Pugalicious

Snorts and snuffles aside, the Pug is a great family dog.
By Eve Adamson

Like most Pugs, Nina grumbles, snorts, and snuffles. But when owner Lisa Sheeran makes it a game, the little fawn Pug loves to play along.

“She’ll grumble, and I’ll imitate her,” says Sheeran, the Pug Dog Club of America public relations chair and a Pug breeder in Hercules, Calif. “Then I’ll change the inflection, and she’ll imitate me. I’ll change it again, and she’ll keep copying me. Pugs are a very vocal breed, and they love to engage you like that.”
