A late-winter maple syrup celebration in rural Maine last March proved a perfect opportunity for Chinooks, Trav’ler, Red, Moxie, and Mahoosuc, to show the public how dog sledding promotes teamwork and cooperation — and that it’s also great fun for dogs and people.
“We got the dogs out and gave sledding demonstrations, showing how the dogs must work together to pull the sled,” says Penthea B., a breeder in Maine and former Chinook Owners Association president.
