Tuesday Morning Update

It’s day two of Westminster and everyone is talking about Uno, the Beagle who won the Hound Group last night. He’s had an impressive year and he showed well last night. I thought it was hilarious how he was making so much racket in the Group ring. I love it when the show dogs let loose and show their breed traits. It makes it much more interesting! It also helps that I think Beagles are some of the cutest things around, what with their tails looking like jaunty white flags flying high. And that face; if Beagles aren’t the sweetest looking dogs, I don’t know which are.
So much for my expert commentary! If I was judging this show, the cutest dogs would be winners: Bulldogs, Beagles, Staffordshire Bull Terriers. It’s a good thing the actual judges are more impartial and judge based on more than the cuteness factor.
Today I’m going to be watching some of the judging from the stands, then I’ll venture down to the benching area again. It’s like when politicians go and meet the people directly – it’s where the real story lies. I want to be shaking the hands and paws of the people and canines, not just watching the dogs from a distance.
Stay tuned for more updates.
