How We Met?

After Rico died I was heartbroken. Finally when GrumpyPants gave the ok I started looking on PetFinder. Lily was a name I actually had picked out for a new little girl & when I saw this Lily I thought maybe it was fate. She came from a shelter in Spindale, North Carolina & she found her way to God's Will Small Dog Rescue in LaPlata, Md. Miss Patty was her sponser & after another lady had to return her because her old Chi didn't like her I was given the call. We took her home that day & she has had her forever home ever since. Lily became Dog of the Day on Oct 30, 2008 & again July 2, 2011Affiliations: Chihuahua Club 8/31/08Diva Dog Club 11/25/09Winstons K9 Club 3/22/10Hunters Club 6/17/10Puppy Pals Club 8/8/2011

Thank you so very much for helping make Shadowfax king of the Horse Channel! We couldn't have done it without the support of friends like you and I very much appreciate your help and your friendship. I'm so sorry I didn't stop by with a story last night. Out of nowhere a migraine hit and I lost my sight. I hate it when that happens. It makes me appreciate all the more how difficult life must be for those who can't ever see. I still have remnants of the headache but thankfully I can at least see tonight! Enough of me! We want one last adventure with the King! The moon is so huge tonight that even though it's still waxing we can clearly see its main craters illuminated by its silver glow. Shadowfax solemnly stops by each of us and lowers his majestic head for a kiss and a last goodbye. It's a sad moment. I will miss going on all these adventures with you and him. We follow him as he starts towards the hill from where we first saw the ocean with him. The steep incline looks intimidating in this silver light. We dare not venture down with him as this time we are not mounted but are using our own two clumsy feet. He's already halfway down. He pauses and turns to look back at us. Can this be the last time we see him? He reaches the bottom and quickens his pace to a steady trot. From all sides come the other horses, their coats shimmering in the moonlight. Moonbeams reflect off the water and lend a mystery to the atmosphere. Shadowfax transitions to a smooth, beautiful canter and as he follows the edge of the ocean he is followed by his band of friends as they canter through the surf. Suddenly we distinctly hear a clear whinny in the night air. It is followed by a hundred others. They are saying farewell to us. And, I like to think, "till next time?" Again, I can't thank you enough for your help last month. Leaving a special silver vote of gratitude.

Hi Lilypup

Happy Thursday. We hope your daddy is better now. I think your poor momma needs a vacation from illness. Maybe she needs a hospital room just to get a break from taking care of everyone. Abbie has not been feeling well. She was throwing up, wouldn’t eat & had diarrhea. Mom gave her some Pepto and started her on hamburger & rice. She seems to be feeling better now. Her tummy has been acting up off & on over the past few months. It may be her anal glands causing the problems. She has been to the vet just about once a month a lately to get her glands emptied. But mom is thinking that it might also be the result of the Science Diet food that she has been eating. Mom has been feeding Money, Abbie & Pooh the Science Diet food that I won since Halloween in October. So Abbie will now be eating the same food that I eat. Since my food is made for dogs with allergies & sensitive stomachs, mom is hoping that Abbie will no longer have the tummy issues. My liquid anti-seizure meds arrived today. So in the morning I will begin the tapering off process. I haven’t ever had any liquid medication so hopefully I will take it without any problems. Since I have been taking pills 3 times a day for the past 3 months, I automatically open my mouth for mom so that all she has to do is pop the pill in. Somehow I think getting the liquid down mw may be a lot more difficult. Oh well, I guess if I won’t take the liquid then mom can always soak the liquid up with a paper towel & feed me the paper towel. We all know that I wouldn’t have any problems eating the paper towel. Well this is it Day 31 of our DOTM Run and our final day. Fun Dog Facts Within hours of the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center, specially trained dogs were on the scene, including German Shepherds, Labs, and even a few little Dachshunds It costs approximately $10,000 to train a federally certified search and rescue dog. A dog can locate the source of a sound in 1/600 of a second and can hear sounds four times farther away than a human can. Dog nose prints are as unique as human finger prints and can be used to identify them. Dogs are about as smart as a two- or three-year-old child. This means they can understand about 150-200 words, including signals and hand movements with the same meaning as words. Thanks so much for the love, support and votes. Don't forget the dogs that are running for DOTD, they sure would appreciate your votes. Also if you have time our friends on the other channels also have there furbabies running for there May of the month badges BOTM-Trillian 186056 COTM-Mike 161232 HOTM-Texas 209066(Maggie is his dog sis on DC) HOTM-Shadowfax 49806 THEY WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE IF YOU CAN RUN OVER WITH A VOTE FOR THEM WE JUST REALIZED THAT WE DON'T HAVE IN HERE THAT WE ARE LEAVING YOU A VOTE ALSO DAILY!!!!!!!!!

Hi LilyPup!

Running by with a vote. Trying to catch up on DC! Hope you're having a nice day. Yesterday and today we've had some internet problems. Yesterday it was too slow and messed up, and today for awhile it was completely down. Of course it's back up now and is running a bit better than it was earlier, so we told mom to help us get on DC now! *hugs* Muffin, Brandon, and Peanut

Good Evening, Lily!

Whew! WHAT a busy month May has been for us. I'm planning on blogging much more this June, but I wanted to start off early and let you all know how we have been doing today! First off, I have a LOT of new photos so come by soon and check them out :) Secondly, I have some bad news. Mom had to sell our cows, Annie (the calf) and Claire (the mother), because it was all too much work and commitment. We have so many animals.. over 100 chickens, a duck, a goose, a steer (Claire's twin brother, whom we're keeping), two alpacas, two cats, a budgie and we dogs. So instead of wasting a perfectly good milking cow (Claire) and a possibly good future milking cow (Annie), we sold them to a dairy farm down the road. Mom's dad, whom she still lives with, is friends with the farmers so we know that the two went to a very good home. Mom of course misses them both (especially little Annie) VERY much, but we had passed our limit on how many pets we can have. Another exciting thing is that we got 66 chicks on Tuesday!! All but five are going to be for meat, so they aren't pets that will hold the family down. For those who know the breeds of chickens, we got Jersey Giants, Dark Cornish and Brown Leghorn. YET another thing that has us on our toes, is that we have a hen that has been brooding a clutch of eggs. Well the first baby hatched either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning (we found the chick on Wed. morning)! Mom and I have been keeping a close eye on the other eggs. This afternoon, another chick was trying to hatch. And while you're not supposed to intervene, Mom helped #2 get out of the shell because it was taking so very long. Turns out, it might have a deformed leg (hard to tell right now, but she's pretty sure) so Mom wonders if it would have been capable of breaking through the shell by itself. Now we've got a #3 peeping in it's shell. I love helping Mom take care of chicks! Well this blog is getting SUPER long, so I'll have to get going now. Anyway, I'm ecstatic to be back on DC, and maybe I'll be blogging every day now? We'll see! Pawing a vote for you .. have a wonderful night dear friend :) Border Collie Kisses, Ruby Tuesday Rose ♥ xoxo

Hi LilyPup :-)

I'm so glad to hear that everyone is well or at least getting better! And wow, what a hunter you are! We have wild bunnies and little lizards in my backyard but I don't hunt them. I give them my "play bow" to show that I am friendly and won't hurt them. They let me walk up pretty close to them after a while :-) I let them use my fenced in yard as protection from the coyotes and hawks. Hugs and a vote ♥ Bella Boo :-)

Hi LilyPup and Moma...

Oh No! So sorry to hear that Dad had to go to the emergency room last Friday, but so glad to hear that is home and doing better. Hope he's doing better and all the congestion is gone. Keeping Dad in our get well prayers, and happy that Mom and Grammy are doing well. Keeping Bonnie in our prayers and hope the pain went away. We were so happy that we could visit Paulette last weekend. We just had to be there for her, and comfort her after another loss. She is doing okay, and we kept her busy all weekend. We are so thankful for DC and al the friends that we made, and the special friendship we have made with Paulette is a blessing....Chey and Chip will always live in all our hearts, and we we all feel like family. Thank you so much for your kind words, they meant so much. WooHoo! good for you Miss Mole Huntress! They are nasty creatures, but you have a notch in your collar!! Have a great weekend, and left a vote...Shiloh Snuggles..Takoda and Moma
