Announcing the WINNERS of the "Authors Wanted" Creative Writing Contest!

In the February/March 2009 issue of Dogs for Kids, we asked our readers to write stories about their adventures with their dogs.

The response was great! We loved reading the more than 100 responses. Some were very funny, some were dramatic, and all were clever and a joy to read.

We narrowed it down to our top 11. Finally, we did a secret ballot and the unanimous winner was …

Copper’s Changing World by Naomi from Denver, Colorado. You can read her winning story, and see the drawing of Naomi and her dog (illustrated by our talented art director, Thomas Kimball) in the June/July 2009 issue of D4K.

Read the rest of the winners' stories by clicking on the links below. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

I definetely think that "Hey There, Delilah!" should have won. It was by far THE best! (No offense to the author of "Copper's Changing World...)
