|About My Dog:|
|It was meant to be that sunny afternoon in August 2011 when I went into a local pet store/rescue just too "look around" when I stumbled upon Pebbles. She was a 10yr old Miniature Poodle with a very sad story. Her former "Daddy" took his own life and "Mommy" had to move into a smaller place and couldn't take her four dogs she loved so much with her. She feared that due to her age no one would want her. She was perfect. I loved that she was older, more settled, house broken and gentle-easy going & was going to be the perfect companion for my mother who I reside with since my fathers passing six years ago. Less than one month after Pebbles adoption tragedy hit us; Mom was diagnosed with Leukemia. She was in and out of the hospital 5 times in 4months . I would be so happy after a long day of work then hospital to come home and see Pebbles. She has so much energy and goes nuts running around the house and yard come home from being out.
Pebbs as I call her doesn't play with toys much but she and I power walk on the weekends. When we are out and about no one can believe her age since she's so spunky and full of life running around. She is gentle but has an attitude at times that makes me want to laugh at her more than correct her most times. She has enriched our lives. I am happy to report Mom's condition is holding its own and she is doing well. They are buddies and take short walks and afternoon naps; and sometimes share a people treat. Pebbles has been a God-send. I didn't rescue her, she rescued us and is keeping us all Forever Young- totally.
