How We Met?
Moose and fate. You see, Moose was Mom's "heart dog". He was a Rottie that she first met in a kennel where she worked years ago. She fell for him instantly, and he for her. The owner gave him away, and he was passed to many others, before, in a freakish way, they found each other and he came to live with her. He got cancer when he was 8 years old. He had a toe removed from his left foot as a comfort measure, but the cancer had already spread. He lived for 7 months after the surgery. He was just shy of his 10th birthday. Before he died, Mom asked if he could find his way into another puppy, would he lead her to it? Moose crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 22nd, 2007. Mom, who had been searching for a pup for a couple of weeks, was being told by every breeder she spoke to that they only had females left. She wanted another male! I turned out to be the only male puppy in the area of a couple of states, and she came to see me and fell in love again. I came home with her at 10 weeks old on December 24th, 2007. She swears, like the rest of her family and friends, that Moose is, indeed, in me!! So, that's the condensed version. Hope it explains things well enough. Angel Moose's ashes have a special place here in the house. I never got to know him, but I feel honored that he is somehow a part of me. Yes, I have a huge set of paws to fill, but Mom says I'm doing a fabulous job!!
