Hey, Peakz! Vote #8,562 for ya
It's Ruby the Border Collie!! How have you been? Man, it seems like FOREVER since I've been able to blog. Actually, I think that it HAS been forever!! I mean, Missi had control of the computer for the end of March and beginning of April, and Paul our cat was using it a lot those times too. Spirit Cloude the budgie even managed to squeeze in some computer time, but not me!! Now we've got a baby calf to take care of, too!
Speaking of the baby calf, Mom finally decided on a name for her! Annie :) Took her long enough to think of one, didn't it? Well I sure like that little calf. She's pretty cute. I especially like helping Mom take care of her!! Though, Mom may deny this - she says that running around her, dropping the ball in front of her then giving her the famous "Border Collie Stare" doesn't really qualify as "helping" ... but hey, it's the best I can do!
Mom is hoping that I'll have some new pictures on my page soon ~ But I can't say that I feel the same way! I used to be pretty good for Mom, when it was photoshoot time.. but now that I've realized that whenever the camera is out, that means my ball will be thrown, I just grab my ball, drop it and go hide behind anything I can! Mom say she really doesn't understand why I hide behind stuff while I'm waiting for her to throw my ball. I told her (for like, the hundredth time) that I can't let the ball see me, I have to stalk it! She said there's no sense in that, but what does she know?
Well I suppose I have to get going .. the vet's coming in just a little while to burn Annie's horns off, so I have to finish up my blogs! I sure hope that you'll come visit me soon - I've missed visiting YOU!! Here's a vote for you, have a wonderful day n' don't forget to drop by my page!!

There is only one word for your video AWESOME!!!!! We enjoyed it so much...we thought the first one was the real one BOL....it is beautiful there...that video was just taken in April?..You sure did get lots of snow this year.
We can't believe how well Peaka and Yukon pull you on skis and the snowboard...I'm not sure of your age but the video and music was very impressive....There is no way we could pull anybody, we are too puny BOL Thanks for sharing, and we never get bored or tired of hearing from you,.,.,.lots of puppy kisses and love...R&R

HI! Thanks for stopping by and wishing me congrats on DOTD. I have only been on DC for 8 days and have already won. WOW! My new Mommie told me that when Hope and Faith first went on DC they too won DOTD within the first week and Faith won DOTM within 4 weeks of joining DC. Mommie never even mentioned that there was this honored award. I still don't know how I won. I can't imagine how many votes it takes to even win such an honor and to keep it so quiet. Mom hasn't been on DC in about 4 days and almost didn't come on today but I was sitting near the computer this morning so that is where Mommie ate her breakfast. And suprise suprise. She almost spilled her OJ. Well Faith had her ultrasound on Friday and I had to stay at the office. But Mommie didn't put me in lock down, I got to run loose in the office. Well they were gone for such a long time that Mommie called her receptionist (Candy) to let me go outside. Well after aunt Candy left she called my Mommie and ratted me out. She told her that I chewed up the new laser therapy sign in the office and destroyed one of the squeaky toys. Mommie said that she should lock me up in my kennel but Candy had already left. She said she would turn around by Mommie said no that I will be ok. Boy was she ever wrong!! I pulled the 4 x 8 rug by the front door and turned it upside down. Then I chewed a nice big round hole in it. Now Mommie said that I have to be locked up everytime that she has to go out and do errands. She is not going to leave me at home either for long periods of time. She will bring me back to the office and put me in LOCK DOWN!! Well to get back to Faith, everything went well. Nothing growing in her abdomen and the vet that did the ultrasound said she looks great compared to 3 and 1/2 months ago. Now it will be my turn next Friday for an ultrasound. I have been on antibiotics for over 2 weeks and I still have blood strands of urine coming out of me. So Mommie wants to make sure that there are no stones or masses in my bladder. I know that I won't be as well behaved as Faith was. Speaking of Faith, I just might be making some progress. We both drank out of the same water bowl yesterday at the same time. But then just a few minutes I got to close to her and kept nudging her and she snapped and yapped at me. So I take 1 step forward and 3 backwards. Well gotta go now. I have many more furry friend to thank for making me DOTD. Hopie Too

Hi Peaka
Hope everyone is doing ok. We're ok here. Nothing really exciting has been going on. Weather's been fairly nice for the most part, so we've been enjoying that when we can. I've been getting walks and meeting the occasional kid, which is fun. Also been chasing squirrels when possible :)
Mom's been busy as usual with work and church and all. She's also got the spring cleaning bug and has decided to clean out and rearrange all her closets, so there's been lots of interesting things sitting around for me to check out.
Mom and Big Sis went to the Care-A-Lot pet store yesterday and bought some flea treatment stuff for me. There was some big event going on there this weekend, too, with dogs jumping into pools and stuff, that they went to check out. There were a lot of vendors set up there, too, and Mom and Big Sis brought home a lot of free samples of different brands of food for me to try. There was stuff there mostly for dogs, but they did manage to find a few samples of cat food for Shadow, too.
Big Sis went out with her boyfriend and his daughter last weekend. His church was having a craft fair. The little girl got her face painted, and she even got Big Sis to get her face painted too. So Big Sis spent the whole afternoon with a red seahorse on her cheek.
Big Sis found out this weekend that she's won a 4 pack of season passes from the newspaper to the Busch Gardens amusement park. She's keeping one and giving one to her boyfriend and his daughter. They're looking forward to going, since it's been years since they've been (the last time they went was when he asked her out the first time they dated). His little girl's never been, so it'll be fun for her, too. Big Sis is giving the other pass to Mom, who's been wanting to go to Busch Gardens for a while.

HI Peaka, Tell Yukon Hi, too and your sweet Mommy
Alas, it is true,I got a Boo-Boo! I've been being very good and pretty much minding this past week. I do, however, have a tendency to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong! I don't mean it in the sense that I stick it into other people's business, but literally. I keep sticking my nose, heck , I stick my whole head into tall grass, bushes,leaves on the ground, weeds, brush piles, pretty much anything that happens to catch my attention and be within my reach. hehehe
Usually except for getting me hollered at for not paying attention to anything except what I am fixated on it is usually pretty harmless, but not this time.The last couple of days my eye was really getting what Mommy called "eye-boogers" in it. The left eye was the real culprit, here! Mommy kept cleaning it out. Well it kept getting this matter in the corner more and more often. On Friday morning,Mommy saw my eye was crusted up so she cleaned it and looked in my eye to see if she could see any foreign thing in there or anything. It was very bloodshot.Mommy knew I had had what looked like cherry eye once but before the doctor could see me, it cleared up. Mommy said you don't mess around with eyes! We had to go to the vets office to get the Heartworm and Flea and Tick medicine for me and Maya for May and my vet was working that day. She saw it was us getting the meds and came out to say Hi. Mommy asked her if she had a second to look at my eye. When she saw it she said she needed to put dye in it to check for corneal damage and scratches so she took me to the back. Well the good news is I don't have corneal damage, the BAD news is my eye is scratched!! Mommy has to put antibiotic drops that have a steroid in them in my eye 3 times a day! I am being really good about it! Mommy says she bets I don't learn my lesson, though. First chance I get that head will be right smack dab in the middle of something....no, make that EVERYTHING! I just can't help it. It must be the Dachshund in me that makes me follow my nose. I put it to the ground and I am like a bloodhound....Just call me "Snoopy Sniffer" and I am good at it, too!Maybe since the stuff I stick my head into messed up my eye, and my nose is so reliably on target, I should just close my eyes and follow my nose...you know what they say, "the nose knows" hehehe BOL! Maya is fine she hasn't been bit by any "wild bunnies" or anything! Together we are a handful! Mommy says any of our DC Friends that have more than 2 dogs are BRAVER than her...she says our 2 dogs,
3 cats and 2 birds are quite enough, thank you! You know what I told her? I said, "Your Welcome", I am very polite, ya know!

Hi Peaka
TGIF. Hope you’ve had a great week. Sorry we have been MIA but it has been unavoidable.
Tuesday mom finally went to the doctor for her knee & hand. Her right hand had been tingling so she figured she would just get them checked out. They did not find anything wrong with her knee & pretty much told her just to keep icing it & alleve or advil. As for her hand, they think she has carpal tunnel in her wrist. So she has to wear a brace 24/7 on her right hand & she is right handed. Anyway the brace kind of made it worse on Wednesday but now it seems to actually be improving.
Last night mom was just getting on the computer to answer our blogs when she heard Abbie get mad at me. Since mom was in another room she did not see what happened. So mom put Abbie in her bedroom & proceeded to check me for bites. So mom looked me over & didn’t find anything right away but she did see traces of blood on her hand. Although I have never bitten, mom figured she better check Abbie. She couldn’t find anything on Abbie so it was back to checking me. She did eventually find where the blood had come from. It was me & I had a couple of scrapes on my skin where the skin had broken but no puncture wounds. So mom cleaned them with hydrogen peroxide & put Neosporin on them.
We may not be on much during the next few weeks, most likely only on the weekends. Since Abbie has become so reactive, mom needs to spend more time working with her. When I started having seizures & got sick last year, our whole routine shifted & mom thinks there was probably a hierarchy change due to the fact that I was claiming so much more attention. Add to that the fact that mom wasn’t able to walk Abbie anymore due to people who tie their dogs out in the front yard. They let their dogs lunge & act like they are attacking. Well poor Abbie is blind so she really thinks she is getting attacked and reacts accordingly. German Shepherds get phobic & reactive if they’re not worked. So mom admits that she is mostly to blame by not walking Abbie.
Mom has developed a plan of action for Abbie though & hopefully it will work. She is going to put Abbie in the car & drive her to the outskirts of town or somewhere in the country where there are no other dogs & walk her there. That way she will get a double workout. She will get her walk & her nose/brain will have to work really hard for her to interpret her surroundings. Mom did just that tonight. She took Abbie down by Rural King & the little strip mall. They walked about a mile along the road and then they walked around the whole strip mall parking lot. But mom didn’t let Abbie off that easily. She took Abbie inside Rural King where dogs are allowed. She was a big hit inside the store as Abbie has never met a face she didn’t lick. So she got attention from the store associates & them mom made her walk around the store also. They have baby chicks in there so Abbie got to smell & hear them also. So for now, there is
