Great DanesSt. Bernards and Newfoundlands were more in evidence this year than ever before. The entries were of an exceptional fine type and many close contests developed for the different awards.

The shepherd exhibition was considered one of the classes of the show, and the space about the kennels was continually jammed by visitors fascinated by their aristocratic lines and the general class of the every movement.

Unusual interest was shown in the Griffons this year. The entry was considerably larger than ever before and the standards were unquestionably higher.

Great praise was given to the entry of Pomeranians by Julius Farren who was assigned to judge them. He enthusiastically declared that it was the best list that he had ever seen. After careful judging he gave first to Scotty O’Toole whom he claimed was one of the best of the type he had ever judged.

Chow Chows were judged by Mrs. E. L. Clarkson of Tivoli, N. Y. The entry was fair in quantity, and among the best in quality that has been shown at the Garden.

Toy breeds were well represented and perhaps attracted more of attention of the visitors than any other class.

All in all the Westminster showing was one of the most successful ever held, and bespeaks well for the most developing interest among all classes of people for the perfection and advancement of man’s best friend. Attendance was above the average, the judging extremely fair and accurate and the show well handled. All of which indicates a greater success for next year’s showing.
