Westminster Day 1 Morning Update
|

The dog show madness has finally begun! We’re about halfway through the day program here at Westminster, and I’ve been walking the Garden looking for the hot story. So far, I haven’t found it, but I also did have some technical difficulties this morning.
After getting ready and leaving my hotel this morning, I walked over to Starbucks to get my usual soy chai latte, but they were out of soy milk. Bummer, but I can deal with that. I walked out empty handed and tried to catch a cab to the Garden. Ten minutes later no cabs would stop for me, so I decided to just give up and head for the subway. I bought my ticket, waited for the E train and finally got on before I realized that I forgot my ticket … in my hotel room … and they won’t let me in without it!
Heading back to the hotel to get my ticket and repeat the above process all over again set me back about another hour (plus I stopped for a slice of pizza because by then I was starving and having trouble climbing all the subway stairs).
Now that I’m here at the Garden, I’ll hopefully not have any more setbacks. I sat in the audience and watched the judging for a few breeds: Bichons Frise, Lowchens and Chow Chows. Next, I’m heading to the benching area. I’ll snap some pics of the dogs to post here so you can see what it’s like. Check back soon!
