. In my case I don't even get to finish cause I never even got started! I don't have a mean bone in my body and the worst I do is just pester Maya and not give up when we are playing. Then what happens? I get to be at the bottom of the "foodchain" here! Maya didn't touch Tuffy just made noise, I didn't do anything and I was assaulted by a cat that thinks hes Muhammed Ali or something.

If you were wondering what I am doing right now, I have my PuppyDog lip stuck out and am practicing looking very sad and abused with big ol puppyDog eyes filled with tears. I'll let you know how that works. Sympathy anyone?

Sometimes Chewie gets to go out without a leash and run free, too! The reason he has to be on a leash sometimes is because he starts sniffing with that nose of his and he starts tracking and doesn't listen. At nighttime, before we go to bed, I have to be on a leash, too, to make sure I don't take off into the woods barking back at other dogs or whatever. During the day, I usually don't have to wear my leash cause I come and very rarely get too far from daddy and ESPECIALLY Mommy! And you are not nosy!! You would think after 2 rounds of dog classes, Chewie would mind better. They say he is in that rebellious stage and when he turns 2 he will get smart again. hehehe
We went to my Grandmas for Easter. I had a pretty new Easter Dress. I never had a dress before. I LOVED getting all dolled up with the dress and a flower on my collar! I pranced around and even did my wiggle dance! I thought I looked so pretty! Chewie even wore a bowtie!

Happy Easter Ozzie
OMD! I had a harrowing experience today! Daddy did some outside work and Mommy wasn't feeling real good. so she was dozing off and on in her recliner, after giving Maya another haircut. (She decided she didn't get it short enough the last time)Well, needless to say they weren't paying a lot of attention to where I was or what I was doing!Later in the afternoon to early evening Maya and the kitties acted like they heard something. Mommy listened and said she heard me crying and it sounded pitiful like I was hurt or in trouble. It wasn't very loud. Mommy said something to Daddy and he listened. Then they started looking for me and calling my name! They looked in the closets in the bedroom (a common place for the puppy dogs before us to get locked in) and...no Chewie! Next up was the old office room that they keep closed if they aren't in there and the spare bedroom...no Chewie! Mommy opened the front door cause Daddy asked if maybe I was outside...no Chewie! Daddy went downstairs and opened the door to the back area where Dady's workshop is and called me...no Chewie! he started back up and they could still hear me. I WAS in the basement!! Daddy came back and opened the door and I ran out past him like a bat out of you-know-where and straight up the stairs to Mommy! I paid no attention to Daddy until he came UP the stairs where I was safe from getting accidentally re-imprisoned!! Then he got the enthusiastic Thank You Very Much attention from me! It was really a traumatic experience! There I was all alone in the dark basement. It was so dark in there I couldn't see my little black paw in front of my muzzle!
I was hearing all kinds of sounds and noises overhead, probably everybody going about their lives upstairs like nothing was wrong while I languished alone in the dark wondering where my next meal was coming from, or would I starve to death....maybe I would die of thirst. I definately couldn't turn on the water faucets. My paws aren't built for that! besides, one of them is too darn high for a short guy like me. Yup! I was in dire straits down there and they weren't even aware I was missing! I wish there was a way to send out one of those alerts to the news people. Maybe if it scrolled across the bottom of the screen on that black box they watch they would realize I was gone. I didn't want to ruin my reputation as a real tough guy (I had to do enough damage control over those darn bunny ears!)so howling and wailing like a girl was out. I had no choice but to use a pitiful but not wimpy whine, NOT A CRY, a WHINE, there IS A DIFFERENCE, and hope that would be enough! Thank goodness it was. I'm glad there wasn't any vermin or larger creatures down there to get me or worse yet to have Maya the little girl terrier save me from. We all know what a great hunter she is! How embarrassing would it be to be saved from the big bad boogie man by your sister!!

Maya did a bad thing today, but it really wasn't her fault. She is a honest to goodness "killer" as in "murderer". Mommy took us both out to run and I naturally went one way and she went the other.She found a baby rabbit down by the woodshed and went after it! It didn't make it. Mommy said she was acting on instinct that terriers are bred to do that. As far as Maya was concerned it was vermin and she went after it! Poor little bunny rabbit!
Mommy and Daddy's 2 nephews and one niece came to get their chocolate Easter Cross on a card with a Bible verse and it was great! They always pay attention to me and Maya! I tell ya, I was running around like that chicken with its head chopped off again! I was Tickled Pink, although I was still BLACK....go figure!
Besides being all happy, it was also practical and Mommy should appreciate the fact I get all excited like I do! I heard Chewie focus, off, no, leave it, stop it, down, stay, uh-uh, focus (again...I hear that and off a lot) all the stuff I learned in BOTH of my classes so I was getting a good session in with a lot of review! I was, I might add the center of attention!
It's a rough job but somebody's got to do it, BOL! Even the 4 year old tells me to focus! Can you believe it? Well I gotta go cause I haven't blogged much yet and Daddy's gonna want to go to bed soon. Have a Happy Easter! Or should I say HOPPY Easter! hehehe

Well Mommy tried to make me a vest for Easter. Mind you, Mommy does not sew very well. She can embroider with the best of them. She has made StarWars scarves including likeneses of Yoda for Rikki, Anakin and herself, I have worn one, too! No pattern except what she made herself then looks at a picture and makes it happen. She is proud of them, but with sewing machine sewing, she hasn't mastered anything more complicated than mending a seam! BOL!
Well she had no pattern so she tried looking at a sweatshirt hoodie jacket. She was gonna make it reversible so it could be yellow or white! Poor Mommy, I thought she was gonna cry because if she had finished putting it together the way she started to, it would have ended up with one leghole....Bahahahah! She changed plans and got it together but no way to get my legs in theholes unless I could get in between the white and yellow material. The seam ripper appeared and the "vest" got another workover! Now when she finished this time, tried it on me and stepped back and looked at me, I looked like I was wearing a cape with legholes. It was a disaster of "Titanic" size and it, too was in 3D! The look on her face made me want to cry too, or maybe it was the thought of having to wear that disasterous attempt at design! I kinda think it was the latter! Well, since Maya got the dress for Easter and earlier a Flower to wear on her collar Clothes for me just aren't in the budget.....oh darn, gee whiz , I am beside myself with grief and shame at the thought of only wearing the White Bowtie Mommy already had that she bought from a Bridal Place a very long time ago, and used to wear herself. Gosh will I ever be able to hold my head up with any pride? I think I will survive this tragedy, but Mommy, I am not so sure. She thinks she failed me but really she did me a favor and doesn't realize it!
I tried to help her feel better today by doing the crawl she has been trying to teach me. I did it when she called me over with the toenail clippers in her hand! When she was trimming my nails, I was very good so it didn't become a difficult endeavor! I just hope it helps eventually. Maybe I should steal the "vest/cape" and hide it so she doesn't see it. Everytime she sees it laying on the table she looks sad again! Poor thing, she said she failed me and let me down. I wish I could tell her the truth that she made me VERY HAPPY!! Now when I go to Grandmas on Easter, I will be comfortable and all boy!

Well, Mommy has inflamation in her nose and fluid in her right ear. She also got a cortisone shot in her left knee because of the pain. Her cartilage is wearing away and her knee is bad but doesn't need surgery, YET!
Well, I think I have figured it out. Mommy has 2 personalities. Not that DID kind like you see in the movies and those infamous Soap Operas. Just Crazy and NOT Crazy. You know, the amusing kind. one day she is just fine and everything is hunkie dorie! The next day, she is running around like a chicken with it's head chopped off! ( do chickens REALLY do that? ) Anyway, on those days Mommy loses anything and everything that isn't attached....thank goodness that head of hers that ISN'T shrunk is attached!!
She even loses me and Maya and most of the time, we are right behind her while she is running around calling our names...BOL!! That is a RIOT!! She would be a hoot at a rousing game of Hide and Seek...talk about hiding in plain sight! Bahahahaha!
Sometimes when she is having one of those "crazy" days, she tries to put things that don't belong in the refrigerator, IN the refrigerator and things that DO belong there somewhere else! BOL! It isn't a BIG problem cause it doesn't happen often, but it sure is hilarious when it does!!
Those are the days me and Maya stay "hidden" behind her where she doesn't see us to make sure she doesn't get "lost" herself!! Bahhahahahaha!
I think I'm gonna "bone up" (there's another one) on some of those dippy expressions Mommy and Daddy (and other humans, too, for that matter) use when they talk so I can enlighten you so you don't get too confused listening to their convoluted conversations!

A Note from Coopie ... I am getting up in years, we are not too sure of my date of birth, but I have entered my 17th year of life. I am running for DOTM in April and I sure would like your votes each day. I still love to eat, sleep and rule the house, Buddy, Scooby and Kitty Boy, well, they just know who is boss! I have some hearing problems, some vision problems and a little arthritis, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with my voice, I think I have the prettiest bark, not so sure Mom and Dad totally agree, but I sure do love to sing oh, I mean bark!
