Rhodesian Ridgebacks don’t walk on water. Doogie learned that lesson the hard way while bobbing in a pontoon boat on a 200-acre lake in northern Wisconsin.

One of the boat’s doors swung open unexpectedly, “and he walked right off as if we had landed at the dock — except we were in the middle of the lake,” remembers owner Patricia Ottaway of Wisconsin. “Doogie was a seasoned boat rider, and I made sure all my dogs knew how to swim, but he plunged into the water way over his head and went down for quite some time.”
