|My adopted dog's rescue story:|
|I adopted Kona a few days before her first Birthday in April 1997. My new girl came home with a cough we later learned from a heart condition. It was attributed to being tied to a shed, chewing the treated lumber to pass her days. Her fur was no longer brown because of excessive sun expoosure and poor nutrition. Kona had minimal to no training/manners.
After medical care, some physical therapy, proper nutrition, behavior modification, patience, and lots, and lots of love, we created a strong bond. We eventually became an agility team. We now compete at AKC's Master level in agility. Kona has also earned the title of "Canine Good Citizen". She's an amazing little girl, team mate, and my loyal, (cuddly) friend. I love her more than I can explain.|
