We had to make a horrible decision to let Cody go to sleep. Rex did nothing but cry on the stair well for 3 days and nights. I was afraid to loose him too. So we decided to get another White Shepard afraid that anothe Lab would be too hard. We drove 125 miles searching a rescue where Seeperd exactly like Rex but 5 months old was. WHen we got there the pup growled and barked at Rex. Rex simply walked away not to be bothered. We had fallen instantly in love with him because he was the spitting image of Rex. But it was not meant to be. The next day I called a Sheperd Rescue 150 miles the other direction... they asked if I had checked the Rescues close to home. I said yes. Then they named them and it I was shocked to discover one not 15 miles from home. We called and they had 3 white sheperd puppies. We loaded Rex and off we went. As we arrived there was a little white shepperd outside with what we assume was the new family. It turned out they didnt want her. When she re-entered the Rescue I fell in love with her little face and her wiskey colored eyes spoke to my heart. She had a curious and nosy way about her. We took her out side and introduced her to Rex. He sniffed her.. and kissed her. We looked at eachother and knew Rex found a new sister. We walked them together and he let her sniff him, jump on him and kiss him. (He had met many puppies in our search and he always walked away without looking at them) THen we decided to test the ultimate thing that would show us if Rex would accept her. We out Rex in the dog mobile and then let Aspen inside. She cuddled to him and he kissed her again. THat sealed her fate. She became a permanent part of our lives.
