How We Met?

After my Izzy went to the Rainbow Bridge, I decided we needed to give a dog a home. I looked on Petfinder for a tibbie, and there she was. Annie was found as a stray in central NJ, so we know nothing of her background. Someone had taken the time to craft a little bead necklace with her name and attach it to her collar. So, she was probably loved. But no one came to claim her during her month at the city shelter, and she had no adoption applications - Annie had run out of time. Older dogs don't stand much of a chance when they are surrounded in the shelter by so many young ones. Her vet thinks she is 8 or 9, which is really still middle-aged for small dogs.-- Eat Coast Asian Rescue, Inc.

Angel Annye and Family

God looked around His garden, And He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your precious face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest; God' s Garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain He knew you'd never ever Get well on earth again. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered " Peace be thine " Then He took you up to Heaven With Hands so gentle and kind. It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God welcomed you home. We are so sorry to hear about you going to the Bridge. We know your family is heartbroken. We know that they love you and will miss you so much. Keeping your family wrapped in our prayers. Giant Hugs..Xena, Zeus, Sam, and Mom Kim

HI ANNYE

DC has really been a mess the last few days hasn't it? And it is still iffy today. It has become the land of disappearing blogs lately. I am sorry you are having so much rain. None of us like it, although Mama would like a nice shower every few days so she didn't have to do so much watering. Maybe late at night when none of us need to go outside? Beau is doing pretty good. He finished radiation 2 weeks ago tomorrow. He will continue with the melanoma vaccine for the rest of his life, go in once a month to check for regrowth in his mouth and every 3 months for chest xrays. Mama would like to see him eating a little better, but he doesn't seem to be in pain and seems to feel well, so we are pleased with that. Tess' ears are still bothering her. She goes back to the Dr. Friday. I am doing okay. I went with Mama and Beau last week for his melanoma vaccine and the trip seemed to be harder on me than they usually are...but not as hard as Mama going without me. We've never tried liquid lasix. Mama hides mine in roast beef and so far I am taking it well. I am glad your Mama found some that is easier for you to take. Mama gives so many pills around here she is all for anything that makes it easier. I think "watching" the preparations from your bed is a great idea. I, of course, would be barking at the painters and driving everyone crazy. Take care my friend. Have a wonderful afternoon and I will talk to you soon. Love, Abby

HI ANNYE

Oh, Annye, you should be around here when Alabama and Mississippi State play. When Bama wins at least Mama doesn't gloat, but Daddy can be really obnoxious when State wins. Mama has seen several things with "A House Divided" and State on one side and Ole Miss on the other. She has just never been able to find anything with Bama on one side and State on the other. Mama has thought about one of those shirts for me, but I freak out so bad when she puts a collar on me she is afraid the shirt would be as bad as whatever she was trying to calm me for and has just never gotten one for me. And I am a lot better with storms than I used to be. I will never like them, but at least I don't try to jump through a window like I used to. Tess is like you. Sleeps right through storms...at least unless I get really scared and sit on her while I am trying to get to Mama. She wakes up really fast then. We had a nice quiet weekend. Beautiful weather, but it is sure warming up today. We are back in the mid 90s, but at least our humidity is still fairly low. I hope you get some nice dry weather soon so you can enjoy some outside time because we have really been enjoying this. Back to LSU for Mama and Beau Wednesday. If all goes well this will be their last weekly trip and boy am I glad. I am such a Mama's baby. Take care my friend. Have a wonderful afternoon and I will talk to you soon. Love, Abby

HI ANNYE

It is so good to hear from you. I am sorry you are having so much rain. We got 17 1/2 inches from Lee, but we aren't going to complain. We had been under a blanket of foul smelling smoke from a marsh fire and all the rain finally put that out and he left some wonderful temps and much lower humidity behind and we are really enjoying this nicer weather. We had a standing water in the yard for several days and still have some muddy spots so Mama still has towels at the ready for our feet. Why don't our Mamas just get up and give us what we want when we want it? Don't they know that would just be easiest on everyone? Ahhhh...football. Being in New Orleans Daddy is a big Saints fan. He is a Mississippi State grad so he is also a BIG Mississippi State fan. During football season unless HIS team does something really good or really stupid and he starts yelling at the TV, we wouldn't even know he was in the house. If there are two games on at the same time that interest him he will even be watching one of them on TV and listening to the other on the radio. I am having a really hard time with Mama being gone so much and this past Wednesday was the worst yet. Beau has been doing really well with his treatment, but has begun to have some problems. He is doing a little better today, but had a pretty rough day yesterday. He is scheduled for one more radiation and has two more of the initial 4 injections of the melanoma vaccine. After that he will go back to LSU monthly for rechecks and every 6 months for another injection of the melanoma vaccine. We are hoping that he will be feeling better after he finishes radiation and that I will handle Mama being gone once a month better than I am handling her being gone every week. I think she should just give Beau her keys and let him drive himself and she can stay home with me. Take care my friend. Have a great weekend and enjoy your peaceful Sunday. Talk to you soon. Love, Abby
