Allnext week temps over 100 and no rain in sight. Very bad drought situation here. Our town even cancelled the fireworks celebration they always have. It's one of my absolute favorite dog films and the name of this movie is " A Dog Named Christmas ". A Dog Named Christmas is a Hallmark Hall of Fame tv movie that stars Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) as the father of a developmentally challenged young man that has a wonderfully strong desire to care for animals in need. This young man sets out to convince his family and the whole rural community to participate in a local shelter's inaugural "Adopt a Dog for Christmas Program". It is a very heartwarming story that I can't see any dog person not liking. It is a difficult movie to find for purchase and your best bet is Amazon or the Hallmark Channel Movies Website. I don't know if anyplace else has it for sale or if it is available to rent, but if you can get your hands on a copy of this movie, PLEASE do so and watch it. It's the first live action movie ever produced by Walt Disney. It stars Fred MacMurray, Annette Funicello and Tommy Kirk as Wilby Daniels, a boy who, thanks to sn ancient spell, changes into a sheepdog and back again. It always seems to happen at the most inapproriate times resulting in extremely funny situations. The spell can only be broken by an act of bravery! That said.............. Its Day 15 of my run for DOTM.................and..................wait for it........................ ~~~** Here's the topic I promised you.....**~~~ ~~ The BEST Dog Movies You May Not Be Watching ~~ Another older movie from Walt Disney is today's choice. "The Ugly Dachshund" stars Dean Jones and Suzanne Pleshette and a Great Dane who thinks he's a Dachshund, mainly due to the fact a Doxie wet nursed him as a puppy! ~~ A good clean family film full of laughs! Mommy saw this as a kid and loved it so much she bought it as an adult. She says it's just as funny now as it was then! ~~ having some Dachshund in me myself, I was a bit skeptical as to the validity of the "Doxie Humor Factor", but I have to admit, I found it hilarious!! It tickled my funny bone more than a few times!! You can take it from me, you will like this one a lot!~~~~~~ ** Hugs, Chewie and Maya **
