Akbash DOG PROFILE

A native of Turkey, the Akbash Dog is a striking white flock guard that has made a name for itself on American farms and ranches, where it successfully protects livestock from grizzly and black bears, wolves and coyotes. Not surprisingly, it can also be a wonderful family dog when it's raised in a home environment. The Akbash Dog is best suited to a house with a large yard to match its large size: as tall as 32 inches at the shoulder and weighing 120 pounds or more. This dog needs plenty of exercise and firm, consistent training.
