A Texas nonprofit recycles hospital bedding to help rescues and shelters.

Audrey R. devotes her life to helping animals in southwest Oklahoma. In 2004, she started the Davis Oklahoma Animal Volunteers, which offers a monthly low-cost spay and neuter clinic. “There are a lot of people in our area who love their pets but can’t afford to properly care for them,” says Audrey, president of DOAV. “At our clinics, people pay what they can, and we fund the rest.”
