Two Socks endured a traumatic first three years of life. His original family paid little attention to the Alaskan Malamute, who lived tethered to their mobile home in the Dallas area year-round and was given scant food, water, or attention. When the owners moved away, they left Two Socks behind. The starving, dehydrated dog became a stray, only reluctantly taking bits of food from concerned neighbors before being picked up by animal control.
