Annie stood, front paws poised on the motorboat’s bow, looking out over the deep blue waters like a tail-wagging sentry. The Sierra Mountain wind rushed at her face as we sailed across the lake, her tongue flopping in the breeze. Pure bliss. For a city dog who didn’t enjoy swimming, Annie, a German Shepherd mix, took quickly to boating, getting her “sea legs” and never once looking back to shore.
“Boating with your dog is a wonderful bonding experience,” says Kim S., president and founder of the pet-travel website, TRIPSwithPETS.com, based in Maine.
