Did You Say Your Dog is a Puggle?
This dog is a cross a Beagle and a Pug, and it's a big hit with Hollywood celebs.
Newlyweds Robin and Eric Rau never heard of the newfangled dog before they stepped into a pet shop on a lark two days before their honeymoon. They hadn't seen celebrity news reports that Sylvester Stallone, Julianne Moore, and
Sopranos star James Gandolfini each bought a Puggle -- borne from a Pug paired with a Beagle.
They didn't catch Ellen DeGeneres playing with a Puggle on her daytime talk show. And while Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal cradles his new Puggle in a blog photograph, the happy couple didn't see that either.
And so it was that the Raus set off for their honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and its surrounding Great Smoky Mountains with a third member in their party -- a Puggle puppy named Puggle.
His little tail is constantly curled, except when he sleeps, says Robin Rau, of St. Marys, Ga. He was just the cutest little dog we've ever seen.
