How I met my adopted dog:
My dad works at the coca-cola plant and used to run the routes where they filled the machines inside stores/offices/ect. Well one day he was running his route that included filling the coke machines in the staff room of the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga, TN and was taking a quick peek at the dogs. He spotted a Pekingese shivering in a cage, frightened, with a black paper collar around her neck. He inquired one of the staff what the black paper collar ment and the staff person told him it meant the dog was 'black tagged' to be euthanized that afternoon. My dad said he has no idea what came over him but he found himself pleading with the staff to not put down the dog until he had a chance to bring myself and my mother up that evening. Amazingly the man agreed and canceled the euth. appointment until the next morning. That evening my dad told my mom and I about the little Pekingese girl he found and took us up there. I set eyes on that dog and my heart leapt into my throat. When she looked up at me and came to the cage to sniff my hand, and gave me this sad, sorry look I had to have her. I begged and pleaded with my parents and they agreed that we'd be taking the new dog home. Amy was two years old when we got her, and is bordering ten right now. She actually took to my mother more than myself, especially during the recovery from my mom's car accident. But she still loves me and has become not just a pet, but truly a member of my family and I don't know what I would have done without knowing the love she's given me and my family. She's a little blessing in fur, and will always be loved even after she passes on.

She certainly is an angel. I find when we rescue an animal they are so thankful they give us back tenfold all the love we give to them. Animals are Gods angels,and I pray all humans will make themselves worthy of the love they so freely share. May you and Angel have many more beautiful years together.
