Every dog needs these vaccines:

ADENOVIRUS

What it is:
An infectious hepatitis. Widespread vaccinations has made this disease extremely uncommon.

What it does: Causes abdominal pain, vomiting or diarrhea, enlarge liver, enlarged lymph nodes, hemorrhage, and inflammation of the eyes. These signs are more commonly seen in unvaccinated dogs less than 1 year old.

Vaccination: Initial puppy vaccination series, booster one year later, then every three years thereafter.

DISTEMPER

What it is: Contagious viral disease. It can be difficult to treat and is often fatal.

What it does: Causes fever, decreased appetite, lethargy, nasal discharge, eye discharge, coughing, pneumonia, and, in severe cases, nervous e-system disorders, including encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), convulsive seizures, frothing at the mouth, paralysis, tremors, and rhythmic muscle contractions.

Vaccination: Initial puppy vaccination series; booster one year later, then every three months thereafter.

PARVOVIRUS

What it is:
Viral disease. Any dog can acquire parvovirus infection, but Rottweilers and Doberman Pinschers are especially prone. Treatment is intensive, and many dogs ultimately succumb to the disease.

What it does:  Causes severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and dehydration.

Vaccination: Initial puppy vaccination series; booster one year later, then every three year thereafter.

The information for the distemper vaccination states the vaccine is needed every three months after the first annual shot. This should probably say the vaccine is then due every three years.
