The energetic Beauceron needs an owner who can keep up.
At a two-day pretrial herding test last April, Arco, a champion Beauceron, showed his owner Karla D. that herding sheep was all in a day’s work.
“Arco passed the first-day test with no problem,” says Karla, a longtime Beauceron breeder in California. “He followed my commands and moved the sheep around the arena and through the obstacles, never letting any of them break out of the group. We were like a couple of pros.”
