It was so nice to hear from you. Thank you for the compliments on my pictures. Mama is still learning, but she sure has fun trying. We had a very nice Valentine's and hope yours was too. We have been having the strangest weather. Really cold for us any time and particularly for this time of year. We had temps a few weeks ago colder than they had been since 1989. Three of our six palm trees are definitely dead and another one isn't looking so good. It just doesn't get cold enough here to kill palm trees. Our hibiscus aren't looking very good either. We covered all our bougainvillea and put lights under the blankets with them. We haven't unwrapped them yet to see how they are doing. Every time we consider uncovering them it gets really cold again. If they have survived so far we don't want to do anything to endanger them now. Sometimes the way our cats go at each other you would think they were bitter enemies, then the next second they are snuggling and licking each other. They never seem to really hurt each other, but they sure sound vicious at times. They've never hurt Beau or me, but Tess got a little too up close and personal when she first came to live with us and one of them swatted her in the eye and she got a corneal ulcer for her trouble. She doesn't bother the kitties any more. Oh, I hope you do get a new little brother. Allergies can be hard to deal with sometimes. Mama always swore that Maggie was allergic to the very air she breathed. When Mama had her tested they tested for 106 things and she was allergic to 105. Oddly enough she was allergic to cats. And she loved them. She grew up with them and they loved each other so much Mama wouldn't separate them, but is still pretty sure if she had bought stock in Benedryl when Maggie was a puppy she would be rich now. Maggie's allergies were so bad Mama gave her allergy shots twice a week for most of her life. Hated doing it, but they really really helped. When she first started giving them they both cried, then only Mama cried, and finally she got good enough that she could give Maggie's shot and never even wake her up. We are watching pretty much every minute of the Olympics that are available. We start the day on NBC. When they go to regular programming for a few hours we switch to USA Network. When they go to regular programming we go to MSNBC and by the time they go to regular programming NBC has their prime-time coverage. Mama likes the Summer Olympics too, but is a big big fan of the Winter and in addition to enjoying the Olympics themselves, Canada is one beautiful country and she is enjoying all the scenes of the country that they are showing. The opening ceremony from China was good...sort of a techno-marvel...but Canada's opening ceremony--WOW! We heard several people wonder if Canada would ever be able to top China's. Ginger seems like she is playing to rough for you! Sometimes Scooby plays very rough too, you are sure right, for skinny things, they are sure strong. Ginger is probably bigger than Scooby, he only weighs around 11 lbs, but it is 11 lbs of "Terrierism"!! She is just a pup, so soon, she will need her naps and things will cool off a bit for you. Until then all I can say in "duck" when you see her come flying!! The Olympics will be fun for a while, but before they are finished Mom will be bored with them. Always happens! Too bad there is no snow, there is snow almost everywhere else! Figures, everywhere but where it is needed, bet Minnesota & Wisconsin would be glad to share some of their snow! Woofs, Buddy

HELLO DODGER

It is so good to hear from you. I hope you had a nice Christmas and are all doing well. We have had some almost unheard of temps for this area. Had several days we didn't get out of the 30s during the day and those temps did really aggravate my arthritis. Mama's fountain froze several nights and it beginning to look like 3 of our palm trees and Mama's hibiscus may not have make it through the winter. We are back up to 83° and I am moving much better, but Mama will definitely try to find some Traumeel and Zeel. I am already on sooooo many meds because of my heart, pancreas, and kidneys any time we can use something homeopathic and not add still more meds to my pile is good. Mama finished her dental work Dec. 21. Thought it was never going to end. Still adjusting to some of the restoration, but over all is doing pretty good. Your kitties fighting reminds Mama of when Jasmine and Jezebel were kittens. She heard this awful caterwauling and went running to see what was going on. Jasmine was sitting on top of their kitty condo with one of her front legs hanging over the side and Jezebel was hanging from her claws. They are 10 now and much calmer, but those two were running over with energy when they were kittens. When Tess first came to live with us she got right up in Phoebe's face kind of like "Tess is here and ready to take over." Tess got a corneal ulcer for her attitude and has had a really healthy respect for all the kitties ever since. Usually all they have to do now is look at her funny and she quickly decides she has something else she needs to be doing and on those rare occasions she forgets that they have claws and aren't afraid to use them, all they have to do is give her a tiny hiss and she is gone. We don't blame you Mom for not liking the hissing and spitting close to her. Sometimes they go from hissing and spitting at each other to going after whoever is close. Take care my friends.
