Hi Hollie and Bindi
Our Easter was pretty nice. We went to Grandma and Aunt Mindi's. This time, I didn't run through the apartment like the last time. Of course there was no little girl to play with and my cousin Jeremy (her Daddy) wasn't there for me to play with either!
Maya was her usual quiet well behaved little self EXCEPT a couple of times, when their cat Tuffy started to come over by Mommy Maya did her ruff-ruff-ruff-ruff I'm gonna attack you act and he stopped. I NEVER growled or even looked cross at the Cat and by golly, he wopped me with those declawed front paws!....more than once!! I was just sittin there not even aware he was there and kapow! he bopped me. What is THAT?! I guess they just passed it down the line, Maya yells at Tuffy, Tuffy clobbers Chewie, Chewie goes after....wait a minute, there isn't anybody left for Chewie to go after! So not fair! Nice guys do finish last ya know. In my case I don't even get to finish cause I never even got started! I don't have a mean bone in my body and the worst I do is just pester Maya and not give up when we are playing. Then what happens? I get to be at the bottom of the "foodchain" here! Maya didn't touch Tuffy just made noise, I didn't do anything and I was assaulted by a cat that thinks hes Muhammed Ali or something.

If you were wondering what I am doing right now, I have my PuppyDog lip stuck out and am practicing looking very sad and abused with big ol puppyDog eyes filled with tears. I'll let you know how that works. Sympathy anyone?

OMD! I had a harrowing experience today! Daddy did some outside work and Mommy wasn't feeling real good. so she was dozing off and on in her recliner, after giving Maya another haircut. (She decided she didn't get it short enough the last time)Well, needless to say they weren't paying a lot of attention to where I was or what I was doing!Later in the afternoon to early evening Maya and the kitties acted like they heard something. Mommy listened and said she heard me crying and it sounded pitiful like I was hurt or in trouble. It wasn't very loud. Mommy said something to Daddy and he listened. Then they started looking for me and calling my name! They looked in the closets in the bedroom (a common place for the puppy dogs before us to get locked in) and...no Chewie! Next up was the old office room that they keep closed if they aren't in there and the spare bedroom...no Chewie! Mommy opened the front door cause Daddy asked if maybe I was outside...no Chewie! Daddy went downstairs and opened the door to the back area where Dady's workshop is and called me...no Chewie! he started back up and they could still hear me. I WAS in the basement!! Daddy came back and opened the door and I ran out past him like a bat out of you-know-where and straight up the stairs to Mommy! I paid no attention to Daddy until he came UP the stairs where I was safe from getting accidentally re-imprisoned!! Then he got the enthusiastic Thank You Very Much attention from me! It was really a traumatic experience! There I was all alone in the dark basement. It was so dark in there I couldn't see my little black paw in front of my muzzle!
I was hearing all kinds of sounds and noises overhead, probably everybody going about their lives upstairs like nothing was wrong while I languished alone in the dark wondering where my next meal was coming from, or would I starve to death....maybe I would die of thirst. I definately couldn't turn on the water faucets. My paws aren't built for that! besides, one of them is too darn high for a short guy like me. Yup! I was in dire straits down there and they weren't even aware I was missing! I wish there was a way to send out one of those alerts to the news people. Maybe if it scrolled across the bottom of the screen on that black box they watch they would realize I was gone. I didn't want to ruin my reputation as a real tough guy (I had to do enough damage control over those darn bunny ears!)so howling and wailing like a girl was out. I had no choice but to use a pitiful but not wimpy whine, NOT A CRY, a WHINE, there IS A DIFFERENCE, and hope that would be enough! Thank goodness it was. I'm glad there wasn't any vermin or larger creatures down there to get me or worse yet to have Maya the little girl terrier save me from. We all know what a great hunter she is! How embarrassing would it be to be saved from the big bad boogie man by your sister!!

Thank you for voting me dotd april second! We're sorry about the late thank you but we've been very busy with mommas birthday on the first, grandma and grandpa leaving the first as well, daddy going out of town on the second and then momma caught a stomach virus as well so we've been a little busy and haven't had much time for dog channel. But all that aside we thank you for celebrating momma's birthday and my adoptiversary with us and we appreciate you all so much. So sorry for not barking at you sooner, but mom is not always a very good secretary for me. I should just try my paws at it, but I think my paws are too big for the laptop (BOL) How have you been? Are you ready for Easter? Mom & dad have been busy with church preparations. I've been just trying to get my skin cleared up. My allergies flared while on vacation and I haven't gotten back to normal yet. I think it's the warm weather we had while we were gone and everything was budding out and blooming and it was doing that here too! March in Wisconsin this year was NOT blustery. We had 80 degree temps and now it's April and we have freeze warnings! What happened to April showers bring May flowers? Mom's flowers are up, but this morning the daffodils look a little droopy. Mom's not sure if they will bounce back later in the day or if they took one too many "frosts" since they have been up. Mom and I are wondering what it's going to do to our Hopa tree up front. It's always so pretty, but who knows what will happen this year. Well I gotta run. Leaving you a vote and wishing you a blessed Easter. Shepherd hugs, Contessa

Dog Park night. Shiva was running like the wind - the fastest dog at the park by far. Blue got his first taste of an aggressive dog - good thing it had a muzzle on! He didn't know what to make of it since he's a big marshmellow! My daughter brought her little dogs too, Pebbles & Roxy. Pebbles was so shivering cold she had to stay tucked inside my daughter's jacket!

A Note from Coopie ... I am getting up in years, we are not too sure of my date of birth, but I have entered my 17th year of life. I am running for DOTM in April and I sure would like your votes each day. I still love to eat, sleep and rule the house, Buddy, Scooby and Kitty Boy, well, they just know who is boss! I have some hearing problems, some vision problems and a little arthritis, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with my voice, I think I have the prettiest bark, not so sure Mom and Dad totally agree, but I sure do love to sing oh, I mean bark! Wow, so many dogs helping out on the HC! More dogs than any other channel, I believe! I'm going to be busy blogging this month!
Normally I don't let mama blog on here. After all it is DOG channel and not mama channel, but I will make an exception because she begged to be able to relate something that happened last week.

Okay, now here is mama's anecdote.
I took her (she means ME) and the two fluffy boys to the Post Office. They were all off leash. The Post Mistress offered them some biscuits. Melian turned her nose up at them and pushing past the lady she went into the back of the office and started a search for something better.
Upon the failure of this exercise she returned and stood behind me and cried and whined while we were working with several parcels. She put her front feet on the counter as usual and looked irresistible. She was having second thoughts about refusing those biscuits which ended up going to the boys.
Suddenly with no warning, BOING, she was on the counter walking among the parcels and in between the computers. I immediately grabbed her and put her back down. The women gasped and looked suitably impressed!
"Wow, did you see that?" "Aw, she must want a biscuit."
So, out came the biscuits again and this time she ate them. 2 seconds later... BOING, she was up on the counter again and this time she was walking along the table towards the back. I quickly grabbed her again. Hm, what has she learned?
Anyway, she made quite an impression! (Don't I always? hehe)
