Dani-Happy Valentines Day

My Photos

How We Met?

I saw her picture on the internet and she was so cute I couldn't resist. I cannot see you Mommy, when you cuddle me so near. And yet I know you love me, it's in the words I hear. I cannot see you Daddy, when you hold me by your side But still I know you love me when you tell me so with pride. I cannot see to run and play out in the sun so bright For here inside my tiny head it's always dark as night. I cannot see the treats you give when I am extra good But I can wag my tail in Thanks just like a good dog should. "She cannot see. The dogs no good" is what some folks might say "She can't be trained, she'll never learn She must be put away." But not you, Mom and Daddy You know that it's all right Because I love you just as much as any dog with sight. You took me in, you gave me love and we will never part Because I'm blind with just my eyes, I see you in my heart.

Hi Dani, here's a paw on that bone of yours. Glad those winds died down and you can't be blown away. Make sure mom gets that garden done right now! BOL! Well, it's raining again. Of course they did say most of this week it would. Geezz! usually they are wrong, the weather men that is! But no, this time they have been right 2 days in a row! But I do get to go down to the barn with mom and we go inside the indoor arena and play in there for some run time! BOL! I'm not a runner! I just walk around and check things out! Harley.

Hi Dani

First time to blog in almost a week. Mom was gone last Tuesday and Wednesday. And has been sick since last Thursday. Probably a virus she picked up at the hotel. Or who knows where else. Got her out for a walk tonight. Good to see her not in bed. On my end of things. Not much is going on. Been busy watching the NBA play offs. Our team the Spurs are doing well. Last night was a late game. It was hard to sleep with the noise. Sometimes wish Mom didn't have a t.v. in her room. Kind of hard to get my beauty sleep. Can't wait for Uncle Phil to get back. He just left Chicago today. He saw Hilary Clinton and the Australian President. There are secret service agents everywhere there to. I guess with the top leaders. All the extra security is needed. Wish I had some here. When those darn birds are going after me. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Byron

Hi Dani, here's a paw on that bone of yours. Okay, that's better, stay out of the dog house. Just use the biggest voice you can and growl at them to leave you alone! Of course, I've never growled, don't really know what that is, but I hear other dogs do it sometimes at the horse shows. It scares me away! I'm a big chicken lab! BOL! So glad that I got be out most of the day yesterday, cause guess what! It's raining today and mom said maybe most of this week it will rain. BOO!!!!!!!!! Of course rain means that mom can't work outside that much, so she's in the house with me. Lot's more mom and me time then. Harley.

As promised, we will see the golden sun and the silver moon on this adventure! We ready our steeds and prepare ourselves for a run of 8 miles or so. With their metallic hooves pawing the ground and their nostrils flaring the horses are impatient! The sun is already shining with a peculiar light. Everything is bathed with iridescent sunbeams. Our eyes have been specially protected against any harmful rays. We look at the sun and see a slight concave bump in the side. It's the moon! We ride for a 3rd of an hour and stop to take in the passage of the moon across the sun. It is now halfway on its journey. The sun is clearly a crescent. A single solid sunbeam cuts across the sky and shoots straight into the earth. It is clearly visible like a lance piercing the earth in a direct line from the sun. The sun also shines multiple separate sunbeams that play with our shadows. We look down and we have double shadows! A few inches to the left of all shadows is a second, lighter shadow. Several of the horses look down in amazement and a couple of them sniff the shadows and snort suspiciously. The shadow is harmless and soon the horses are ready to go a little further on our journey. A little while later we again pause and look up at the sky. There are a few clouds but they only enhance the beauty of what we see. The sky is an unnatural, over saturated blue. It's so brilliant that it almost looks like precious sapphires! The ultimate moment is almost here. We await the completion of the Ring of Fire and watch as the moon makes its path to create a perfect circle. Wow! It is amazing to behold! There are a few exclamations of wonder but most are silently watching with wonder. The sun is a golden circle with a dark centre that is the moon. The ring is clearly visible for several minutes. Then it is over. The moon continues its journey to the other side and we continue our journey to the river and let the horses and dogs take much needed drinks. Soon the clouds are covering the sun. We were lucky! We had a clear sky at the crucial moment. Now the sun is a misshapen blob as we start our own journey back home. There are a few moments of clarity when we pause to look back up at the sun. It will never feel quite the same. Thank you so much for your votes for Shadowfax! And I hope you enjoyed experiencing the annular solar eclipse with me. Check out the photos I took. They are on Shadowfax's page. in the first photo you can clearly see the prominent sunbeam. So cool! Leaving a vote of thanks.

Another sunny midday adventure! This evening is a full solar "ring of fire" eclipse. For those of you fortunate enough to live on the West coast you can see the solar eclipse at 6:30 this evening. I'm so excited because we are in Northern California and will see it at its peak with perfect symmetry. On the internet I looked up the very narrow path which will show what part of the earth will have prime viewing and we're directly in the centre! In fact, it's already getting a little bit darker. And have you considered that Shadowfax is a mythical creature from the Lord of the RINGS! And this is a RING of fire eclipse? I love the poetry! So, at around 5:30 we will take our shining steeds (bicycles) and head out to the valley. For those of you who won't be able to see it in real life, come and join us on your silver and golden stallions and we'll make a party of it! Thank you so much for your votes for Shadowfax and for Pippin too. Leaving you another vote. PS And of course, I (Melian) get to go too!

Hahahahaha Dani....

You have all those humans working to appease their little girl. And of course you wanted Moma in the chair so you could nap. I mean I understand perfectly. In the morning when they eat their cereal I come out and beg at the table. Moma lets me have some dry food by Royal Canine which is made for my breed. Anyway she takes 15 kibbles or so and puts it on the floor. I don't like to eat it on the floor I like Moma to put it in her hand and hand feed me. If she puts them on the floor beside her foot I just walk back and forth ignoring it. The minute she puts some in her hand I come eat it. Oh yes us little dogs can be demanding....hahahaha we are worth it though....hugs LilyPup (another spoiled dog)

So sorry for being gone for so long, again. Mom was pretty sick for the past four weeks, and one of our cats, CoCoa, got in a fight. and she never gets in fights so that was weird, but she had a pretty bad cut on her ear. Its almost completley healed now, thank goodness. Plus the normal business of life, just haven't had time for the computer lately. And the kind of internet we have, through moms phone, has been really slow and not really working well lately. But we have also been enjoying the sunshine. Yes, sun! Two weeks of mostly 70 degree weather. That felt like summer to us. Really warm compared to normal. So everyone was out in there shorts and what not. Mom is just thinking about later on in Aug./Sept. when its gonna be like 85-90 degrees. That's real summer! But now we are getting back into the normal routine of 50/60's rainy cloudy weather. Dang. Mom has been baking too. She says she likes it better than cooking. (Like dinners and stuff) She made some little french donut things that were really good. I got some that didn't have powdered sugar on them. They were pretty tasty little treats. And of course cookies and what not. She says what else are you supposed to do when your sick? She only stayed home for 2 or 3 days out of the 4 weeks she was sick but those days were plenty. Bol. She also made puppy chow. For those of you who got all excited like me, don't be. What an evil trick! This so called "Puppy chow" is chex cereal, covered in melted peanut butter/chocolate and some powdered sugar. Sounds yummy right? So here I am, sitting on the floor last night waiting for some and then the humans start eating it. Hello? "Puppy chow" sounds like its for dogs to me! But apparently its not, so my hopes and dreams were shot down and I was a sad dog the rest of the night. Ok not really...maybe I am being a little over dramatic but I think if humans are going to eat it, they shouldn't name it stuff like "PUPPY.." it should be called "Human chow." Enough said. Hehe. Well, we hope to blog again soon, and we always do hope to but sorry if we can't! Have a nice sunday! Licks, Love, & Prayers ♥ Zoey

Hi Dani

Hope everyone is doing well. We're ok here. Mom and Big Sis have been busy lately. Big Sis is still working on her book when she can find the time. She hopes to get a chance to work on it more soon. Mom's still got the cleaing bug and is still working on cleaning out her closets. I try to help by checking out the stuff she drags out, but she just tells me to get out of the way. Last weekend Big Sis went to the Busch Gardens amusement park with her boyfriend and his little girl with the year-long free passes Big Sis won last week. They stayed all day Saturday, from open until close and had a great time. The little girl loved it and wanted to come back the next day, but Big Sis and her boyfriend were so worn out, that wasn't going to happen. They may go back this weekend, though. Then last Sunday, Big Sis celebrated her birthday early with her dad, then did the Mother's Day thing with Mom later in the day. Then Tuesday was Big Sis's birthday. She had a nice day then. But her boyfriend wasn't able to celebrate it with her since his daughter was sick. So he brought Big Sis a gift and cake to her at work the next day. Yesterday Mom, Big Sis, and Big Brother held a yard sale. That was fun. When I was allowed outside, I got to meet some people, and I barked at a couple of cats that were hanging out next door.
