Shiloh Shepherd (Smooth) DOG PROFILE

The first impression you should get from a good specimen of the Shiloh Shepherd is that of a large, strong, muscled shepherd. The dog should appear alert and noble. The Shiloh Shepherd displays courage and self-confidence, always willing to serve as a companion and protector. The ideal dog should be friendly and approachable, although some aloofness (not shyness) is acceptable. The ears are moderately pointed in proportion to the skull, open toward the front and carried erect. Eyes should be brown, medium-size and almond shaped. The dense double coat, whether plush or smooth, should be brushed about three times a week. A variety of colors is acceptable, including shades of black-and-tan, silver, red, tan, dark brown and black, as well as solid black or solid white as long as the nose, lips and eyerims are black. Your Shiloh Shepherd is best suited to a home with a yard and needs plenty of daily exercise to keep it happy and conditioned.
