Happy Saturday everyone!! Since it's WORLD SERIES time, we thought our next duo should have something to do with baseball. So here is the most famous baseball dialog in the USA! Abbott & Costello's Who's on First? It was a vaudeville comedy routine. In 1956 a gold record of "Who's on First?" was placed in the Baseball Hall of Fame museum in Cooperstown, New York. A video (taken from The Naughty Nineties) now plays continuously on screens at the Hall. The names given in the routine for the players at each position are: First Base: Who Second Base: What Third Base: I Don't Know Left field: Why Center field: Because Pitcher: Tomorrow Catcher: Today Shortstop: I Don't Care At one point in the routine, Costello thinks that Naturally is the first baseman: Abbott: You throw the ball to first base. Costello: Then who gets it? Abbott: Naturally. Costello: Naturally. Abbott: Now you've got it. Costello: I throw the ball to Naturally. Abbott: You don't! You throw it to Who! Costello: Naturally. Abbott: Well, that's it—say it that way. Costello: That's what I said. Abbott: You did not. Costello: I said I throw the ball to Naturally. Abbott: You don't! You throw it to Who! Costello: Naturally. Abbott's explanations leave Costello hopelessly confused and infuriated, until the end of the routine when he finally appears to catch on. He never quite figures out that the first baseman's name literally is "Who". But after all this he announces, "I don't give a darn!" ("Oh, that's our shortstop.") BOL BOL!!! Hope younz guys got a good laugh today and thanks so much for the support this month. Woofs & Prayers R&C

Good Monday morning DC pals!! BARK BARK BARK....TIMMY FELL IN THE WELL!!! Oh no, NOT AGAIN!!! BOL!!! Bet ya can guess who today's famous duo is....Yep, Timmy & Lassie! Lassie is an American television series that follows the adventures of a female Rough Collie named Lassie and her companions. One of the longest running dramatic series on television, the show chalked up seventeen seasons on CBS before entering first-run syndication for its final two seasons. Initially filmed in black and white, the show transitioned to colour in 1965. The show's first ten seasons follow Lassie's adventures in a small farming community. Fictional eleven-year-old Jeff Miller, his mother, and his grandfather are Lassie's first human companions until seven-year-old Timmy Martin and his adoptive parents take over in the fourth season. Dog actors as Lassie Pal (Pilot episodes) Lassie Junior (1954–59) Spook (1960) Baby (1960–66) Mire (1966–1971) Hey Hey (1971–73) Catchphrase "Timmy's in the well!" became a popular catchphrase years after the show's cancellation in reference to the many show situations in which Timmy's safety and welfare were placed in jeopardy. Although Timmy never fell into a well on the show, Jon Provost chose the phrase as the title for his 2007 memoirs, Timmy's in the Well: The Jon Provost Story. Provost points out that Timmy fell into abandoned mine shafts, off cliffs, into rivers, lakes and quicksand, but never fell into a well. BOL!!! How many dogs does it take to pull Timmy out of the well? The Lab will jump in with him for a swim. The Shepherd will stand there and bark...OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT. The Chihuahua will say, "Sorry Timmy, I don' like no stinkin' well" pee on it and walk away. The Bloodhound will sniff his way round and round the well saying, "he's got to be right around this bend somewhere". The Sheltie will jump over the well and back again and again saying " I'm coming Timmy, I'm coming Timmy, I'm coming Timmy......BARK BARK BARK... The Old English Sheepdog will say, "Well?? What Well???" The Border Collie will get some rope, hook up a pulley and lower a flashlight into the well so Timmy can see while he's being pulled to safety!! BOL!!! Hope you all enjoyed our duo of the day and have a great day everyone! We love hearing all the feedback of who's in the spotlight each day. Thanks so much for your votes!! Woofs R&C

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!!! This morning we got up and guess who was on tv when we turned it on?? Yep Laurel & Hardy!! So we will go WAY BACK in time and they will be our featured duo of the day. Stan Laurel (June 16, 1890 – February 23, 1965) was born Arthur Stanley Jefferson in Ulverston, Lancashire, England Oliver Hardy (January 18, 1892 – August 7, 1957) was born Norvell Hardy in Harlem, Georgia. He took his father's first name, calling himself "Oliver Norvell Hardy." Laurel and Hardy's first starring feature film was Pardon Us (1931). The most memorable Laurel and Hardy film is The Music Box (1932), the image of the duo forever pushing a piano up a tremendous flight of steps has stuck in the public consciousness. The film won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Subject in 1932. Most of the Laurel and Hardy films survive, and have never gone out of circulation permanently. Three of their 107 films are considered lost, as they have not been seen in full since the 1930s. Under doctor's orders to improve a heart condition, Hardy lost over 100 pounds (45 kg; 7.1 st) in 1956. Several strokes resulted in loss of mobility and speech. He died of a stroke on August 7, 1957. Laurel lived until 1965, surviving to see the duo's work rediscovered through television and classic film revivals. He died on February 23 in Santa Monica, and is buried at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California. Laurel & Hardy quotes.... Well, here's another fine mess you've gotten me into. --call me a cab. --You're a cab. You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead. (think about it) BOL!! Hope you enjoyed yet another trip into the past remembering two sillies that brought lots of smiles and laughter to everyone who knew them. Have a great day younz guys and thanks so much for the votes!! WOOFS R&C

Happy Saturday Everyone!! Today we go way back to a comedic duo that is known WORLD WIDE!! Bob Hope & Ba ba ba Bing Crosby! BOL!! Bob Hope,(born Leslie Townes Hope; May 29, 1903 – July 27, 2003) was a British-born American comedian and actor who appeared in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in radio, television and movies. He was also noted for his work with the US Armed Forces and his numerous USO shows entertaining American military personnel. Throughout his career, he was honored for his humanitarian work. In 1996, the U.S. Congress honored Bob Hope by declaring him the "first and only honorary veteran of the U.S. armed forces." Bob Hope appeared in or hosted 199 known USO shows. He lived to be 100 years old. Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (May 3, 1903 – October 14, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Crosby's trademark bass-baritone voice made him one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century, with over half a billion records in circulation. Crosby was also an avid golfer, and in 1978, he and Bob Hope were voted the Bob Jones Award, the highest honor given by the United States Golf Association in recognition of distinguished sportsmanship. Playing golf was what he liked to do best. He died at age 74 playing golf at a course outside Madrid, Spain, after completing a tour of England that had included a sold-out engagement at the London Palladium. In the movies, Hope and Crosby would usually play some form of con-artists trying to make a lot of money, with Bing coming up with the ideas and Bob usually doing the dirty work. When confronted by the villain, Hope and Crosby would use a "patty cake" routine before throwing punches, though this would sometimes not work, as in Road to Morocco: "That gag sure gets around, huh?" "Yeah, right back to US!" The only film in the series in which the routine was not used was in Road to Utopia. Both characters would usually promise to not allow women to interfere with their plans, and both would immediately see a woman and forget that promise. Crosby would almost always get the girl. Quotes for the day... I grew up with six brothers. That's how I learned to dance - waiting for the bathroom. Bob Hope There is nothing in the world I wouldn't do for Hope, and there is nothing he wouldn't do for me... We spend our lives doing nothing for each other. Bing Crosby Wishing you all a great weekend and thanks a million for all the votes and feedback on our DOTM daily duos. Woofs and Ba ba ba barks from Ba ba ba Bing Riley & ChipperHope

Good Day DC pals! Today we are featuring the famous duo of Good Ol' Charlie Brown and his beloved Dog Snoopy! Charlie Brown was one of the original cast members of Peanuts when it debuted in 1950. One side, Charlie Brown, symbolized the lack of confidence, shyness, and insecurity we all harbor, to a greater or lesser degree. And the other half, Snoopy, is the confident, totally-in-control, cool character we all, in our hearts. want to be. The comic strip Peanuts was originally called Li’l Folks. The great Charles M Schulz created it in 1950, and it soon became the most popular comic strip in history Two characters in the comic became the “stars” of the strip, the runaway favorites. The two were, as we all know, Charlie Brown and his dog, Snoopy. Popular Quotes.... It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! "i got a rock..." “There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people... Religion, Politics, and The Great Pumpkin. “Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.” YOU BLOCK-HEAD CHARLIE BROWN!! Lucy-Ugh! I've been kissed by a dog! I have dog germs! Get hot waterl, get some disinfectant, get some iodine! Snoopy's response- WaHHH! Good Grief!! Have a great day everyone and thanks for the votes! AUTUMN LEAVES; GOD REMAINS But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. 1 Peter 1:25 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8 Our DC meetup was this past weekend and boy oh boy did we have fun seeing our good friends again and meeting some new ones. Pics are on our Facebook page "Riley Chipper". We all met at our Lake Park and it was just BEAUTIFUL there. The trees are changing from green to all sorts of colors! So in keeping with the season change we're pulling something different from our DOTM grab bag today. Here are two of our favorite Autumn poems. We'll have a new duo theme tomorrow. Have a great day everyone and thanks so much for your support this month. Woofs R&C Autumn When the trees their summer splendor Change to raiment red and gold, When the summer moon turns mellow, And the nights are getting cold; When the squirrels hide their acorns, And the woodchucks disappear; Then we know that it is autumn, Loveliest season of the year. ~Charlotte L. Riser~ Fall The old earth is changing; The seasons turn round. The autumn leaves flutter Their way to the ground. My own world is changing; The seasons conspire To grant me the peace Of a rest by the fire ~Melissa Pinol~ “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight . . .

Howdy there!! Here's another trip down memory lane. How many remember this classic? This is what Saturday morning cartoons was all about! Enjoy!! The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show is the collective name for two American television animated cartoon series: Rocky and His Friends (1959–1961) and The Bullwinkle Show (1961–1964). Rocky & Bullwinkle enjoyed popularity during the 1960s. It was targeted towards children and adults. The characters and plots targeted children, while the usage of puns and topical references appealed to the adult demographic. These strengths helped it overcome the fact that it had choppy, limited animation; in fact, some critics described the series as a well-written radio program with pictures. Ahhhh but it was great! Characters The lead characters and heroes of the series were Rocket "Rocky" J. Squirrel, a flying squirrel, and his best friend Bullwinkle J. Moose, a dim-witted but good-natured moose. Both characters lived in the fictional town of Frostbite Falls, Minnesota, which was based on the real life city of International Falls, Minnesota. The scheming villains in most episodes were the fiendish, but inept, agents of the fictitious nation of Pottsylvania: Boris Badenov, a pun on Boris Godunov, and Natasha Fatale, a pun on femme fatale. Boris and Natasha were commanded by the sinister Mr. Big and Fearless Leader. Other characters included Gidney & Cloyd, little green men from the moon who were armed with scrooch guns; Captain Peter "Wrongway" Peachfuzz, the captain of the S.S. Andalusia; and the inevitable onlookers, Edgar and Chauncy. And who could forget this famous line.... HEY ROCKY, WATCH ME PULL A RABBIT OUT OF THIS HAT!!! I don't think Bullwinkle EVER pulled a rabbit out. It was always some wild animal like a rhino or a lion! heehee Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane with this classic duo! What do you get if you cross a cocker spaniel, a poodle and a rooster? Answer: Cockerpoodledoo! heehee Have a great day everyone and thanks so much for the DOTM support this month!! WOOFS!!!
