When the German Pinscher faced extinction after World Wars I and II, a breeder named Werner Jung came to the rescue. His breeding program included a GP female smuggled into West Germany through the Iron Curtain.

German Pinschers have a low tolerance for pain and will snap if you hurt them, warns Deidre Gannon, president of the German Pinscher Club of America.
