Regulated, or not?
Like animal medications, animal health supplements are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine. The FDA is the ultimate regulatory authority over animal feed, food supplements, and drugs. But these products are typically a low regulatory priority, and there are not enough resources to patrol this industry properly, say officials.
